Hotel's Favorite
Our stay here has been really great. The staff have been very friendly and helpful. The amenities are nice. The ambiance is really lovely. I like the touch of old Hollywood that they have put into this place. Apparently, it used to be across from a theater and movie stars would stay here when they were in town, so they've kept that bit of history alive. The hotel bar, the Driftwood, is super swanky and classy. They've got absinthe fountains! The room is spacious and comfortable and the beds are really comfortable as well. I'd certainly stay here again and I recommend it to anyone. It's even a short walk from here to the old downtown area.
Thanks for a great stay

My husband and I stayed only one night but would highly recommend the Premium King rooms with valet parking included in the price of the package. We enjoyed cocktails from The Driftwood Room and a delicious dinner at Gracie's. Very romantic! Both hotel staff and dining room staff were very courteous and professional. The valet staff was helped me find my gloves which had fallen to the pavement when I exited our car. Terry in Gracie's is a great asset! We enjoyed his expertise during a delicious breakfast the next morning.
Would love to stay here again!

I booked a room with a King-sized bed for my wife and I for the weekend and they did such a sweet job in making us feel like movie stars! I asked if they could do something for our honeymoon upon booking and they had a nice surprise waiting for us in our room which set the stage for our stay (picture didn't load, but it was a bottle of bubbly).
The room itself was cozy and clean (my wife loved the room and bathroom specifically for the old-Hollywood accents) and the bathrobes they offered were very fun and comfortable to wear.
The hotel also has a great restaurant (Gracie's) and bar (Driftwood); they also had free coffee and tea in the morning, along with their own free happy hour from 6p-9p with small cans of wine (great way to prepare for your evening on the town or in the hotel).
We definitely will recommend this hotel to our friends and family if they stay in Portland and hope this review can help others, too.

My stay at the downtown Portland Hotel deLuxe was a delightful experience! The hotel staff truly stood out, providing exceptional service throughout my stay. The convenient location, with the Max Light Rail train just a stone's throw away on a nearby cross street, made exploring the city by foot and public transportation a breeze. Tip: if you drive and upgrade to the paid parking, the public parking lot the hotel uses is, as stated, public, and you are not guaranteed a spot (Saturday night being particularly busy downtown, I struggled to find a parking space despite having paid for one.) The playful old Hollywood movie star theme added a unique and charming touch to the small but well appointed rooms. The a/c was just barely doing the trick, though I don't think that would normally be an issue except in 90° weather, as it was. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to have a wonderful time in downtown Portland.

This is a very average hotel for it having a 4.5 star rating & it seems they spent all their money on making the lobby nice. This hotel is pricey for eveything it doesn’t come with. The rooms do not match up with the hotel & are small. I went to open the mini fridge & the door was busted & dresser was falling apart. The bathrooms are tiny & uncomfortable & the water pressure sucks.
As soon as we got there we turned on the heat which after 10 mins we realize that it’s not blowing heat it’s blowing cold air.
So we call the front desk they said they will reset the heater in our room. So we waited about 10 more mins & called back down again. This time they send up a heater which took them about another 10-15 mins not actually a big deal until the heater didn’t really make a difference because the windows were leaking. I don’t understand why we couldn’t just have a different room. We were so tired that we turned it on, climbed into bed & tried to get to sleep only to have the worst sleep. Uncomfortable pillows/bed that kinked my neck in my sleep & I wake up to me being raspy in the throat & my muscles being tight from the cold that it was clear that the windows were leaking.
So after all is said & done & we pack up our things we walk down to the front desk. The desk person asks how our stay was & we told her the probelms we had along with waking up alittle congestion from the cold. She told us she could refund a $24 amenities charge for us & would be happy to do so.
$24 dollars?! $24 dollars for amenities that do not exist in my opinion. They don’t offer anything extra for them to charge $240 dollars for a room that is small cold & comes with nothing extra.
We will NOT be back & let all our friends know this is not the place.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, it is very important to us. I do see notes in your reservation that our team offered a room move and it was declined by the guest. The room charges you requested be adjusted were not able to be adjusted by our staff because your reservation was prepaid through a third party. (For your room at tax, you paid them...not the hotel directly so we are unable to make any changes) I do also see that a breakfast credit was extended but the guest declined as well. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to assist you.

Stayed here for 3 nights. No maid service as they don’t provide this until after three nights. Had to request towels. They were put in our room which was surprising since I was told they couldn’t enter our room to clean or make beds. Was charged $7:00 for each of two bottles of Evian water. We only used one. On top of the room price there is a $25/day amenities charge ( similar to a resort fee) for the use of the gym and bicycles whether you use them or not. Beautiful old hotel but definitely not worth the price of $1028.22 CD for 3 nights. Would not stay here again.

Sheila M, thank you for staying with us during your recent visit to Portland. Although we do not offer daily housekeeping service automatically, we do clean guest rooms upon request and also deliver amenities upon request. The Evian water service available in the rooms does cost $7/bottle, if you were mischarged please call the hotel directly and we'll be happy to make an adjustment. Our daily amenity fee includes the use of our fitness center, use of our hotel bicycles, evening wine reception, WIFI, daily fresh fruit, and daily coffee.

Hotel deLuxe surprised with its fun Hollywood decor, and impressed with spacious, well-decorated and furnished bed and bathrooms. Lobby and hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly.
Sorry the restaurant hasn’t reopened, but appreciated the canned wine for happy hour and the 19th Hole across the street for quick bites. The takeaway breakfast, which we understood was a new option, was inconsistent - fresh, ample fruit salad one day, older very small portions the next. Room servicing is every three days, but supplemental supplies can be requested in between.
The location was perfect, with easy walking access to the park, the downtown, the river, and to restaurants and shopping.

Meets the requirement of the four B's: Bed, Bathroom, Breakfast, and Bar.
Hotel was very clean, reception was warm at the front desk, as well as at the bar and brunch restaurant attached. The ambiance is upscale with a nod to old Hollywood everywhere. The room was comfy and clean, room service after 3 days of stay was nice but not needed. Water was hot instantly and the shower head was tall enough for my 6'3" to not have to stoop. If I had to find a fault with the stay is that the tub drained slowly so even in a shower the feet got a soak...which isn't half bad. $15 discount for breakfast daily was much better than your standard continental, good variety of options to choose from. The pickled peppers on the avocado toast were phenomenal, and the bacon fried rice was defeinitely orderd more than once during my stay.

This stay was a standout during our trip down sea coast from Vancouver to California and back. This is an impeccably refurbished historic hotel with 5 star service and rooms. Upon our arrival we found our room had been upgrade to a corner room with a great view. We also received a complimentary bottle of great red wine as a pleasant surprise. The room was very comfortable and fairly roomy with nice touches such as a marbled and tiled bathroom, unique robes, large TV, multiple plugs for devices and decorated in an almost Amalfi coast colour scheme with when with the lemon scented shampoo. We used valet parking which was helpful as we visited a number of local sights and walked to many of the brewpub and used book store areas. It would seem either the local area is quiet or the room well insulated (or both) as we slept very well during our stay.
Very nice 5 star hotel with a surprising low price during our stay.

My Bestie and I do an annual Birthday weekend in November and this year we decided on a concert and hotels stay in Portland. Excellent hotel staff who were very welcoming and offered wonderful advice of food and drink options. The location was perfect and so close to our concert venue. Room was super adorable, clean and the hotel even gave us a free bottle of wine and upgraded room for birthday (thank you so much). Such a wonderful stay! The light rail does run just south of the Hotel so definitely ask for a room on the North side if your are sensitive to noise. I slept fine but did hear the train a few times. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back! We both felt like princess on our little get away. Thanks again for an amazing weekend 🥂
