Detailed Reviews
Have stayed here at Sherwood many times over the years. We really like the location. Great place for hiking and also close to the brewery. Cabins are very clean and very comfortable beds. They are well stocked with everything you need for a short stay or a long one.
On another note it is time for a bit of cosmetic work. Cabins now need some TLC. Paint and plaster wouldn’t go astray along with replacing all the old tiles on the floors. Also need new picnic tables as well.

Over the years we stayed in Sherwood Suites 9 times. Bath and kitchen are always spotless clean and bed is comfortable. Staff is courteous and respond promptly to requests.
What needs to be done: check the walls for stains and improve WiFi. WiFi is useless; you can't use it for video conference and such. Cellular coverage at this spot is bad and absence of normal WiFi is very inconvenient.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. We recently stayed here for 3 nights to explore Trinity, Bonvavista and the quaint little coves all around the peninsula. We stayed in room #13 and it had everything we needed to prepare breakfast and dinners and make our stay very enjoyable. The rates very very reasonable and would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Walking distance to a great local brewery, the seaside, the best little cafe in the Trinity Bight and, a 4 minute drive to the entrance of one of the top hiking trails in the world, The Skerwink Trail. Beds are super comfie and even the regular rooms have a tiny kitchenette. A separate laundry facility and a location in the beautiful woods overlooking the sea makes this place pretty wonderful. I have another visit booked in a couple of weeks and look forward to staying there again.

My daughter and I had a two bedroom unit. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. When we couldn't get a lamp to work, another lamp was brought to us right away. This location was perfect for us to hike the Skerwink Trail, explore Bonavista, see the puffins in Elliston and explore the Trinity and Bonaventure areas. I would stay there again.

The location was great. The outside deck was spacious and nice to sit out on during a nice day. The price was reasonable for a place to stay in the area, though it was surprising to be asked to pay an extra $10 for your child if they are over 5 years old, given that there are enough beds in the suite to accommodate them - having an extra person didn’t really require much extra of the property. I read that these suites are under new management and will be undergoing renovations which will certainly be appreciated by guests to make this a more appealing place to stay while visiting the area.

This would be my 5th or 6th time, since 2009, staying at Sherwood Inn and Suites. Having a ‘home base’ to venture from appeals to my style of travelling. Port Rexton is the perfect (mid-penninsula) location from which to visit the area sites.
Over the years continous updating of the buildings and the suites has been evident. This visit I noted the new windows and interior painting but the biggest improvement was the new mattresses- very comfortable!
The kitchens in the suites have everything one needs to make themselves at home.
I’ll be back!

An absolutely stunning setting for the cottage over looking the harbour and lighthouse at Port Rexton on the Bonavista Peninsula, Newfoundland. We saw White Tailed Eagles, fish boats working and cod drying on racks right in front of the cottage. It was quintessential Newfoundland! Easy accessibility to all of the Bonavista area. The cottage was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. Great wrap around deck overlooking the ocean with a BBQ.

We had a two bedroom, plenty of room. A couple kitchen items were missing and the staff provided them right away. The view from our deck included parts of the Fox Island trail. Groceries, trails, restaurants, brewery and the town of Trinity are easily accessed by car. The trails are great

We have stayed here a number of times. We love the location and the price is definitely fair. Staff are always most accommodating. Beds are comfy and clean. Kitchen and bathroom spotless as well.
Having said that, the time has definitely come for sone cosmetic improvements ... a bit of plastering and a fresh coat of paint goes a long way. Would hate to see these lovely cottages/motel rooms go downhill. Still love this area and staying here!
