We needed a venue to celebrate my fathers life with family and friends. The Bull was selected from other local venues so we visited to check out what we were being offered. Sarah Deveraux was extremely welcoming and showed me around and the menu choices. We went for the hot food menu as it was December and cold. On the day we had the garden room which suited our numbers perfectly. The food was stunning. The beef lasagne was rich and delicious and the vegetable moussaka was very special. The salads and vegetables were fresh and there was a lovely pudding selection. Coffee and tea were limitless. The staff especially Kasha looked after us extremely well and covered a couple of issues we over looked. Gluten free and different foods were instantly taken care of without any fuss. There is not enough praise for everyone at the Bull Hotel that looked after us. Thank you once again for making our day so special.

We have just come back from afternoon tea, the food was very good but the surroundings left a lot to be desired. We had booked for 2.15 and when we arrived the place was packed with a wedding party. We had to wait for three quarters of an hour for a table, as I am 86 and it was a birthday treat it was very uncomfortable. When we eventually got a table it was still noisy until the wedding party went. I suggest they don’t serve afternoon tea on a Saturday or let people know it will be crowded and noisy.

Dear Saveylady Thank you for taking the time to review The Bull Hotel, following your recent visit for afternoon tea. I am delighted that you describe the food as very good. Please accept my apologies for the delay experienced upon your arrival. Usually the team do avoid taking larger bookings for afternoon tea, when a wedding is also scheduled to be using the lounge. I am sorry that you were kept waiting and that the public areas were busy with the wedding party. I do hope that this isolated incident will not deter you from returning to the hotel in the future. Thank you for taking the time to share your constructive feedback. Belatedly, on behalf of everyone at The Bull we would like to wish a very Happy Birthday. Kind regards Lesley Denyer Customer Service Manager

I was disappointed the room had furniture from 1960 and we had to walk through musty horrible areas to get to it. Found someone's sandwich in the fridge which was handed to reception. Cream tea was appalling sandwiches had next to nothing content. Considering the price charged I won't stay again. The one star is for staff who made every effort to be engaging.
