The Glidden House was an amazing place to stay. The front desk was very helpful, especially considering there was severe weather in the area. The beds were super comfortable. The breakfast was out of this world delicious. I would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.

Great location for the university and Cleveland Museum of Art. But, the hotel is a little dated. Room was not ready until after 5pm as only one housekeeper on duty. Room was a little old fashioned with a very noisy heating unit that would keep anyone awake if it were on at night. Breakfast was a buffet but a little rough and ready. Friendly staff.

Upon check in at 11pm I was greeted by an employee that seemed to be put out that she had to check me in. Once checked in I asked her where a good place to order food would be and was told I just need to look online. We went to our room which was average looking. The worst things about room 210 was the bed was so high that I struggled to get in it! The toilet was not properly attached to the floor so when you sat on it banged against the wall and you had to brace yourself so you didn’t fall off. For the money this room needs updated furnishings.

This hotel looks good from the outside, in the common areas and on the internet. But rooms and comfort are truly awful. We booked a mansion “suite”. The bathroom was ridiculously small, the area in which we could move about was approx. 3 feet by 4 feet, just enough room to open the door. It was clearly not a bathroom that you would find in a real suite. Our room was advertised as having a queen or king bed. We got neither. Our bed was a very uncomfortable double. How do I know this? I know because I measured it. There were two kinds of pillows: thin and hard, thick and hard. The room had a nice looking fireplace, but this didn’t work. Noise levels of this room were intolerable. Sirens, the beep beep of some kind of street equipment, the acrobatics of cirque de soleil above us, and the loud talking from the outdoor terrace below us. We would have been able to adjust to one or two of these noises, but all four was just too much. Thank goodness we were only here for one night. This hotels goes down in my record books as one of the worst of all time and I would never stay here again - not even for free.…

Dear Scott29inSeattle, We are very sorry to hear of your displeasure during your stay. We work very hard to make our guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Do to the historic nature of our building and the fact that we are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, we are not able to enlarge the bathrooms in the original mansion suites. Unfortunately, due to our location being in close proximity to the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospital, there are, periodically, ambulances passing by the hotel. We truly wish you had a better experience and we apologize for any inconveniences.

My husband and I stayed here in September 2022. I had an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic which required an overnight stay. I looked at the recommended locations around that area. All were your normal “I am not a fan of hotels. As soon as found the Glidden House I knew it was perfect. I was right. The house is beautiful, comforting, and comfortable. Our room was immaculate. We did not experience any spill over noise from other guest. I could not eat but the breakfast was nicely laid out and my husband enjoyed it. This was not an Institutionalized like accommodation. It was a nervous time for I and my husband. The Glidden House provided a welcome and comforting place to be. The beds were very comfortable but also very high. I am 5’2. This provided us with a bit of humor as I could not get on the bed without climbing on a chair first. Believe me the climb was worth it!…

After randomly choosing to stay at the Glidden House we quickly found we made a great choice. Every staff member was helpful, kind, and attentive to any way they could be helpful. The mansion is beautifully decorated and maintained. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The location was great for getting on & off the expressway for our Cleveland adventures. Thank you for helping us make some great memories. We will definitely plan a return visit!!

The perfect place if you are looking for clean, cozy, eclectic, affordable, safe, and top notch service. The vintage feel of the inn was a plus for me as it felt solid and warm. The location is great especially for access to the Cleveland Clinic, Case Western, the arts venues, downtown Cleveland and lots of green spaces. The staff are incredibly helpful. The platform bed is AMAZING. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. And the AC worked phenomenally well - kind of a surprise for an older building. They do charge for parking but it is worth it in this densely populated area.

I travel a lot for work and have been trying to find my go to hotel in Cleveland and every hotel has fallen short until I stayed at the Glidden House. I love how friendly the front desk staff is and they even remembered me even though I’ve only stayed twice. I love the atmosphere and quaintness of this hotel. I noticed the breakfast had mixed reviews and I have stayed at every chain hotel and I think the Glidden House has the best breakfast hands down. The rooms are not huge, but had everything I needed and felt quaint and tidy. I will keep staying here every time I’m in Cleveland!

My husband and I have been going for our anniversary for years except the last two because of Covid and things have changed. First we booked a Suite and got a bedroom with a fridge in it , Bathroom was nice but NOT A SUITE. Front desk said that 's what they call a Junior Suite. Beware of that because if you get one you will be dissapointed. I did insist that I wouldnt pay for Suite and they did charge me a regular room rate. Also we were located right between the 2 real suites that were occupied by Wedding and was very loud. Breakfast has gone downhill, they use to serve a variety of patries from Little Italy and little omelets in warm pans not its mote like a Fairfield Inn breakfast, not like the old pictures in their website. The property is beautiful and most of Staff very nice. No daily maid service at that price is wrong. This has been our favorite place to go for some years and were going to return for another trip in 2 weeks and to be honest we are rethinking. To the Management, please get your act together and return the Hotel to it's glory…

The beds are terrible. Platform beds do not need a box spring, unless the point is to bash your knee on it constantly. The mattress are old, hard and springy- very uncomfortable. They started vacuuming at 9:00 a.m.on a Saturday! Inconsiderate for guests that arrived late. Rooms should be updated, no fridge or microwave. Not worth $200 a night. I’ve stayed at nicer super 8’s
