We have stayed here numerous times without any issues….our most recent stay the power went out we could eat breakfast or shower due to how dark it was in that area. My husband recently had surgery and didn’t want to risk falling. I mentioned this upon checkout and emailed management. Front desk said “you should have asked for a flashlight” and no response to email from management. This to me shows how invaluable our business is to them….very sad!!

We have stayed at The Wallhouse several times and have always loved the cleanliness, location and breakfast. Hotel is still clean, but the bathrooms have mold in the grout of the shower and need some bleach and a little elbow grease. Our towels had just been thrown on the towel rack when we arrived, so I wonder if they were even clean. We used the folded towels. Then, there was breakfast. Who comes to Amish Country and wants Jimmy Dean frozen dinners and prepackaged muffins? Where are the local pastries and fresh fruit we had so enjoyed in the past?. Stay was okay, but not outstanding like in the past and I have to agree with another reviewer that the front desk staff could smile from time to time.

I had a reservation for a 2 night stay. Never received the email confirmation so I called to confirm (the check in date was 48 hrs away). Talked to the same young lady that took my original reservation. This time the rate was nearly 3 x times the original quote. I have all the information (including the exact time and date I booked). While talking with this young lady, she tells me she remembers talking to me and the rate but she can't figure out how to get the computer back to that amount. She calls Karen. She tells me she doesn't know what Karen is (I assume she means her title) but "she's in charge of us at the front desk" . I can hear her conversation with Karen where she proceeds to explain the situation and tells Karen she does remember talking to me, but she doesn't remember the rate. Funny, she just told me she did. After talking with Karen, the rate remains at the x3 amount. I call Karen myself and have a conversation with no success. While she does apologize, and offers a SMALL adjustment, she isn't willing to honor the original rate. As a business owner myself, I can tell you this is NOT how it works. Never staying at Walnut Creek Wallhouse again.

We stayed in the 2 Queen Suite, and the room was very clean. The room set-up though is a little strange. Even though it's nice to have access to the bathroom thru the livingroom area and the bedroom area, if both doors are open, you can basically see straight thru into the bathroom from both rooms and also from the windows if you are on a lower floor. You have to make sure to close both doors into the bathroom constantly, which was a bit of a pain. Having kids with us, that wasn't a likely scenario. Also, a hot breakfast buffet is still not served even though many other hotels have reopened their hot breakfast buffets (with servers wearing masks). The Wallhouse had only packaged foods and to-go breakfast sandwiches to heat in the microwave. The hotel is very clean and the staff was very nice. But I'm not sure we would opt for a suite the next time around due to the placement of the bathroom. Also, for a suite, it would be nice to have a full sized refrigerator, especially during the warmer weather so there is plenty of room to store frozen cold packs. All in all though, we would stay again in a regular room if traveling without needing a larger room for the kids.

One of the best things about the Wallhouse Hotel is the surprising interior. It's in the middle of Amish Country where everything is painted and decorated in quilts and handcrafted woodwork. Here stands the Wallhouse. Alone. Decked out in a modern and sophisticated vibe one might expect to find in a big city. It is gorgeous decorated in its lime green, stainless steel, and white. What also sticks out in this hotel is the cleanliness. The hotel is EXTREMELY clean. You know when you happen to glance down on the edges of the walls and see that line of dust that has been neglected for quite a while by the sweeper? Not here. You would be hard pressed to find something that needs cleaning attention in this hotel. My only criticism about the hotel is that the front desk staff are not very friendly. A smile and a bright "Welcome" really go a long way. Some basic customer service skills are lacking in that area. In such a nice hotel, it would only be the icing on the cake to have that friendly experience. Other than that, we will definitely be back again for another girls weekend!
