Detailed Reviews
This inn was such a great place to stay. Our room was very cozy, comfortable, and clean. The owner was friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. Just a short walk from the house is Mifflin's Tea Room where we ate a delicious dinner and breakfast. At the time we visited there was a hop on/hop off bus tour which you could book through Mifflin's Inn. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Newfoundland! The bus driver was a resident of the area and took us on an amazing tour. So much to see, but our favourite stop was viewing the puffins, such an incredible experience!

Nicely decorated and appointed home conveniently located near theatres, restaurants and pubs in the heart of Bonavista. Clean and tidy but with historic charm. I would return and would highly recommend it.

Friendly and helpful staff. Very nice and clean with lots of privacy in the Samson room and close access to a kitchen and backyard firepit for guests to use. Breakfast at the tea room was great as well! Would highly recommend.

This beautifully cared for home was absolutely the best accommodation we could have asked for. Plenty of amenities, walking distance to fine dining and most of all, a welcoming, knowledgeable host. Dean gave us great advice for getting the best experience in Bonavista and beyond.

This renovated heritage home offers complete privacy and unlimited access to the house. Rooms are very comfortable and the owner goes out of his way to ensure that guests have the best visit possible. He also owns the tea room across the street where breakfast is served, and the meals and service are exceptional. I would look forward to staying here again.

Planned for 1 night, stayed for 3! Perfect location in heart of Bonavista. Walked to entertainment next door @ famous Garrick Theatre, local pub & Historical sites (Ryan Premises Fishery Museum & Matthews Project). Short drive to puffin nesting grounds, root cellars and Cape Bonavista Lighthouse. After we'd done all that, relaxed back at the Heritage Inn or "home" on the front porch, in the backyard and/or the living room. For dinner, walked across the street to Mifflin's Tea Room's licensed patio for fresh, pan fried cod, despite variety of options on menu. Could also have cooked our own dinner in the fully equipped kitchen at the Heritage Inn. Icing on the cake was the a la carte breakfast menu (with gluten free options) from 8 - noon!

+1
A timber clad heritage house makes for a very welcome change from a chain hotel indeed! Bonavista is so small everywhere is within walking distance. Mifflins is a few metres off the main street and very quiet.
The lady who owns here ( and the tea rooms) is a lovely friendly, helpful person. A lovely spotless bedroom and modern bathroom with a super comfy bed guaranteed our nights sleep.
You won't be disappointed! we would for sure stay again if ever we are near again.
The thoughts of a wandering Irishman and his delightful GF from Mauritius.!
Canadians….do not lose these treasures!
We finally discovered the wonderful Bed & Breakfasts of Canada! At first we thought they were like the US where the B & B owners seem to think it is a privilege for a guest to stay and charge exorbitant rates. Not so Canada. These are absolute gems and we will stay nowhere else. They are friendlier, often cleaner, more charming and personable than any Motel….and in most cases actually cheaper! What more could you ask for?][
Canada…..these are a fantastic alternative to the chains. The money goes straight to the pocket of the usually delightful owners and not into the coffers of some impersonal, accountant run corporation.
Do use them and don’t lose them. In Ireland they thrive, and thankfully so.

My mom and I stayed in this beautiful heritage home on July 22nd, 2014 for one night while making our way from St. John's to Woody Point (we were visiting Newfoundland for the first time from Ontario). This home is charming and filled with character, not to mention very well cared for by Dene and his wife. The gardens are stunning too! We had a delicious breakfast (included in the price of the accommodations) with friendly service (from Dene's niece) at the Mifflin's Tea Room (a few doors down from the Inn). Dene stopped by the tea room while we were having breakfast to check in with us to make sure we had a good night's stay and to ask us if we had any suggestions for how to make future guests' even more comfortable in the home. Dene took the time to explain the history of the Mifflin's Tea Room and the Mifflin's Heritage Inn and gave us directions for a scenic and direct route back to the Trans Canada Highway to continue our journey to Gros Morne National Park. Absolutely wonderful hospitality and customer service! A heartfelt thank you to Dene and his niece for making our stay in Bonavista a pleasant and memorable one!
