As a long-time visitor of Cannon Beach, this was the first time we stayed at The Waves. Our room was perfect (La Colina)! Set back from beach front, but perfect view of the beach, especially from the cozy little deck. We loved the booth in the room. Perfect place to play games, eat meals, watch tv, or just wave-watch. Room is clean, well appointed for 2 people, and staff is friendly. Oh, and GREAT LOCATION! Can walk to everything in town. Will definitely come back!
We stayed in early November at the Waves. We booked a third floor room in the La Colina wing, which gave us a gorgeous view of the ocean and sunsets. We could not have been more pleased with the cleanliness of our room, and no contact procedures in place. Our bathroom and kitchenette were well stocked with ample supplies, including extra towels. The Waves is a minute away from a great coffee house, Insomnia Coffee, plus is next door to Fultano's Pizza. We got take out one night from Mo's. We had trouble with our tv one evening but after a call to the front desk, a staff member arrived immediately wearing a mask, gloves, and with a universal remote so our remote wouldn't be touched. Rooms are thoroughly aired and sanitized between customers. Great job, The Waves, for making us feel welcomed and safe.…
We chose this place based on reviews on at another travel site. Liked · There was a kitchen in the room, and the living room bed was a murphy bed and not a pull-out couch. Though it was much farther away than advertised, the beach access was only one flight of stairs, and there were two beach entrances that were each a block away from the room. Honestly, that's about it. The room was extremely underwhelming. Disliked · the bed in the bedroom was something called a hotel king that measured 70 by 80, not the advertised full king. We would not have booked the room if we had known this, as it was not large enough, and not as promised. The mattress was also extremely saggy, and we spend both nights fighting to stay out of the middle of the bed. It was like a bad hammock. Additionally, the photos showed beachfront rooms, whereas our room was across the street and behind another row of buildings from the beach, and only had a slight diagonal view of the ocean. I could keep writing negatives, such as the fact that the paint was damaged on several walls, or that the toiled was in an awkward cubby that made it inaccessible. The gas fireplace had a loud repetitive click when it was on, and the bedroom dresser had a door that couldn't be opened fully because the hinged door was stuck.…
We stayed in the Flagship junior suite which is right on the beach with lots of windows to take in the view. We enjoyed the gas fireplace right in front of the bed and the contemporary decor. Good water pressure in the shower. The views are spectacular! It has a kitchen area with stovetop and pans, dishes, glasses, and some basic utensils. Mini fridge is large enough to keep a couple of bottles of wine and some other supplies for making simple meals. No daily room cleaning service due to Covid but you can request fresh towels, etc.. Bed linens were ok but I would have loved a fluffy comforter, the mattress was fine for me but a little too soft for my partner. Other than that, an almost perfect stay. Highly recommend.
We so appreciate the extensive process of health safety at The Waves. Aside from that, we always come back knowing they are constantly working at keeping their locations in great shape and problem free.
