My mother and I stayed for 1 night in the Newfoundland 1 Room. The room was large and bright with great views toward the ocean out one window and over the town out the other. The bathroom is large and the shower is roomy with great water pressure. The location is perfect- close to shops, restaurants and The Rising Tide Theater. Alma is a wonderful host, friendly and very welcoming. She served us a delicious breakfast of cereal with granola and fruit, toast and scrambled eggs, yogurt, date squares and juice. I would absolutely recommend this gem if you are visiting the area!

We spent three nights at The Compass and are very glad we did. A purpose-built B&B, it is quite new, airy, nicely decorated, and well-located. Bedrooms are a generous size as well. It is Alma, though, who is at the heart of an excellent stay. As other reviewers have noted, she is friendly, knowledgeable, and capable. She also produces a great breakfast and animates the morning conversation with razor-sharp wit. Alma does not live onsite, but rather commutes from two villages away to welcome guests, and to get the kitchen organized each day. During our stay she also let us in on a valuable travellers’ secret: stay for three nights and you will be shown where the washing machine is located! If you are looking to spend some time in Trinity, The Compass is an excellent choice.

The Compass was a lovely little B&B. Alma, the host, was really accommodating and friendly. Her breakfasts were truly unique as she took pains to created new dishes each day. She even explained how she tested the dishes on her family before trying them on her guests. The Compass is very central in the beautiful town of Trinity, one of our favourite places.

We stayed here for 3 nights and even though the weather was not great the B & B was!
Booking was easy and Alma, our host, gave us a call and handled payment seamlessly. The property is very clean and well laid out with an open sitting area, kitchen and dining table.
Our room was the Newfoundland 1 on the main floor and was very bright and a good size. The bathroom and shower were excellent. We had access to evening tea and coffee and could use the fridge and make a snack if we wanted to with our own supplies.
Breakfast was served at 8:30 am each day and the guests sat around a community table. All very good.
The top rating is warranted because of the quality of the B & B and because of Alma's care and attention for us. Alma has a personal touch which is not always present in some B & B's. It is obvious she is proud of the area and the people who live and work there.
We have no problem recommending a stay here and will return if we find our way back to the Trinity area.

We spent 2 nights here visiting the beautiful Trinity and wouldn’t hesitate to return. The hostess Alma is great, providing great breakfasts and the b&b has everything you need. Our room as I imagine each of the rooms does, had a coastal view with a couple of restaurants available in walking distance for lunch/ dinner. Just perfect!

The Compass B&B is a lovely place right in the heart of the historical village of Trinity. The decor is very nicely done and the rooms are quite spacious. We found the beds very comfortable but most of all, loved having a view of the ocean right from our room. The host Alma made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. She had a delightful sense of humour and she gave us suggestions for restaurants as well as provided detailed instructions on how to access the Skerwink Trail ( a must-do if you enjoy a challenging hike with spectacular views!). Alma served us some delicious breakfasts (cold cereal and fruit, followed by a hot breakfast that changed each day we were there) and all the guests joined together each morning to swap stories of their adventures and to share recommendations of places to go and things to see. Staying at the Compass was a wonderful experience that we would highly recommend to others. Top marks to both the B&B and Alma!

We stayed here for three nights with another couple we were traveling with. There was no one here to greet us when we checked in and the manager does not live on site. We were given instructions by email to how to find the front door key.
The living room area and bedrooms were very comfortable. The bed was very good and shower fair. It could be more powerful for my liking. We were able to use the refrigerator. And the laundry room because we were staying three nights.
Alma, the manager, was very nice and gave us a lot of information on the area. She came and cooked us breakfast every morning. I have to eat gluten free, so she tried to accommodate my needs. I was very disappointed though, that our last morning there, she got confused and thought I couldn't eat dairy ( I had been using the milk on cereal the past two days). She made a special breakfast with two types of cheese, but I wasn't included in it and she didn't think to contact me to check. She had left ingredients at her house, so she couldn't make it up last minute for me.
The building is up a steep gravel road, so we left our car in the parking lot when we could and walked.

The Compass B&B has an excellent location on a small hill in the center of Trinity. Walk everywhere within 5 minutes. Alma is a great hostess and her husband in fact purpose built the home for the current owner. Nice spacious rooms but be careful sound travels in a quiet place like this. Would stay here again.

We experienced a wonderful two night stay at the Compass B&B and wish we had booked a few more days. Lovely and spacious accommodations with beautiful views and plentiful and delicious breakfasts prepared by Alma, who was the most delightful host. The little town of Trinity is very quaint and we took in a play at the local theatre which was only a short walk from the B&B. Highly recommend and would definitely stay at the Compass B & B again.

We travelled as a couple, so our room had a queen bed - I'm not sure what the set-up was in the other bedrooms. You might find the information on their website, or contact the B&B directly.
