Hilltop Lodge is perched atop of Kharguli Hills, the most upmarket part of residential properties of Guwahati overlooking the majestic Brahmaputra. The lodge is a homestay and has 6 customized rooms which have open spaces, terraces and an indoor garden Jacuzzi pool. The residents can play tennis, swim and golf in affiliate clubs at a small charge. The lodge is situated amidst nature and fresh air.
If you are soul searching nature lover wanting to align with nature far from the maddening crowd I suggest this is the best escape from hustling bustling city life. Perched on the Navagraha hills it is homestay with feel of homely environment. Here morning silence is broken by chirping birds & the dark nights and it's emptiness is filled with stridulation of cricket....completely lost in the heavenly paradise of nature....at a distance the mighty Bramhaputra flows gracefully in never ending journey. The travel from the hotel is best enjoyed if you hire a car which is available in hotel. For small errands one may have to travel to city for which rickshaws are not readily available. Better to stock your personal requirements like cigarettes. Mobile signals are weak so your mobile…

located on hill. Very old bungalow with extensions of added rooms. Very courteous owner living in bungalow itself . hospitable staff. quality of food is greatest plus. Food and cars made available very punctually at agreed time. Ramesh is an excellent cook. Even pure Jain preparations were excellent. However ,one to note that property is located away from markets - they are not in walking range. Yes, they arrange car or auto also very punctually .

It's a horrific experience.bhoot Bangla in other words. They have weird showpieces and paintings .all you will get to see is animals skin. Please don't go with your kids. The have a dining hall in which there was a table on which tiger skin was laid. There was weird type of sarees hanging all around.Seems they perform black magic and stuffs.

Rohit and his family welcome you into their home like old friends. Ramesh, the house manager and 1st class chef makes sure you have everything you need. Rohit is an excellent guide and can organise safaris for you as well as all your travel needs. I made this my base for extended journeys and, with Rohits help, managed to fulfill my adventure dreams. Rooms are clean and spacious. House is on quiet hillside above the City of Guwahati with excellent views of the Brahmaputra River. Highly recommended for those looking for a unique homestay.

Hilltop lodge is an ideal stay for those who admire art and love nature’s delight. Also, if you are a dog lover then, you got your zing! The home stay’s old-world charm and the warm hospitality can possibly give you the best vacation ever. I remember complimenting owner the first time I saw the place as ‘quaint’, such a pure and peaceful environment is particularly special. The house decor is full of period pieces, this arty-crafty interior of place lends a peculiar charm to it. I am of the belief that a place is what the people make it; the added beauty of the place is the way they treat their guests; one of their own. Rohit is the owner of the property and believe me, could be bothered any time (be considerate though) well we ended up doing that for any and every query on the…

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hilltop Lodge. I was very unimpressed by Guwahati during my first trip and only returned to take my flight back to Delhi. Hilltop Lodge was recommended to me as a great alternative to being in the hustle and bustle of Pan/Paltan Bazaar and the overpriced and average array of hotels that you find there. It is a bit of a hassle being out of town and my experience with Uber and Ola is that neither would travel that far for a pick up. That said, it really isn't that far (in terms of time and kms) and definitely not a problem if you have a car (they have free parking). What was most effective for me was taking a short stroll down the hill to the rickshaw stand at Don Bosco Institute and from there I paid 150 rupees into Fancy Bazaar. Coming back with…

We stayed here for three nights and we had a great stay. We had freshly cooked meals and they all tasted good. The rooms look like going a bit back in time and we liked it. If you like modern all service hotels this is maybe not the place for you, but if you like a homely feel with friendly people and good food this is a nice place in a quiet area. We enjoyed it very much!

Located in one of the better area's of Guwahati, Just around the corner of the Don Bosco Institute (from there the way to the Hilltop is marked). From the outside, the house Just looks amazing, from the inside it could use a huge amount of paint and a thorough cleaning plus new matrasses and bathrooms. There is still some beautiful colonial furniture, high cealings, hand crafted Doors, etc. They have all the potential to become a nice B&B but it is not meeting western expectations yet. Maybe I was Just onfortunate with my room next to the kitchen, they were preparing a huge dinner, therefore there was a lot of noise. Breakfast is simple, nicely prepared omelet with jam and toast.
