We arrived and were shown to very large clean and well appointed rooms, hot showers after 21 mile walk, then down to the bar for evening meal and drinks. Food was excellent, beer was excellent, staff were friendly and efficient. Great nights sleep in very comfortable beds, Great breakfast served quickly and very tasty. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again
Spent a night here whilst walking C2C. This is a traditional village pub but with the bonus of being a welcoming b&b. When we arrived the staff were very friendly. Our room was enormous with a huge bathroom. The whole suite looked to have been recently refurbished. Due to Covid restrictions they were not serving food in the evening but we were able to get chips from the local chippy. A comfortable night was had. Breakfast was served by 2 very nice ladies who were happy to provide us with any requests. Plenty of food and tea. This pub is located directly opposite the CC walk from shap so is perfectly located for this.
We have just had food here on two consecutive nights and we're really impressed with the dishes we ordered and friendliness of the staff. I would strongly recommend this place and we will be back again
We had our sons 16th birthday meal hear the food was fantastic the service was fantastic nothing was too much trouble we were made to feel very welcome a lovely family pub and lots of fabulous deserts to choose from too
Arrived at what looked like a working men's club to be greeted by a very nice young man who put heating on straight away, in the area we were sitting. We ordered our meals which arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it was delicious. Freshly cooked flaky haddock with hand cut real chips and a massive double burger with bacon, cheese and salsa. Defeated the pair of us and was a reasonable price of £12.50 each. Would definitely recommend a visit to eat.
