Our family of 5 (parents plus 3 toddlers) stayed here for a weekend in Bend. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is immaculate, our suite was well priced, roomy, with a nice layout. But the best thing was the hotel service - the customer service, housekeeping, restaurant, and kitchen staff was generous, kind and accommodating. The hotel has strict covid protocols in place but does it in a way that still makes you feel like your are on vacation. We made reservations to use the pool twice and it was so fun to have to ourselves. We enjoyed breakfast there both mornings and the restaurant was also accommodating to our family needs. My little girl left her beloved kitty in the room, and the staff immediately offered to mail it to us. Overall just a wonderful stay.
I was really happy with my stay here. The top floor, Riverview room with a balcony was incredible and quiet. The bed was not that comfortable and the metal frame was noisy but overall a great room here at the HGI. Staff is helpful and the breakfast was amazing! This will be my go to place when I'm back in Bend.
This is a very solid HGI. Similar to the other Garden Inns, the lobby and public spaces are somewhat nicer than the rooms. Checkin was uneventful and underwhelming. No mention of HH diamond status and no upgrade. I'm sure with less than normal COVID traffic they could have managed at least a riverview room, or brought the amenities to the room to make it a "premium room", but no effort was made. Rooms are fine just nothing special. Relatively recently upgraded but definitely mid-range and not higher. Weird metal bed base that makes a noise every time you get on or off it. Big room that had little furniture in it; could easily have accomodated a nice sofa and table (a big plus when dining in room due to COVID) but instead just empty space and one armchair plus small desk. Bathroom updated but old fashioned. Day time staff was friendly and helpful, night time not so much. Room servicing was by request only, and the one time we asked for it they did very little so we didn't bother again. Breakfast staff was great, and we were very satisified with the breakfast provided. In fact, having travelled a lot for work and leisure during COVID I would say it was the best breakfast provided under the circumstances. Full sit-down hot breakfast, good distancing between tables, safety protocols, and a small but nice menu with some options for vegetarians. The location is also really great, right by the river and Old Mill section, though I have to say we quickly realized there was no dining or shopping of interest in this area (mostly big chain brands) and the restaurants and coffee houses we liked were downtown, not in Old Mill. But it's close enough to walk, and a lovely area for a run or stroll along the river. Good value rates, good breakfast and good location made it a solid four for us.…
My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Bend for our anniversary and we loved it here. When I checked in, the front desk staff was very friendly. He asked if I wanted a 3rd or 2nd floor room. We got the last 3rd floor room, and I'm glad I chose that one. I had booked a king bed with a balcony, and let me tell you it was worth every penny. Out on our balcony you can see the mountains in the distance and the river. It was fun to people watch and watch the sunrise and sunset every morning. It was beautiful. The room itself had just been renovated, and it was a really nice room, but there were a couple things that I think could have made our stay even that much better. When we arrived and got into our room, the carpet was really dirty. There were some huge patches of stains on it near where the fridge is (and when I opened the fridge it smelled really bad) and when we got in, there were some crumbs on the floor in a few places which told met the room had not been vacuumed. I did call down the front desk to ask if we could get it vacuumed, and they sent someone right away, and they didn't make me feel bad for asking, they just replied with a quick "I'm sorry about that, we will send someone up right away!" The staff that came and did vacuum for us didn't' seem bothered by it at all and was super friendly as well. Great customer service handing this. We were also disappointed that we didn't sleep very well, as the bed was kind of hard and pretty uncomfortable (the pillows were great). The sheets kept coming off the mattress as well on the bottom and up by the pillows, which is one of my biggest pet peeves. The shower also looked like it had not been updated with the rest of the room, because the shower tile had bits of mold in the corners. However, with those small cons, the view, the location and the staff made up for it. We did have dinner and drinks both nights we were there in the hotel lobby. It's not a formal restaurant, just some tables and chairs, but the ambiance is still really pretty and the food is fantastic. Our waitress/bartender both evenings, I can't recall her name, was awesome. She was super friendly and efficient. We loved sitting downstairs. However, for someone who would be pretty COVID paranoid, the spacing of the tables were kind of close to each other, so it may make some people uncomfortable if it is crowded. We will hopefully stay again when we come back!…
We were here for a short getaway vacation and so glad we chose Hilton Garden Inn. We paid extra for a River View Room and it was worth it. We had a wonderful view of the river which during the day was filled with people tubing. The hotel itself was immaculate- very important to us in this time of Covid. Although housekeeping didn't clean while we were there, the staff was totally responsive to our needs such as extra towels, coffee pods and lotion. We could easily walk to great restaurants and the river walk is beautiful. We will be back!
