Stayed overnight at Hotel Deluxe and loved it! We arrived fairly late after a very long flight and the staff made us feel right at home and so relaxed. The check in was a breeze and the room was very clean and welcoming. Very comfortable bed and ample amenities in the bathroom. We got a light snack and drink at the Driftwood Room and that staff was also terrific. The hotel’s in a great location and easy to walk to restaurants, shopping, and the river front if you want a bit more of a walk. Many places in PDX are sketchy but this hotel’s in a nice part of town so no problem with homeless people, trash, drugs. I’d definitely recommend this location if you’r traveling to or through PDX.

Hotel's Favorite
My partner and I stayed here for a snowy and icy weekend so we could close to the venue for a Friday and Saturday night show. The service was phenomenal and I can’t say enough about the beauty of the historic hotel. Provenance has done a great job preserving the character of this amazing structure while providing all of the modern amenities you would expect in a hotel. We brought our dog and the pet package was a very nice touch with a medium sized bed and collapsible dog dishes that you get to keep. Don’t miss brunch in Gracie’s as the food is excellent and the waitstaff do all they can to make sure you enjoy the food and atmosphere. The hotel is walking distance to many downtown music venues and also a quick walk to the waterfront for a stroll along the Willamette with our pup.

The big thing that ruined this hotel for me was the fact that there were fees that weren't included in the cost of the reservation. I read online that parking was free but when I showed up I was told that the parking garage (that was owned by the hotel) was an additional $40 per night and there wasn't any where to park otherwise. the bathroom was cramped, it felt like that bathroom was an afterthought during renovations and packed in whatever they could for a bathroom. While I don't think that my room was advertised as ADA accessible, it felt weird that they actively made the room not accessible by adding a step to get in to the bathroom. The room was small and while the point of the stay isn't to stay in the room, it didn't feel like I was in a hotel room, it felt more to me like I was in one of the capsule hotels. I was looking for a place to frequent as I need frequent reservations for work but for the surprise cost, I can say that I will actively discourage anyone I know from staying here.

So thankful to have found this hotel! Excellent value, 3 blocks from the rail, which I took last min. (for $2.50 compared to Uber which was going to be $70 at the time!) super comfortable bed, clean room, friendly and helpful staff, great restaurant and bar…so happy with my find!

Avoid t if you can and if you don't, watch your belongings. The hotel is shabby Art Deco style - that part is somewhat ok. Steep stairs from the entrance door - bad if you have bulky luggage or/and bad back. No breakfast, you can go to the overpriced restaurant for it. Free but terrible coffee in the lobby - terrible if you come from Europe, that is. Americans generally treat coffee as if it were a herbal infusion. This is no exception. But worst of all - the staff do not care for patrons one bit. My nightshirt was taken by the housekeepers. Never got it back and know what? No apology, not to mention any compensation. What is gone, is gone. In case you break a cup - oh, then they will charge you, you bet! So watch your belongings, folks!

The staff is over the top helpful, rooms cozy but clean and comfortable . Lobby and dining rooms are grand with gorgeous crown moldings. Old movie stills around the hotel and lobby happy hour from 6-8. Free parking. Stairs into the lobby but folks to help you with your bags.

I love Portland and I have always loved the Hotel deLuxe. I would always stay here when visiting from out out town and recommend it to friends and family. Never again. It is so sad (and pathetic) to witness the demise of this old gem of a boutique hotel. Our last visit could NOT have been worse. Grungy room with stained carpet and furniture, the room was really worn out, no maid service announced not at the time of reservation but upon arrival, towels that literally ripped up like rags (I look pictures) and the lost horrendous, unresponsive and rude staff. The outside of the building is also falling apart — you can see stucco chipping off in multiple places. Unresponsive management — even when I asked a manager to call me. (A response by text bot does not count.)And the price was outrageous for what has now become no better a Motel 6 or Red Lion in terms of quality, service and cleanliness. Hotel deLuxe, never again.
