Disappointing, it the only word I can think of to explain the Ross pub now. We went about 2-3 years back and it was a great hearty pub meal and this time there was nothing but disappointment. The waitress was very rude and argumentative, not the Ross pub I remember. I understand now why the locals aren’t a fan

I understand Ross' famous pub is under new management. I really love it when people who have NFI end up in hospitality when they quite clearly have little idea what the word means. This is what my mum and i encountered when we decided to have lunch at the Man O Ross Hotel. After waiting an hour for our meals, i queried with the manager. "Oh, we've had a big group in the Antler Room, she's just getting to yours now". No apology. Later she delivered drinks to our table and then apologised. I suggested that maybe we could of been informed about the wait when we ordered. Half an hour later 12 shrivelled crumbed scallops and a tough roast beef arrived at our table. Again, no apology. Sorry people, but you really need to lift your game in 2019 Tasmania.. especially in a famous historic town on the tourist trail. We won't be returning.

It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't crap either..drinks were reasonably priced..not a bad menu selection, though some of what my table of friends ordered was surprisingly a bit bland when it come out, the roast of the day was very nice, the sweet n sour pork and the chicken snitty not so great, but ok..the staff were decent with the customer service..I would still prefer to eat there than the local bakery, it's a good place to stop between Launceston and Hobart and I'd stop and eat there again..it had a nice enough feel and vibe, I just feel it could do with a freshening up and be so much more

Great meal. Best beef burger ever. Lamb chops were amazing also. Extensive menu and prices were reasonable. Staff were very friendly. Nice bar with good selection of wines. Great place to stop over after a long day touring Tassie
