We had a fantastic stay here. Bed was comfortable, room was very spacious and clean. Mary was so helpful and we had a delicious breakfast with great service as well. Furthermore, we very much enjoyed our upgrade to a suite! We would highly recommend this B & B.

Property's Favorite Review
We are a family of two adults, a teenager and a golden retriever. I was more than pleased with our stay. We enjoyed our room, the environment, the courtyard and breakfasts immensely. The only staff we came in contact was our chef extraordinaire, Donna. She was so accommodating, she probably would’ve done a cartwheel if we asked her to! We noticed her extra efforts to all guests, inclining vegans and vegetarians. She was kind enough to allow us to bring an extra guest to breakfast on our last day. She personally escorted us to make sure we knew how to access the courtyard that all of us, especially our young dog, enjoyed. The room, bathroom, cozy robes, fireplace were oh-so-nice. I would note that if your older or have knee issues, you may not be comfortable with the loft ladder. The decor in all areas is top-notch. I typically choose the most modern places to stay, but was intrigued by the old firehouse and am so glad we made this choice. I will definitely be back!

My husband and I needed a getaway and booked a night at the inn. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pancakes with fresh fruit and breakfast bowl were delicious. Mary , the Innkeeper and Donna, the breakfast chef were extremely friendly and accommodating. It was a great experience.

From the minute we walked in and met Mary the Inn keeper then we saw the room with the fireplace huge Jacuzzi tub. The next morning woke up and chef Donna was preparing our breakfast, then sitting down with other guests for great conversation and the last day we had million dollar bacon….fantastic. The biggest room I’ve ever stayed in the place is an absolute 10!! I would stay again.

We spent 3 delightful days at the Inn in Room #1 in late November 2023. The space in this suite is amazing, the bed was comfy, and the bathroom was super. Mary the Innkeeper greeted us enthusiastically, welcoming us into her Inn, and conducted a personal tour of the place. (The Christmas decorations were outstanding!) Donna (our awesome cook) treated us very well, had the coffee ready by 6:30 am, and was always ready to accommodate our wishes. She is also a wealth of historical information. Be sure to check out the courtyard. This is a place we will visit again, and we have added it to our Special Hotels list. Our only regret is that we didn't have time to use the fireplace or the soaking Jacuzzi tub! Sincere thanks to Mary and Donna for a memorable experience.

We had a luxurious stay at The Firehouse Inn. My mom wanted to come up and see the fall leaves and we chose this inn due to it having a ground floor room available. The only caveat was that Mom still had to climb the stairs to access the main common area and breakfast room, but she did so just fine taking her time and holding the rail. Room 6 on the ground floor with its own entry door is a veritable apartment! We spread out in 600 sq feet of living space and could have slept 4 more people in our room [two queen beds and two single beds]. We had a table and chairs, a living area with a TV, a giant closet, dressing area, and a fridge and microwave. I cannot say enough about Donna and the breakfasts. She is a delight who not only cooks gourmet breakfasts, she tells you all about the inn and the recipes and is so kind and personable. Each morning, breakfast was delicious and hearty and kept us full until supper time. The inn is decorated in tasteful furnishings, lighting, and wall coverings. The linens are comfy and high end. There is a lovely patio with tables and strings of lights where we sat one evening to have a glass of wine. The common area has a large fireplace with gas logs, access to ice, wine glasses, snacks, and water. We will be back!

We had such an enjoyable stay at the Firehouse Inn. Accommodations were comfortable and cozy. Much care was taken with cleanliness and decor. To top it off breakfast both days was amazing. Donna, our chef, was fabulous and made us all feel like we were family. We would highly recommend a stay here.

The Firehouse Inn is absolutely gorgeous and Kitty has paid attention to the details. We rented the entire inn for the weekend for grandparents, other family members, and groomsmen for a wedding in Forest City. We had the best time gathering together for breakfast at the 9 person round table sharing about the evening before and having a welcoming place to rest throughout the day. Donna made 2 fabulous breakfasts making sure everyone’s needs and wishes were met. We stayed in room 1. The bed was super comfortable and it was the perfect room to get ready for the parents of groom with an extra large closet and full length mirror. The location is great to walk shops, restaurants and hair salon(if needed for wedding). Staying at the inn made our wedding weekend even more memorable!

We have been to this inn several times and have never been disappointed. The inn is charming, comfortable and beautifully decorated. It was once a firehouse and was converted. It has really high ceilings and beautiful arched windows. Our favorite part of our stay is always breakfast. This time we had German apple pancakes, million dollar bacon, stirred eggs and fruit smoothies. What a great way to start the day! We enjoy chatting with Donna, the chef, and Talia, the housekeeper, such nice people.

I have never stayed in a bed and breakfast where you never met the owner. No one lives on site so I find that odd. With a B and B you expect to have a more personable stay to find out about the area and the history of the Inn. The only people we met was someone who gave us the key. Its a good thing she was there because the key was not in the mail box like expected. Also the person cooking breakfast was very nice and friendly. The place is clean and had most things you would expect. Lets talk breakfast since it is half of what you pay for. They did accommodate one persons food allergies. But to say the least they were underwhelming. The first day was scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. The next day was egg puffs, sausage and toast. You expect things you would not prepare yourself at home. Just an FYI for the owner. Also there is a beautiful courtyard that NO ONE tells you about and we went looking for. Had to go through 2 closed doors with all the lights off. Not very welcoming. This should be a highlight of the grounds.
