Rooms were dated but clean. The only problem was no power points next to the bed which we needed for our CPAP machines. Had to chase up extension leads which were not long enough and had to connect two leads to the CPAP in order...More
I have stayed here many times and it seems the standards are falling especially when it comes to cleaning. Arrived Tuesday afternoon and found many black bugs all over the floor and bathroom also cockroaches. I suppose that’s why they leave a bottle of spray...More
Had a room for 3 adults. We had to ask for extra towels and enough tea, coffee and milk. The facilities were sub-standard and the cleanliness was appalling. There was literally mold growing up the side of the wall in the shower. I had to...More
We checked in late and were tired from driving. The process of getting keys etc was very fast and efficient. The rooms were clean and whilst not super modern, not that old fashioned either. The beds were comfy, the heating on the AC worked well...More
The room and amenities were above what I expected, we were only staying for the night while traveling to Darwin and it was fantastic. Close to the museums and shops, we experienced an easy check in (and out) plus a great nights sleep when staying.

2 days is not enough time to spend in the beautiful part of the country. But how long is enough time.....well that depends on the individual. The Stockmans Hall of Fame is great and so too is QANTAS. Spend some time at the coffee shops and meet plenty of locals. Ask if they would take you to a cattle station where you will experience the REAL bush. I was in Townsville yesterday and by chance met an old lady sitting on a park bench. She looked lonely so I spoke with her. What a surpirse!! She was not lonely, she was in Townsville with her grangchildren, all the way from Winton (which is near Longreach and worth a visit). These people have some much to tell us "City folk", it will blow your mind to listen to them as they tell teir stories of fun and laughter and sorror. They are the salt of the Earth, the Gems of the Outback, the people all of us need to meet. Please spend some time with the locals. Ask Lloyd at the Stockman's (CEO) to help you meet some locals. Hes a nice friendly fellow, or talk to Sue at the BP. I hope this helps.
