My 3D2N package fell on a Sat/Sun hence the resort was very busy with many locals who only stay the Sat. night. I was met at Carles Port by a Resort representative. My package included boat transfer to the island, Carles Port Terminal Fee, all environmental fees, accom., meals and island hopping tour. My Guide Jen Jen who was assigned to take care of me met me at the island port. There is no internet on the island so rather than complain just don't go. My package quote included a fan room but I upgraded to their more expensive double room with aircon. It was a duplex room, one of two duplex buildings they call The Palm. My room was tiled, bouble bed with hard mattress, clean sheets, good aircon, a small table and that was it. The bathroom cold shower had very little water pressure which is probably why they provide a bucket. My first night the toilet flush broke and later I found the only double power point did not work. I reported both faults but nothing as done, no apology, no offer to relocate to another room, nothing. I had to leave my phone at the reception/bar to charge which I did not feel comfortable having to do. My second night the guests next door talked loud, laughed loud, played music loud well after midnight. It took me 1-2 hours to get to sleep. Then they woke me up around 5.30am talking loud and playing music. I was not a happy camper. The other duplex building rooms were vacant so why they were not placed their escapes me. Thank you Hideaway. My Guide was friendly, attentive and competent. I don't know to what extent they are remunerated by the Resort but they do rely on a tip at the end of your stay. I had read another review where the Guide was tipped 500 pesos so that's what I gave. He seemed happy with that. I did ask what the cost of the aircon room was if I walked in off the street and was advised 1300 pesos. My package quote was increased by 2600 pesos (2 nights) so I'm thinking they should have discounted the cost of a fan room from my quote which they didn't. I asked how much is a fan room and was told 200 pesos. I just gave up at that point. I tailored my island hopping to suit me ie I cancelled the mountain trek and the cave spelunking. I had seen the cave tour on youtube and being over 60 I decided to give it a miss. I preferred more time for swimming. Lastly, the package may have included boat transfer back to Carles Port but if you depart on the boat to Estancia like I did, you have to pay for your own ticket.

Booked for 5D4N online but decided to upgrade to a 3N4D (3665php/person) package upon checking in as we didn't know about the existing package. The Package? - Accommodation (bahay kubo with private bathroom and toilet, stand fan) or upgrade it to an air conditioned one for an extra fee What to expect: beddings included, NO toiletries, NO towels, NO cups/glasses (to use when brushing your teeth. We took 2 to our room from the dining area). Buhos buhos system when showering and flushing. NO fridge in the room. NO TV. Leave your fan on to drive off the mosquitoes. Frequent power and water supply interruption. Not really fussy with the accommodation but cleanliness is a must. I say for cleanliness, the room was okay but the comfort room could use a little more attention. -5 meals included (2breakfast,1lunch,2Dinner) water is free but other drinks you have to buy. Be prepared for wasay-wasay, scallops, squid, crab, rice overload for lunch and dinner. They were very delicious but too much for our taste buds. Breakfast is usually egg, dried fish, beefloaf and rice. -Island hopping tour including the entrance fee (only 4 islands are covered in the tour). Was a bit disappointed because I thought we will also be visiting the same number of islands the other tours offer. We only visited 4 (my fault I didn't ask beforehand) but I was aware we won't be going to enjoy the famous "Tangke" as it is closed. Time of the year. We went around 8 am and back around 12noon. We wanted to stay a bit longer in the islands as this was our chance to enjoy the water since the resort has no swimmable beach but we didn't want to keep the guide and the boatman to wait that long. No food/lunch/drinks is covered in the island hopping and we didn't ask how many hours is allotted for the island hopping. -Bakwitan Cave and The Lighthouse tour (we were not informed that the entrance fee for the Lighthouse Tour is not included in the package so we pay 20php/person) -free habal habal (single motorcyle) rides: from the port to the resort vice versa, resort to the Cave and the Lighthouse. - Personal Guide/Driver One of the owners told me, "Ikaw na lng po ang bahala magkano ang ibibigay niyo sa guide. If you want to give tip to our kitchen crew it is fine, they split it among themselves". We told the owner we are fine without a guide since we like to explore by ourselves and don't mind walking but she insisted and told us they don't let their guests go without a guide, so I assumed the resort pays for the guide and just gave him a tip when we left. We actually extended our booking for 3 more nights but after the tour package we decided to just go home since there is not much to do in the island. We did the cave, the lighthouse, walked around, and mingled with the locals but the lack of a nearby beach where you can go for a swim whenever you like or just to chill makes it less desirable to stay in this resort. Nearest swimmable beach is like 20 - 30minute walk. The guide/driver charged us 150php/person (PER PERSON!) for a motorcycle ride from the resort to that beach roundtrip. The people who run and work in here are very accommodating and friendly. There is a videoke machine in their bar if you are into that kind of entertainment. NO network/internet signal. Swimming pool? has one but I don't think you would want to swim in there. We tried to get our money back for the cancelled 3 nights extension stay but to no avail. :( Nice place to stay for a budget conscious person but don't expect too much. Also, before agreeing with the package tour, make sure to clarify with them as to what and what is not included in the package otherwise you will be surprised of the additional charges.

Hideaway Inn was the accommodation included in our tour package of isla gigantes. Googling some photos of it, we conditioned ourselves that we would really be 'roughing it' but what welcomed us was quite below what we expected. After arriving there (surviving the 1.5hr boat ride), we were met by our tour guide who led us to our habal habal. We were taken by surprise since both of us have never ridden motorcycles before but apparently this is the only form of transportation on the island. When we got to the resort a few minutes later, the whole front and side of it was flooded 😳 they said that it was the high tide coming in but they could've prepared some planks or walkways for the guests! Instead we were made to wade through the water and I for one have never done that before 😫 we finally got our room/hut and though we were prepared for the fan room, the bathroom was another story. The toilet didn't have a flushing system, the floor was filthy (you won't want to step on it with your barefeet) and you are just given a big Orocan of water for 2D1N. Cringe cringe cringe. They called us for lunch and we were served very fresh seafood. Yay but you could hardly enjoy your lunch because of the swarms of flies! You couldn't stop swatting for even a second. Hay. The food was OK but they served the same food for the next 3 meals (wasay wasay, crabs, fish and scallops). At  the end of our stay we were quite sick of it already. I guess if you really want a rustic experience then you can try this place out but there are a few other accommodations that are available now that are newer and more comfortable.

I cant begin to explain how amazing this place is. The rooms look brand new and incredibly clean. Two plush queen beds with a large sitting area perfect if your family enjoys playing cards. The bathroom is large and even had two sinks and a bathtub. The TV was 4K and even had netflix. The food was of varying seafoods cooked to perfection complimented by only the best fruits and vegetables. The tour was incredible and all the sights were different and fun. The food on the tour was served on this private island and was truly a 5 star buffet. We had prior plans but decided to skip them in order to catch the cave tour and stay our second night. Glad we didnt miss it! The cave was huge and my wife had such a blast. Highly recommend staying here. For 2800 per person there is no reason not to stay here! PS. Every breakfast is served with fresh coffee ☕️

The photos on TripAdvisor are very misleading. There is no beach at the resort and all the sightseeing is inaccessible by walking. We payed extra for an AC room, but the AC did not work. The food was as expected, but they served the same food for every meal except breakfast. Seems petty, instant coffee is not included in breakfast, extra charge. Also the area you eat at is covered in flies. The island hopping promised 5 islands and a buffet at an island. All but one of the islands are beaches and when we stopped for lunch there was no food so our tour ended so we went back to the resort. Overall our tour guide was very nice, but the accommodations and services provided by the hotel were disappointing throughout our stay. The bathroom barely had running water so we had to wash our hands at the public sink. We paid 11,200 for two nights. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

Recommendation: Feel free to ask for their tour and accomodation packages for a hassle free vacation. Best tour guide 'Kuya Kojack'.. Things to improve: Need renovation for some area and/or other rooms to maintain the quality of your nice resort/Inn.

If you want to disconnect to the busy world of the city, this is perfect for you! No signal at all. Which is good for you to really enjoy your stay and appreciate the activities they have for you! Foods are always seafoods except in the morning. You will experience the "probinsyano" life literally! Also bring your friends haha. You'll enjoy the tree house and their electric fan rooms with good company. :D

The extended part of the resort is magical ..specially in the night. Private .. so much so it's scary ... the only company we had during night time was a noisy cat and a dog :) Resort food was terrible and there are no other options. The place has to mature as a tourist destination. Set up is very similar to Caromoan which is not a bad thing Having said that .. it was a unique experience nevertheless.

It was the only resort/inn that we contacted & Joel was very responsive. The information given us was extensive though it didn't include a lot of uncommon things that the island/resort/inn does not have. One needs to do a good research before booking this resort or going to the island. Joel should include the details of the packages such as, the room type included in the package, the meals, the additional fees, the schedule of black outs, the unavailability of any recreational materials/appliances in the resort (no tv, telecom signal, internet), the mode of transport. We paid 3,650/head for the 3D/2N full package which include the room, roundtrip transfer from Iloilo (Bancal/Estancia), 5 meals, island tours, & transport (habal habal) to the ports & lighthouse & a dedicated guide for us (we are a couple). We were assisted by Darius in Bancal port & were welcomed by Bryan (our guide for the entire tour) in the island. The room shown to us first which was included in the package is a small nipa hut "kubo" w/ mosquito net & basic bathroom (PH standard - without toilet flush & shower head). The mosquito nets has large mosquitos trapped n the net. There is an electric fan provided & a double bed (not sure if size is standard double as they look small to us). We asked if there are other options & they showed us 2 diff rooms: one is the room w/ AC in the big house w/ shared bathroom (3rooms are sharing it) for a P500/night add on fee & the other is a newly built AC room w/ ensuite outside of the fenced area of the resort owned by Joel's relative according to our guide with an add on fee of P1,100/night. We chose the last one (P1,100/night add on) as it feels & looks most comfortable among the options. We were provided towels & small pocket of shampoo & soap but was not replenished the next day & room was not made up even if we paid extra P2,200. Food is rather boring and needs some variation. scallops will be included in most of the meal along w/ other sea food abundant in the island. The dishes were ok but needs improvement.. No veggies, soup, fruits. During lunch time, we have to deal with a lot of flies, 2 cats & the smell of goat poop. This is not an ideal eating situation for the squeamish. Softdrinks run out on our second meal & when I ordered a Dr. Pepper I was told it was already expired but was still in their display cabinet. The tours were ok but we we're not able to see Tangke lagoon as it was stormy during our stay. We skipped the cave tour as we were discouraged by the guide because of the water level & the weather. On the day that we were supposed to leave the island. We are supposed to leave at 8:30 AM but we're told by Bryan who came ealier (around 650sh am) & told us to hurry up so we can catch a private boat enroute to Estancia. We asked for 5 mins but he told us to hurry up if we wanted to get back to Estancia otherwise we have to wait for the 3PM trip which is also uncertain if it can leave the dock that day. So we hurriedly put our stuff in our bags & off we went to the nearby dock & have to ride a small boat to get to the main boat. Bryan told me to pay for the trip back (P80) although it was part of the package. When we got to Estancia, we told the boatmen that we availed of the package so he didn't charge us anymore & told us they will take care of it. I got disappointed that the guide tried to pull our legs by double charging us for the return boat fare. I tipped him P700.00 for the duration of our tour as we were told by the staff who received our payment: "Bahala ka na kay Bryan". The trip back to Estancia was one of the most scary experiences we had because of the stormy weather. The boatmen has to block our views so we can't see the big waves that shook the boat.. In summary, book this resort only if you know what comes along with the package fees & are comfortable with it. Ask as many questions you could think & do extensive research. There are other things to do & see according to our guide but all comes with additional fees.

We stayed here last Dec. 13,2017. I will just make my review as specific as possible. Our island hopping was cut short due to the Typhoon Odette. They gave us a room that looked like a cheap motel, we then asked to be transferred in a kubo which we found out after a while that the electric wire is broken. Then transferred us to the Beach house room, secluded just a few meters across their main gate. The room is big enough for us and has 4 beds since we're a group of 4. The CR is too tiny. THE MAIN EVENT Come evening after finishing our dinner we decided to sleep early since we have to leave the island early in the morning, we even advised the to cook our breakfast earlier than the rest for us. There were locals who are siting in a small kubo in front of the room. They asked us to close our windows and curtain because their windows were so clear we can be easily seen outside. We came back to the dining area of the resort to chill and have some coffee. One staff invited the the group of locals to go inside the resort carrying a bottle of alcohol from one of the staff of the resort. They were singing in the videoke until 12 A.M while the guests sleeps. We fell asleep around 12 and woke up at 5am. When we woke up we were about to go outside to have some fresh air but my friend noticed her bag outside the door of our room beside the trashcan. She was so shocked to see her bag there so she immediately checked her purse and her cash worth 6,000 pesos was gone!!! Including coins. Her cards were still in the purse including our phones. What puzzled us is that she hid her bag under her bed since she was sleeping beside the window and yet the thief still managed to get the bag under her bed. We immediately reported it to the staffs and they were disappointed as well. They found out that one of the jalousie was missing and they found out the stick that was used to get her bag. However, the stick is still too short to get the bag under her bed. One my friend said she felt someone was walking around our room around 3am, I also remembered that the electricity went out that night. One of the staff said same thing happened two weeks ago where a guest lost a cellphone and a wallet. We were wondering, if this case already happened before why are there no security precautions? No one is guarding the resort at night. We also found out that drinking inside the resort when you're not a guest is prohibited. After we reported it to the owner all we got was a "pasensya na po" We paid them almost 13k for an unpleasant room which we only stayed for a few hours and for the tour that was cut short. We asked if we can get a refund atleast half to compensate for the lost money but he said he will get back to us. He's not answering our messages until today. Is there a possibility of inside job? What could possible happened if we woke up while they were inside the room? It's so sad that the locals of this island is killing their tourism. Note that this is the only resort in their island. So if you're planning to go to Isla De Gigantes pls find a better resort.
