We knew this motel would be no frills and that was fine with us. We also had our dogs with us and so this choice seemed great as their website said they were dog friendly. We like Mom and Pop motels, in fact prefer them when we're travelling in Canada as they're convenient and you can park right outside the door. They just seem "easier". That said, we were disappointed. The owner barked at us (no pun intended) as soon as I entered the office door and was cold and rude throughout the check-in process. There was no coffee maker in the room, the water was so godawful sulphery that you couldn't drink it and the room had a faint whiff of mustiness or....something.....(old dog urine maybe?) At any rate, we brought in our dogs' pillows as we didn't want them laying on the carpet.

This is a great value hotel if you just need a crash pad. Nothing fancy, the room had 2 beds, Microwave, fridge, TV, and bathroom. No restaurant on site. A very large backyard gives room for the dog to run, the owner's dog is also out there on an electronic fence.

A quiet property, away from everything, but close enough for Upper Canada Village, and Morrisburg.

It's Clean and well kept, the owner obviously makes an effort to keep the property up to date. The rooms are cozy and comfortable.
If your heading to Upper Canada Village it's a great place for an overnight stay and it's only 5 minutes from the Village.

Great family run budget motel. 10 unit motel, good size rooms, Our room was very clean. Satellite TV, wifi, microwave & fridge included. Participated at the Battle of Crysler's farm Remembrance day ceremony (Upper Canada Village) and the motel is 3 minutes from the site.

This is a budget friendly motel which we decided to try instead of the Morrisburg Inn and we're so glad we did. The rooms are basic, but very clean. Check in and out was very flexible since we came in late the one night. It's nice and quiet - about 10 minutes tops from Morrisburg proper. We have family in the area and will come here again if there is the need for overflow accommodations! Oh, they are also pet friendly which we appreciate!

We made a reservation at the motel which was confirmed to be a suite for the same rate of a standard room since all standard rooms were not available and we were only 2 adults. 24 hours before our arrival, we called to check for the directions and were shocked to find out that they've cancelled our reservation due to "double booking" and the story changed to no suites were available. We drove from Toronto! I guess it was more profitable to get a suite rate from another booking with total disregard to our inconvenience! No apologies and rude! We booked instead at the Mcintosh Country Inn and it was fabulous and no comparison to the cheap quality of this motel and best of all...it was for the same rate!! So...run to Mcintosh Country Inn, Morrisburg

This place is not in Morrisburg or close to any anemeties. It smells like mold and the water smells like it came from a nearby swamp. "Norman Bates" the owner has zero social skills and the above ground pool is locked and for decoration only. Not family friendly at all! Best advice on this one is to keep on driving.

We stayed here for one night as it's located near Upper Canada Village.

It was no frills accomodation but the air-con, mosquito screens and fridge all worked just fine. The bed was comfy and the rooms were also equipped with a microwave. The motel is close to the road but there is little traffic so noise is not a problem.

There is a small above-ground pool which the kids used and said was warm enough.

There is a restaurant just down the road with the town of Morrisburg being a couple of miles away. The town is no-frills too with gas stations, one supermarket, a couple of takeaways and a Tim Horton's

I had driven by this motel previously and was impressed with its well kept lawn, flowers, and tranquil appearance. I was not disappointed with my stay. Its rooms are furnished simply, but comfortably, and reminded me of a traditional lodge, rather than a motel. Extra amenities included a microwave and small fridge. As I was travelling with a small dog, I was pleased to see the laminate floors, not carpet, and appreciated the fact that the owners appear to be dog lovers too.

So we were expecting very little from this location based on previous reviews. First, what was great: it was very clean, beds were pretty comfortable, new tv, fridge and microwave in the room, new chairs, staff was very helpful, even provided extra towels for the kids and very convienient to Upper Canada Village. What was not so great: No phone, no internet, mostly news channels and pay-per-view for the tv so, not much for the kids to watch, building is dated, so although very clean, there are slow running drains, painted-over heaters (temperature can only be changed by staff with a key) and some mould in the grout around the tiles in the bathroom. Unusual: No computer at front desk, the guest registry is a large book, previous guests mentioned their reservation was lost, most likely was not entered in the book, there was also an error with ours, but the staff made good by providing us with another room for a reduced rate. Guests register using the carbon copy guest cards. There is debit/credit by interac, so it seems they have started to join the 21st century there. Overall, not a bad place to stay for a night, but a few more modern comforts might make it better for longer visits.

Yes. The owners have a dog. The room I stayed in had a laminate floor, making clean-ups easier. Fortunately, my dog behaved well and I didn't need to take advantage of this feature. :)
