Timothy Wright The rooms were OK nice and clean. The breakfast and food is very good. Most of the staff were pleasant and friendly. The gentleman behind the bar was abrupt and rude. He needs to be sent on a customer service course or dismissed. I politely requested if we could have the tv channel changed in the lounge area. The response was shocking. Especially as there was only my wife and I in there. Rooms: 3/5 | Service: 3/5 | Location: 5/5

Good hotel, dog friendly. Staff made you feel welcome, excellent bar and restaurant. The menu is varied, reasonably priced and the food is good quality. Was surprised that the hotel is not card only which is important. We will definately return.

Perfect place to stop to explore the area. From booking initially the staff kept me informed via email and on arrival, helpful and friendly staff. Thankfully being February it wasn't too busy but we also stayed midweek. The breakfasts were huge and freshly cooked to order, I can definitely recommend the omelotte, kept me going all day. The only niggles I had were that on our arrival there was some refurbishment work being carried out (we were informed of this) but they did start work about 8am, so no long lie in if you wanted to. Then our room was to the rear overlooking the car park but with views to the castle. The issue was that if anyone was in the car park, even with the windows shut you could hear the conversations very clearly. Saying that I would still come back to this hotel

On saturday evening of the 17th of February myself and a friend had a meal at Baileys restaurant. I had the rib eye steak which was inedible due to gristle ...not fat as you expect running through a rib eye steak but pure gristle around the edge...i complained to three members of the restsurant team who apologised but did nothing about it just took the plate away when i said i couldnt eat it..when paying at the till nothing was deducted or mentioned and the full cost of £68.80 was deducted. I stated that the steak was inedible and thought it should have been removed from the bill but all she did was apologise yet again. I asked to see the manager to which she replied hes not in until tomorrow Very disappointed in the way we were treated and wont be going again !!!

Had a weekend stay with our dog in Feb ‘24. Great hotel. The room was compact but it was clean, smart and tidy and had a great shower. The staff were very polite, friendly and attentive and made a fuss of our dog. We ate in the bar on the Friday night as dogs are only allowed in this area. It was clearly popular as it was very busy. You can’t book a table in this area but you can in the restaurant. It’s the same menu in both. The food was delicious, not the cheapest but not ridiculous either and definitely worth it. The drinks are reasonably priced and equivalent to pub prices. There was a good choice of hot food at breakfast. We had the full English on both days which was very nice. Guests without dogs are guided to the restaurant area for breakfast, so if you’re not a fan of dogs, you don’t have to be surrounded by them while you eat. The hotel looks very nice and welcoming from the outside and it’s just as nice inside, with a clean, modern decor and some nice quirky touches. The private hotel car park is a 2 minute walk away and there was plenty of parking available, even when we returned back during the late afternoon on the Saturday. The amazing beach is a 15 minute walk away and there are a few other places to eat in Bamburgh as well as a pub just a few minutes walk away. I would highly recommend this hotel. It’s an ideal place to stay and I’d definitely go back.

Loved it. On my own (with the dog) and came here 1 afternoon and 2 evenings for a pint. Staff brilliant, locals brilliant. I never talk to people but couldn’t help get involved. Lager was San Miguel and reasonably priced, never had the food but it looked and smelled great.

Very welcoming on arrival. Central location. Staff were friendly and efficient. Bedroom was good with all amenities needed including an iron which is more unusual. Hairdryer was excellent as some of them in hotels are more than useless. All the normal tea and coffee facilities

Managed to check in just after 3. The room was simple, and we were disappointed that there was no view of the castle. I appreciate that the hotel offers these rooms for an additional fee, but the on checking out the next day it was clear that these rooms were not occupied. So it would have been a nice gesture to upgrade We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was served so quickly we assumed that it had to have been microwaved. The breakfast the next morning was decent. However the scrambled eggs were bland and served within 3 mins of ordering and were hotter the surface of the sun again suggesting they had been microwaved. Drinks were expensive. Other than that, rooms were clean and service was incredibly good

Very run down and of very poor quality right across the board; everything needs cleaning throughly and so many repairs and replacements needed. Terrible beds, furniture, etc. Food and service frankly just rotten. Do not be fooled by outside looks and over the phone false charm when enquiring/booking. Not nice. Expensive rubbish.

Stayed here for two nights celebrating an elderly friends birthday weekend. Personally couldn't fault anything. Excellent breakfasts and a very good evening meal. Lovely team working the bar and restaurant. The little touches such as candles in the public areas made a very cosy environment. We had room 28, very handy as on the ground floor, compact but nicely refurbished. Would definitely stay here again
