Excellent resort with the best service. Stayed for three nights and four days. Got to hike going to Mt Opao with a local guide (around more or less a 3KM hike). Balay Cogon, which is another resort in the island that was equally nice. Overall, a beautiful resort experience!!

At this time when everyone doesnt want to be infected. This is the best place to relax. Very friendly and nice staff. Very cold the whole stayed we have which is very nice. Even the pool and beach was cold. Beach can’t swim though as is too shallow nice for wading and playing. Up to 400meter distance to water if low tide. Sands not as fine but well maintained as they cleanup every morning. Its also compacted good for jogging and outside the resort as well. Small communities surrounding so its quite safe. Hotel amenities are lacking just typical seda. Bring your own lotion. No Gym. Theres some games for kids. And staff made us comfy for makeshift projector on movie night. Restaurant has limited choices we tried every food selection on our 2 night stay. Understandable as they have limited employees. Similar to Solina 1 resto only except better beach and island hopping to better beaches close by. Unfortunately was also limited as there is strong winds. Wifi is strong especially Globe. Low tide in pic.

This is a place you would want to come to if you are looking for a cozy place to relax and enjoy and off the beaten path. Hotel staff are friendly, accommodating and professional. The rooms look great, are very spacious and well thought out. The soaps provided as well as the linens especially the towels smell great! The pool area is a great place to hang out and really close to the rooms. While it is easy to hear about the great things this hotel has to offer, thought is is important to let you know about things we weren’t crazy about...The water in our suite was brown and had an iron-like smell often times. Also, there is only one restaurant in the resort serving really good food however with a very limited selection which could make food choices very boring if you plan on staying a couple days or longer. We were told that there is a one other local food place just outside of the resort however we haven’t yet been able to find it. Also, the beach sand isn’t fine/smooth and is really shallow. During the early mornings of our stay, tide was really low which is great for exploring the wildlife once in the sea however not great for water play.

We stayed over the long weekend. Took the Sat Airswift flight to Sicogon and arrived at the resort around 9am. Very convenient as the airport in Sicogon was very near ie walking distance to Huni. Even though there was an ongoing Hobiecat event we were already provided access to our rooms which was a welcome perk. There’s still ongoing construction within the resort but staff tried their very best to manage and workaround this inconvenience. Rooms were clean and provided the necessary comfort and amenities for the price you pay; just ask from the front desk for any items you need ie toothbrush etc. Food selection is limited but chef is an excellent chef; he is able to whip up your special request for as long as there are ingredients available in the kitchen. Do make advance orders for crabs from the ever friendly Resort GM Bayon; they were very fresh and meaty; very different from what you get in Manila. We made this trip specifically to relax and enjoy nature in a setting that provides the usual urban comfort. We were not disappointed. The pool is terrific; our two nieces had the time of their lives and enjoyed the pool for eight hours straight. Water was perfect. As there was ongoing construction, beach needs constant clean-up. White sand but walking on it is a little bit painful due to sharp shells/dead corrals; better wear your watershoes. When its low-tide, mini sand bars appear; they are pristine and beautiful. We did not go island hopping as its quite a distance from Sicogon; have been there before Gigantes etc and its worth taking that trip too; really pretty islands. Staff at the resto are great esp Josela and Jun. They will serve you with a smile and cater to your every wish ie setup near the pool, have the kiddie pizzas I brought cooked (they do charge a minimal cooking fee). Overall a wonderful stay. Will definitely be back. Sicogon has its charms too I would say. Go visit and enjoy the seafoods, beach, pool and convenience of just a 1 hour flight from Manila and you are on the beach! Btw got back on the 840am flight on Monday and arrived Manila at 10am (back to office reality!).

For its price these are some points to consider. Good Points : 1. Beautiful place and ambience 2. Food is good 3. Pool is great 4. Staff are friendly 5. Great jump off point for fantastic islands (Islas de Gigantes) Points for improvement : 1. Room and toilet cleanliness. Had toilet (marks which should have been cleaned) and bedsheet (red stain) issues. These can and should be addressed. 2. Premises cleanliness. The beach had trash and the food being thrown by birds at the bar looked messy. These are also safety hazards as well. These can and should be addressed. 3. Staff are friendly but on the reserved side. Can be a little bit more engaging. 4. There is only 1 service van. Suggest to add at least 1 more so guests do not have to wait in line to be transported. It was our 1st time in Sicogon. Definitely coming back some day. Best beach experience in Islas de Gigantes. Crystal clear waters and reasonably priced super delicious food. If ever we come back to Sicogon though, will check out other possible places to stay.

We were excited to try this new resort given Ayala’s reputation and the online reviews. Upon booking, you are assigned a reservations officer who is supposed to assist you with your needs. Based on our experience however, she was not helpful at all. It is now very convenient to visit the resort as Air Swift has direct flights to Sicogon airport. The resort is less than a minute away from the airport via the complimentary shuttle. However, the flights leave Manila at 7am and Sicogon at 8am. This means, you will arrive at the resort way before the check in time of 3pm and have 1 wasted day since you will leave very early in the morning of your departure. Fortunately, our room was ready when we arrived. But, based on my correspondences with the reservations officer, this cannot be guaranteed and is subject to room availability. Construction was ongoing during our stay resulting in loud, incessant noise throughout the day, which carried into the rooms. Unfortunately, we were only informed of the ongoing construction 1 week prior to our arrival, with no option to cancel or reschedule our stay. We had no choice but to accept their “apologies.” This would have been fine had the construction stopped during the evening. But it carried on throughout the night, even past 10pm. The front desk staff were pleasant enough. We were offered cold drinks and towels when we arrived. However, they assigned our room to another group AFTER we checked in, such that someone was able to open our room with their key while we were inside. The room was simple but clean. There were sufficient power outlets and lighting. The bed was very comfortable. As another reviewer mentioned, they only offer shampoo and bath gel. No other toiletries or slippers. Given the cost of the stay, I think it would have been nice to have these. I appreciate that they used a refillable glass water bottle to minimize waste. We had no issues with the cable tv and the WiFi was fast. With regards to the food, as other reviewers have mentioned, the choices are very limited. However, the food we tried were consistently good and the restaurant staff were nice and helpful. We recommend the catch of the day, coconut rolls and potato chips. The breakfast was initially ala carte with a choice of a Continental, American or Filipino breakfast. However, when additional guests arrived, breakfast became a buffet. I suggest to bring snacks given the limited options in the restaurant and lack of options to buy elsewhere. The pool was nice and clean. The beach front was nice. I appreciate that they kept the trees. However, the sand is a bit rocky and there was a lot of seaweed during the time we came. Unfortunately, there were trash, such as food wrappers, along the beach too. Overall, we found it to be an ok resort with the potential to be an amazing respite from the city.

I love Huni! The resort is beautiful with a nice beach. The rooms are clean and the staff are accommodating. We booked our tours through them and we really felt taken care of. The little things like sending towels, water and dry bag for our tour made it special—this is considering that the tour is outsourced. It’s a great and convenient jump off point to explore Gigantes Islands especially that Airswift has direct flights to Sicogon Airport. I believe they could improve their food selection as it was quite limited. But all in all, the experience is still marvelous.

Since we were already in the island, we transferred here from Balay Kogon because we wanted to try out which one is better. Good thing we stayed in Balay Kogon for 3 nights and just 1 night here in Huni. Ambiance wise, Balay Kogon is more homey, relaxing, quiet, serene. Huni, on the other hand, is somewhat noisy during the day as construction is still on going. We stayed at room 109, Family Room. The room is big, 3 beds good for 4 pax. They have Cignal cable but you wont be able watch any channel at all because all channels lags/pauses every 10 seconds!!!! 😑 Planned to swim at the beach but the beachfront isn't that clean when we were there. Lots of seaweeds compared to Balai Kogon's beachfront which was a lot cleaner. (See photos) When I took a shower, shower area was clogged! Had to cut short my shower for the fear that I flood the shower area. The staff was able to remove a huge amount of hair from the drainage --- from previous guests' -- please advise housekeeping staff to always remove the hair from the drainage. 😪 Similar to Balai Kogon, food choices in Huni was also limited. 2 pages only and servings are small. 😑 (See photos) Staffs in Balai Kogon are also more accommodating, alert, ready to give their service even if not called for. Overall, I would choose Balai Kogon over Huni in a heartbeat. -

We enjoyed our babymoon in this resort. If you want peace and relaxation, then Huni Sicogon would be perfect for you. We were given a room upgrade by the booking agent (Deluxe to Deluxe-Beachview). We also appreciate that we were given a room to rest in while we wait for our assigned room to be vacated (our flight arrived before 8 am). Special thanks to Bayon who picked us up from the airport and ensured our comfort during our stay. Nonetheless, we still think there is room for improvement: 1. Only limited toiletries were provided (shampoo and body wash in pumps). We had no problems with this since we bring our own toiletries. I just hope they had bedroom slippers. 2. Only the Cignal remote control was provided, so when we tried plugging in a USB into the TV to watch a movie, we couldn't navigate the controls. 3. The water in the bathroom had a weird smell - we had to use purified water to brush our teeth. 4. The menu is somewhat limited but the items that we ordered were good, especially the scallops. 5. They had a breakfast buffet during our 2nd day. It seems as though the food items were incomplete (ex. I saw cereals on the table but no milk. There were pancakes and toast but no butter - I still had to ask for it). We understand that the hotel is still very new and still adjusting so we hope our comments would help them improve their service. :)

The place is beautiful. From the concierge to the restaurant staff to the security guards to the clean up crews, they were very courteous and always willing to help. Couldn't have met more wonderful staff. The rooms were very clean. The swimming pool was excellent. Grounds are always kept clean of debris. Unfortunately, no wifi yet but in the process. Globe signal is very strong (as expected) since they have a cell tower on the island. Day trips, arranged by the resort, to Islas de Gigantes and the Tangke wall were superb. Even the boat crew were very courteous and helpful. And the food in the coffee shop was very delicious. Almost every item in the menu was superb. The calamares, beef steak tagalog, baked scallops and gising gising are a must. The beakfast buffet was a real treat. My hats off to the Chef Peter Jun Castillo and his staff. Kudos to Sir Bayon and his assistant Maya who were ever very helpful to our party of 22 and who were always available to accommodate our requests. Maraming maraming salamat po!
