We checked in at Solina for 4 days 3and enjoyed our stay in this resort hotel in Carles, the jump off point for Island Hopping around the Gigantes Islands
The Glamping Cabins are cosy, clean and fresh. Recommend Cabins C-1 C-2 and C-3 for the garden view. Balay Villas overlooking the pool are also a preferred choice
The full Breakfast Buffet in Angga Restaurant served when the hotel has high occupancy is extremely good as is their ala carte menu for lunch and dinner al fresco dining.
The swimming pool area is on par with any 5* resort
The hotel is only 15 mins from Banca Port as jump off for Island Hopping Tours
We recommend a stay at Solina and we will be back!

We checked in from Jan 24-26, 2022. Check-in procedure was smooth, including health declaration and submission of vaccination cards.
Weather was gloomy upon arrival, but this did not dampen the beauty of the resort. We loved how “natural” the resort was developed.
The pool was gorgeous, especially at dusk. Kids had a wonderful time since there were few guests at that time. It was amihan, so the beach was not good for bathing. But they have very nice duyans and benches for some windy afternoon reads (and naps 😊).
Angga Restaurant has a very accommodating and efficient staff. We were so happy to have met the main chef, Sir Nicolas Gibraltar who happens to be a Guimbalanon like us.
Breakfast buffet was good, notable were the egg station, chicken pastel, boneless dilis, pancit canton and their fruit jams.
Baked scallops, fried chicken, kinilaw, sinuglaw, pork sisig, calamares 🥰, pakbet with bagnet were awesome. Chef was kind enough to prepare complimentary sinigang na tangigue with batwan which my Tatay appreciated a lot. They also beautifully arranged the birthday cake for the parents. 😍
The rooms do not provide free bedroom slippers, which I think should be part of the guest package. They charged 100 pesos for a pair.

Great place to stay to relax. Service is great! - from waitstaff to housekeeping to groundkeep to drivers to front desk personnel - everyone exuded the same warmth and willingness to help.
Pros: great service! pool that is cleaned nightly, yummy and affordable food, clean, certain rooms have ramps - wheelchair friendly, readily available drinking water, wonderful rooms with verandah (queen villa), affordable and wonderful massage, pool with controlled temperature, good daily breakfast, tower drinks
Cons: beach can be cleaner, watch out for jellyfish, need to track towels, gym area can be improved, tower bar closed
Tip: go up the tower for a great overlooking view, ask the staff for assistance for tour packages and airport transfers

The place is great and the manager a a is on top of everything and our activity was very successful because they were really available and worked hand-in-hand with the organizer the breakfast buffet is very abundant but it could do with some variety and the egg guy at the egg station needs to cheer up a little but he makes very very good omelette the pool is very clean and so is the rooms the staff are 24-hours on hand and easily responds to requests even their laundry what is amazing is they deliver when they say they will. Kudos to the amazing untiring ever pleasant staff. Congratulations.

Hi Team Quiambao, Thank you for taking the time to write about your positive experience during your stay. Thank you also for choosing to celebrate your birthday with us. A belated happy birthday to Mike! We are beyond honored to have served you during your stay. Because of the lockdowns at that time, we had to limit our menu to ingredients that are accessible nearby. But rest assured, we are working on making more food choices available soon. Thank you again and stay safe!

I want to express my sincere gratitude to Ma'am Alcres Alexander and the entire team, which includes Miss Novz, Sir Keymark, Chef Mark, Miss Dianne, and Reymart, for ensuring that my stay was incredibly smooth and enjoyable. The room is remarkably spacious and impeccably clean, featuring a balcony that overlooks the beach and includes a dining area, a king-size bed, as well as a sofa bed, a 45-inch curved ultra HD TV, a mini-bar, and an electronic safe. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a warm welcome note and message from the general manager, accompanied by an adorable towel elephant 😍. The food was exceptionally satisfying, with options like Danggit and Longganiza de Kalibo for breakfast. The staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly, and overall, it's an experience I would happily relive. I eagerly look forward to returning in the future.

Enjoyed our stay, pros and cons listed.
CONs
1. For the price paid we felt the room furnishings for the higher end rooms were subpar versus other resorts in the same price range. Bed creaked and groaned very loudly with every turn. There was an inch gap in sliding door and stationary window allowing plenty of opportunities for critters to enter. Mold in shower.
2. For those that care Wi-Fi only works in restaurant and reception area.
3. Beach itself is not very pretty or inviting for a swim.
4. Poor resort for a massage, no dedicated room.
Pros
1. The best planned and kept grounds we have seen in the Philippines.
2. The pool was incredibly clean, a rarity in the Philippines.
3. The staff was amazing especially Theresa in the restaurant.
4. Not many dining options outside of the resort so we were very happy that the restaurant was good.
Would we come back, absolutely we would probably just reserve one of the cheaper rooms, didn’t see much value in spending the extra money for a premium one.

I took my whole family there for 2 nights. We rented four of their Kamalig huts. The place is expensive (which we know prior) but I thought it would be a great place for a family reunion. Unfortunately it wasn't stated in their website that their beach has so many jellyfish and also they don't allow you to swim. The kayak and paddle board are supposed to be included with resort but they won't even let you use it because of the jellyfish in the beach which again not stated in their website. When you pay that much money you expect to use what the resorts offer. You pay full price for about half the accommodations you pay. We weren't so much interested in their overcrowded small pool. When we booked we were looking forward to swim in the ocean water which unfortunate we weren't allowed. The staff is great and very friendly but we ended up booking a 20,000 island hopping tour just to be able to swim in the salt water. I wish they atleast offer you discount or inform you of all the restrictions in their website then atleast the guest can decide if they want to book of not. Overall a good place if all their amenities are available but otherwise not worth the money if you are only getting the rooms.

The Suite / Cottage was nice and roomy. Quiet and private with a large jacuzzi for 2 persons. Don't forget to bring the bubble bath soap. The breakfast was a large buffets for Asians and expats. Service was endless by many workers to help you with any needs, making this resort well worth the extra price. We loved it.

We love the ambiance of being surrounded by nature - land and water though we were not able to swim in the beach due to jelly fish gathering as it was partly raining during our visit. However, they have their pool to enjoy. Food is on a med range cost but acceptable for it being scrumptious and large portions! We enjoyed their buffet breakfast too which has a wide variety of menu to choose from. We stayed in their glamping tent which made the stay more unique but very comfortable as it has complete amenities. All staff were also accommodating and cheerful and answers requests promptly. We'll be visiting again.

Unlike some Caribbean all inclusive tours where guests sport bracelets to identify all inclusive buffets/alcoholic drinks packaged with their hotel accommodations, I have yet to find domestic tours offering such package. I think you can arrange directly with the hotel for such all inclusive tours so you can state your preference for meals or for their island hopping trip options in case you would opt for leisurely picnics in an island ideal for swimming instead of visiting all the islands for a day tour. They always aim to please. There are no direct flights from Canada to iloilo, opt for Philippine Airlines with connecting flight to Iloilo via Roxas Airport as it is nearer Solina Beach Resort by a full hour.
You might want to coordinate with Solina directly thru their website. Yes they have their own resto & there are restos/resorts nearby. You can also purchase from Roxas City market & have it stored thru the resto or arrange for barbeque cookouts. Hope this helps.
Yes, there is. You can also hire a van from Solina to pick you up from Roxas
Cokaliong docks at Iloilo City. Is that the port you mean?
Taxis can go directly to that place, despite the fact even the owners think it's not possible... We took a taxi from Iloilo City, it was php 3500.
The other of the two "convenient" options is to pre arrange their van for pickup but it's more expensive than going by taxi.
The third - much cheaper - option is to google for the description on how locals go from Iloilo City to the Bancal Port in Carles. They only go to Estancia by a "public" van connection (maybe also Jeepneys go there?) and the rest by tricycle. Instead of the Bancal Port in Carles you'd tell the tricycle driver to go to the resort.
