We were taking a trip to see Hocking hills and picked this hotel because of their pet friendly policy. We showed up with our 15 pound shih tsu and didn't see a blade of grass on the property. when we asked where our dog should go potty, we were told "at a park down the street". This didn't seem pet friendly to us and we asked if we could cancel without penalty. The girl working the desk agreed and said that she cancelled us without penalty. My credit card statement came and we were only given a small credit so it costed us $190 to not stay there. The owners didn't care what we were told by their employee. BAD BUSINESS! Pet friendly to me means that your pet can go potty on the property.

This is a long account: The short version: Stay at a chain hotel that has accountability- and sanitation procedures.- I called Worthington and made a 2 night reservation. Traveling alone from 375 miles away, I am an old gray haired women. I checked in, and put my bag in room at approx 2:30 and left to go to town. Came back around 9 and took a shower noticing two things, one of the hand towels looked dark and dingy next to a bright white one, ( I threw it on the floor and imagined it was just dingy but I was not going to use it) and then a body hair on the floor of bathroom. Not mine, it was a black hair and man sized. Decided to give the benefit of doubt, maybe it fell off the mop. Basically I was just tired and wanted to sleep, I pulled bed sheets down to go to bed at 10 and noticed a body hair on fitted sheet. I decided it may have been stuck on sheet from wash- decided to sleep on the other side of the bed. The fitted sheet on that side had blood stain that was so bright it could NOT have been washed. UGH. By now I was wide awake and not sleepy. The comforter had a black raised stain on it the size of a 50 cent piece. Of course then I examined the flat sheet- it had two 3 inch long yellow body fluid stains on it. I included two of the photos I took on this review- but by the time I asked the night shift employee to look at the bedding we had moved the covers and I was not about to *touch them" again to get a photo. Sorry, no. yuk. The employee was grossed out, I was kind to her - it was not her fault and she said she was going to take photos later. She offered clean sheets, I said it looked as if the room had NOT been cleaned- and I was just sick to my stomach that in the middle of a Covid pandemic I had taken a shower in an unclean bathroom. I told her I was a 64 year old women traveling alone, that it was dark outside and Logan was having "Hippy Fest" so there are no hotels with rooms available in Logan so I could not "just leave." She gave me a different room. The new room also had one hand towel darker and dingy than the white one. By the time I was relocated it was 11 pm and I barely slept - I was waiting for the sun to come up so I could get out of there. and did not eat the breakfast the next morning - I left. The employee said the manager would be in at 10 am. I went to town and came back at 11:30. I told the manager I owned a business, accidents happen, but that this was extremely gross. Someone on her staff did not do their job. The manager ( Katy, -blond slim lady in her 40's) agreed she said "She would have been grossed out by what was in the room because she, herself, traveled a lot, BUT- it was ONLY stains." --" Just stains that did not "come out of the wash" . She was nice. I was nice. She kept saying over and over she *knew* the room was cleaned. That the stains were permanent. I asked her how likely it was that ONE bed would get changed and clean sheets put back on with three soiled items, the fitted sheet, the flat sheet, and the comforter - all three stained? The facts just went right over her head. She said over and over the sheets were stained but clean. She did not see the seriousness of a hotel guest having to look at nasty sheets and then "decide" if they were clean, just old stains, or nasty and used. She did not seem to grasp that I was an old lady traveling alone and it was late, and dark with no other hotels available in Logan for me to go to , so I HAD no choice but to stay. She was very nonchalant. She said that the dingy hand towels were because the city of Logan had a problem with the water being rusty. I told her the hand towels were the LEAST of my worries. I told her I felt that this should be handled professionally, as a business, but as a human- and that was how I was treating her, I did not treat her poorly, but as a business she needed to show some responsibility for the condition of the room and my predicament. I had told the night employee I was canceling my stay for this night.- but Katy- the blonde manager acted as if I was still going to keep my reservation. I said absolutely not. She was reluctant to acquiesce to NOT charging me for the upcoming canceled night. - I told her very calmly and quietly that I was absolutely NOT paying to for the "day 2" reservation and did not feel that I should have to pay for my "day one" last nights "experience" at her hotel. I had not received the luxury boutique experience she had advertised. The manager shrugged and after I sat there a while in total shock at her lack of understanding- she said " Oh, okay, I will not charge you for this cancellation, and I will give you 15% off of last night. Your total will be 150.oo . I said I do not agree. By doing business in this manner you are in essence saying, "This was not serious." You are saying you feel that nothing wrong happened. In my business I would have said " I am giving you your money back with my apologies because this will NEVER happen again." What you ARE saying is " The Worthington is not responsible." - For me, as a business owner myself, this is not about Money, this is about integrity, and the Worthington is not showing integrity, or a concern for sanitation during a Covid Pandemic. . Finally she said she was charging me 150 for the night of horror. I told her " If you would have said you were sorry, proven it by releasing me of my duty to pay for this mess, assured me that you would NEVER let this happen again I would walk away. I would give you the benefit of the doubt and not even report it, or give a review of my stay. BUT since you can not even comprehend the seriousness of a guest not knowing if a bed is clean or dirty, I will be sure to review this, call the health department, and stop my card from processing the charge. Katy smiled and shrugged. She went to the office and she and another employee tried for 45 minutes to get a bill printed out - but they could not get the computer to change my total bill amount to 150. I figured from this hotel managers lack of conscience that I would still be billed for 180 dollars, instead of 150, which is what she said I owed before the 15% off. I insisted that she hand me a paper bill so I could see the charges. They would never give me a bill. I went home and The Worthington sent me an email bill for 150 in the balance total column- but 180 in the "owed" amount. I called the credit card company who said Katy at the Worthington had charged 180.- not 150. I would sleep under a bridge before I ever stayed here again.

My teenage daughter, who was with me during the stay, described the hotel as "amazing". It was not busy when we stayed so we were permitted an early check in and late check out. The pool was crystal clear and warm. We swam three different times during our overnight stay because it was so lovely. We enjoyed the tropical plants. It made us feel like we were staying at a tropical resort. Another reviewer mentioned breakfast being minimal. Breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast and was ok. However, there are close by restaurants with awesome breakfast menus if the hotel breakfast is not sufficient. M&M Diner was recommended to us for brunch (cash only, I believe) by the hotel. It is just a block away, walking distance from the hotel, and offers an extensive and delicious breakfast and lunch menu. The hotel is "green" and I appreciate the efforts to save our environment. I was able to charge my electric vehicle free while staying at the hotel (L2 CCS, I believe). There are two spots and my car was fully charged overnight (it is not a DC fast charger but faster than L1 110 outlet at my home). The hotel room lights are controlled by the key card slot in the wall so it saves electricity if guests are not present in their room (and a great place to store a key card to prevent misplacing it!). The coffee pods in the room are recycleable and contain delicious coffee, too! The people working at the hotel are friendly and accomodating. Each employee made sure we had everything needed and provided great recommendations for restaurants (i.e. M&M), activities in the area, and even turned on the pool fountain for us in the off hours as we were swimming (the fountain pours out heated water but affects the tropical plants so it has to be limited to a specific number of hours during the day). The beds were very comfortable and a blanket is provided should one feel like removing the "hot" comforter and opting for a different sheet/blanket setup. I felt like I was staying in a bed and breakfast but with all the privacy and amenities of a hotel. My only caveat is not having a microwave in my room but there is one to use at the breakfast/coffee bar. Other than that, it was a perfect place to stay on trip to Hocking Hills for a mini-vacation. I honestly wished I had booked another day at the hotel. My daughter and I loved the stay and look forward to booking in the future. It was a great visit and the hotel experience was part of our mini-vacation. Other than no ocean, I felt like I was at a resort in the Carribean.

My wife and I were looking for a few days away in Hocking Hills and booked the Worthington of Logan as a last minute decision. It was kind of pricey for a Thu & Fri night stay ($450) but my wife made the reservation and I was OK with it. The rooms were small (but the hotel is listed as a boutique so I wasn't surprised) and there are probably only 25 - 30 rooms total. The shower curtain did not contain the water in the shower, so the floor got soaked each time we showered. The list a white noise function on the alarm clock, and it was a good thing, as the traffic noise was bothersome at night. The morning "hot breakfast" was a letdown. Scrambled "eggs", sausage links, and potatoe Jojo's, along with toast/bagels. I would recommend that they serve some fresh fruit at breakfast. We actually went to Bob Evan's on the second morning to have a little variety. The staff was very nice and attentive, and the hotel was very clean.

What a lovely surprise! Like stepping into a tropical oasis. Pool is awesome. Staff super friendly. Exterior is very nondescript, but wait until you walk in! Beautiful food/lounging area. Super clean! Would definitely recommend for families or couples.
