Staff very friendly & welcoming, big shout to Gary & Andy for the bowling absolute fantastic never picked a ball up in our lives but their patience & support really spurred us on, we paid for a suite & viewed a couple of rooms outside the main hotel & in our opinion it is very worth while paying extra for a suite, much more room and more quality. Food was nice & tasty, you won't starve!! The only negative for us was the entertainment this is labelled as West End quality but apart from the Opera Boys who were fantastic! it wasn't West End quality, saying that the whole team work very hard & are very accomodating. Plenty to do & you won't get bored. Overall very pleasant experience just needs a few tweeks.

Such a huge let down, especially having read the reviews. When we arrived we were given our robe and towel and shown to the changing rooms. They were very run down, showers were dirty and all changing room curtains were torn and ripped. The toilets needed a good clean. We walked to the pool area, again in much need of some TLC. We eventually got 2 beds but not enough to accommodate everyone. Had a swim then went to get something to eat and drink, I asked at reception where we could get a snack and was told that the restaurant next door serves snacks but we would have to get dressed first. REALLY!! What a huge faff for just wanting something to eat. We left it. Had our first treatment (back massage) which was nice but not like a spa experience (you know that lovely spa smell and soft calming music) . Went back to the pool area and tried the sauna and steam room, yeh ok but so so small. The jacuzzi was out of order. Back for another treatment (facial) was nice. Then afternoon tea. This was ok but had way better. We then left at 2.30 instead of 5. To be honest couldn’t wait to get out of there. All the staff were very nice. But overall not a relaxing and calming experience and would not recommend

Excellent resort, so much to do , such fun to be had, fantastic shows to watch I could go on. Went for mid week Christmas break and was brilliant no complaints whatsoever stayed in the hotel room fantastic. Food lots of choices service brilliant ( well done Amy). Entertainers work their socks off to make sure everyone has a great fun time and we definitely did so much so we went back for new year and again had the best time nothing is too much trouble for anyone here would highly recommend five lakes every time. Will definitely be going back.

We had breakfast and lunch in the golf club bar. What a great atmosphere, created by the lovely Measie. Food and beverages excellent and value for money. Nothing too much trouble for Measie. Superb service with a beaming smile

An enjoyable 2 day break away at Potters. The whole resort is well maintained, it's modern, clean & welcoming. We were more than happy with our standard Village accomadation, it was clean, the bed was super comfortable & the shower had good pressure with different temperatures available. As with most resorts, it does feel as though you walk around a lot but that should be expected. A varied choice of daytime entertainment, it would be nice to have alternative entertainment in the Garden Bar while the big evening show is on. Although the Broadway-type show is excellently presented, it is not to everyones taste. The pool area is a relaxing space but it not very deep or suitable for swimming lengths. It would be good too see the basic dietary information on the menus to help those of us watching calories, suger & fat consumption over a 24 hour period - apparently this information is available if requested in advance. I am sure we will be returning again soon.

First the good bits! It is clean and welcoming. The grounds are vast and lovely. The food is the main is fine. They do appear to revamp yesterdays roast into Shephers pie or sweet and sour pork! The staff are unfailingly helpful and pleasant but they are very understaffed. Now the rest Ours was an accessability room and only on the day we left did we realise that others were given a step into the shower. In an unfurbised room it is quite dangerous. Our room was top end and had not been refurbished. No reduction in price for this and it was a bit odd that they should upgrade a nearby room with all the noise involved in retiling and installing new bathware. Our waitress could not have worked harder or been more pleasant but she was dreadfully overworked and short staffed so often there were long delays which were not her fault. The evening entertainment is very professional but soooooo loud. We sat at the back and it was just too much. In fact all the entertain area was loud be it quiz or bingo. To find somewhere quite and pleasant and serviced to have conversation was difficult. There is one quiet lounge which is not always open and often closes before the publised time of 8.00.

Spa day with afternoon tea with friends. Hotel very busy now that it is a potters resort but thankfully the spa was much calmer. Odd smell of cabbage/school dinners in the corridors. Spa reception and treatment staff were very friendly and helpful, especially as some things have changed since our last visit. Treatments were good, therapist lovely although inconsistent as some members of our group were given cards with details of products used, others were not. The pool is in a different location but, again was peaceful and not too busy. Afternoon tea was included in our package and was disappointing. Very small, bland sandwiches, one plain scone each, large but quite heavy/claggy. Small pieces of cake were cut in half. Do not expect to be full up! This spa day was booked weeks in advance and an allergy reported at the time of booking yet it was not catered for at all. Just expected to go without. Given this is a large hotel AND there is a famous jam factory just up the road it seems unbelievable that they would only have one type of jam. Most afternoon teas offer alternative flavours. Overall the afternoon tea felt quite measly and generic.
