The pros of this hotel are that it is right on Wineglass Bay and our room was spacious with a lovely wide patio/deck. The cons are that there is no place to eat unless you know to book into the very good Luz Restaurant for dinner but it is small and has limited seating so you are unlikely to get in if you don't book ahead. No place to have a drink/cocktail as Luz's licence allows you to be served alcohol only if you're eating and, as just mentioned, it is unlikely that you will be able to get a reservation. No cooked breakfast or even a latte. A cold breakfast is delivered to your room, if requested, but only a toaster and kettle in your room if you want something warm. The location is beautiful but I think the "resort" needs to lift its game if it wants to compete with the other accomodation offerings.…
We are on our last night off a great 3 night stay at this most comfortable suite at the Edge of the Bay. Our suite, number 22, has great views over the bay. We arrived on a wet and windy afternoon. Once entering our suite, it was a great place to relax and unwind after a very long drive from Lake St Clair. The Smart TV is enormous so you can watch Netflixs if you so desire. The lounge area is roomy with a glass wall and a French Door opening on to a patio and a path to the beach. The king size bed is very comfortable with good pillows and the en suite bathroom is large with a walk in shower. The kitchen area has a sink, kettle, toaster, cups and saucers and glasses but no microwave for heating up any meals. It is a great place to enjoy the Freycinet Peninsula.
We loved our short stay at the Edge of the Bay Resort.Fantastic location looking over Great Oyster Bay.Stylish villa with first rate views. The Luz Restaurant was excellent.Only gripe was the TV which couldn’t seem to locate free to air channels.
Do yourselves a favour and pay a bit extra to stay at the lodge. This is average accommodation and over priced. The view is pretty though. It has all of the basics for families though but we just felt it to be over priced.
In the current climate BEWARE OF THIS PROPERTY. They hide behind policy and make money off you when you can't control Government decisions on closing boarders. We recently had a much needed holiday booked for Tasmania when within hours of our scheduled departure the borders closed and we couldn't get to Tasmania :-( Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip and this accomodation booking and had been 100% paid as required by the property. When we asked if we could get a credit to use later they refused keeping 50% of the booking and never once tried to speak with us. They constantly referred to policy at the time of our booking and gave no consideration to the circumstances nor that we would have rebooked when we could make it. Extremely Disappointing and when it's time to visit Tasmania and Coles Bay we will NOT BE staying with this property or recommending them. NO SERVICE, NO GOODWILL, THEFT AT ITS BEST. We had booked and paid accomodation with 2 other places and all had cancellation policies HOWEVER they didn't hide behind them and all gave us a full refund before even asking for a credit. SHAME ON YOU EDGE OF THE BAY RESORT NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF TASMANIA HOSPITALITY.…
