If you expect customer service and to be respected DO NOT stay at this property. The owner has absolutely no customer service (multiple reviews says this) or respect for your personal belongings. Called her regarding a cat getting on my car and she immediately disregarded me and as if it “couldn’t happen” with no regard. It then proceeded to her telling me to get the “f***” off her property. She even called the the sheriff and showed up with her husband that acted like a fool as well. We were made by the police to leave the property when we were supposed to stay another night. We were barely granted an hour to gather all of our belongings and clean the house so that we weren’t charged for cleaning. Such trashy people and service!

Thank you for choosing to stay at our place, more than once. We always appreciate the business, and we appreciate our guests. However we do not tolerate being verbally abused, sworn at, called vulgar names, and threatened by a guest. And this was all over a stray cat walking across your car?? We are located on a family farm, you were staying in a farmhouse. You have been here before. We cannot control where a cat walks. When you made threats to leave bad reviews? And to trash my home? That is when you were removed from our property by the sheriff. The same sheriff who asked you to calm down and back up or you would be arrested. You left out the fact that one of your children left their iPhone behind which I shipped to you at no cost. You are welcome.

They don't provide the coffee," you're renting a cabin, you're not at a hotel" us what I was rudely told when I called in the morning to ask. It was my mistake to assume there would be a coffee packet in the room when it states there's a coffee pot, but nowhere does it say to bring your own. I had called a few hours before check in, asking what ammenities were in the room, again, another opportunity for the owner to tell me they don't provide the coffee, but nothing was said. When I tried to smooth over the conversation this morning, saying it's no big deal, I just didn't know to ask about bringing coffee, she hung up on me. WOW.... okay.

We had three trucks with trailers loaded with motorcycles and there was plenty of parking for all and the bikes were protected under the car port which was a plus. Our trucks had thick tree sap on them after a few days, so be sure and park under cover if possible. The location is good and driveway, although gravel, fairly easy to navigate with motorcycles right out to Route 129. We stayed 6 nights, 6 adults 9/15-20/19. House has three bedrooms and 2 baths, nice lay out to the house and comfy living area. We used the beds in the living room to put our gear on, did not sleep there. The beds are typical for a rental, clean bedding and OK to sleep on. Bathrooms ok and plenty of clean towels which we washed every few days. Washer and dryer worked fairly well. We took our own laundry detergent and softener as that is not provided. The shared bathroom tub had a large crack in the middle of the tub floor, which was taped with slight leakage of water onto the bathroom floor as a result. Otherwise the shower worked if no water was running elsewhere in the house, but you had to be careful not to stand on the cracked area. Unsafe. Big issue was a lack of water pressure. We could only run one thing at a time: one shower, clothes washer, flush a toilet, or run the dishwasher, etc. If we tried to take a shower in both bathrooms there was not enough water pressure in either but a trickle. Had trouble flushing the master toilet. Owner did not come to look at it, said just flush it twice, which did not typically work either. Several times we had to add water to the stool or the tank to make it flush. The kitchen is roomy with a nice dining area. The cupboards need cleaned; dead bugs and mouse poop here and there. We washed every dish and pan prior to using them. The stove was functional but dirty and we had to run the self-cleaning oven operation, then clean it and wipe all the grease off and scour the top before we could use it. There are missing door knobs and kitchen cabinet trim, so don’t be surprised. We texted the owner about the un-cleanliness of the house, about cleaning the stove for us, which we ended up having to do ourselves. Basically the house was surface cleaned only. So if you are picky as me you will notice the dust, cobwebs, dirt in the closets from shoes, etc. For example the top of the refrigerator was thick with dust and grime and we cleaned it so we could store our items on top. Prior to staying the owner told us what was supplied and some things were not there so we texted a list of our needs, got some things and not others. The owner Cathy, did not respond to texts so I called her. She was irate, rude and unprofessional. She told me to get out of her house and take it up with the credit card company, she would not calm down so I could have a conversation with her. She hung up on me twice and told me I had “a problem if I had to clean the top of someone else’s refrigerator”. But when paying roughly $200 a night it’s not her house anymore, but the renters. So, we had a bad experience with the owner and she was not professional in the handling of our complaints and requests. One of the other gals had to call her and calm her down, so from then on we just took care of things ourselves, which we felt we paid Dragon’s Rest for. Especially when paying a $100 cleaning fee, we left this house cleaner than when we arrived.

In response to your review I would like to thank you for the positive things you had to say about this particular rental. This particular rental has had many, many guests stay in it over the years. This rental is booked back to back every season. The spacious layout of this home, the many amenities that come with it like everything you need in the kitchen to prepare meals. We even provide mixers, blenders, crock pots, iron and ironing board. Including other household items like trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher soap, sponges, paper towels, toilet paper, soaps, shampoos, Kleenex, air freshnesners, even Qtips! Not to mention what the outside offers. A double carport, two covered and seated porches facing the gorgeous creek that is forty feet from this home. The mountain and wooded views that surround this home. A gas grill, private fire pit and a game room within walking distance. At 175.00 a night this is a steal for a 1800 square foot home with three bedrooms and two full baths. However it seems as most of our guests love this rental it apparently was not what you expected. I am not at all surprised. Before you even arrived I had received multiple emails requesting certain items. Example asking me what food items were provided? Like coffee, popcorn, spices? And was laundry soap provided? The list went on and on prior to your arrival. Not even a few hours into your arrival you said you started sending me text messages with complaints? I told you I had not got them. You were texting to our office landline. When we finally did connect the next day you started blasting me about everything from dust on a bedroom lamp shade, dust on the back part of the top of the fridge, tree sap? Accusing me of not washing the bathroom rugs which I as the owner personally washed that morning. And your complaint that eight rolls of toilet paper and three rolls of paper towels would not get you thru for the 4 days you had left on the rental. And I then gave you another 12 pack of tissue paper. In thirteen years of business I have never dealt with such petty complaints. And yes I told you to leave. If a guest is that unhappy because of only having eight rolls of toilet tissue I do not want that negativity spreading to my other guest who are here to enjoy what our area has to offer. I gave you the option to leave since you were so upset, but you continued to stay. That in itself tells me things were not as bad as you were making it out to be. As for the fiberglass tub it is scheduled to be replaced as soon as our season ends in a few weeks. Issues like that cannot be done in a moments notice on a booked rental . That I do apologize for, but it is no way a structural issue, just a typical fiberglass crack.

Could use more lighting over mirror for make up application. Also our bed in Cabin #3 sounded like we were rolling over a bag of potato chips every time we rolled. The TV and AC worked great. The porch with table and chairs was nice. Cabin #3 we couldn’t sit on our porch once the sun come up over the mountain. It was very hot in July! We just went and sat with our other 4 cabins. Loved the sunrises.

My husband and I really enjoyed our peaceful, cozy stay at the cabin at Dragon's Rest. Everything was clean and comfortable for our 2-night stay. The people were friendly as well. We made good use of the convenient washer and dryer that they have on the property.
