This resort had been our go-to place every time we visit Aklan. We prefer the Jawili beach more than Boracay because the area is still serene.

We would normally check-in to this resort 2-3 times a year. We loved the service and the staff are all helpful. But things changed, I think around 2013/2014, when the management changed and the former staff were let go. Rooms were not properly maintained. There's no curfew for video. Resort were no longer well-lighted than it used to.

We still would go to this resort despite the depreciation of service. Until January 1st 2016, when we woke up late at night with a man (faced covered in shirt) in our room. He was able to take some of our cash. I am grateful though that we were not hurt at that vulnerable moment as the man also took our cutter. The door lock was not in good shape but, we initially thought that the resort was secured and gated. (It seems the thief is very familiar with the resort or even has the access to the resort).

Response from the staff was late since they have been drinking prior to the incident. They assisted us, though, in reporting the incident to local government. The official said they had an idea who the person was but no action/apprehension was made. Too bad.

It's sad that the resort we get to love could not keep its service and security quality high.

Resorts here are not geared toward foreign guests only local people.None of the resorts have a restaurant as local people usually visit in groups and cook their own food on provided barbecues.
I prepaid for a standard room with fan. My hut was built of bamboo, timber sheeting ceiling and partially tiled bathroom. Gaps in the flooring allow for bugs. You will not find a picture of it on Agoda. Misleading advertising. The room comprised of sponge mattress bed, two bamboo chairs, coffee table plus tidy bin and pedestal fan. Nothing to hang anything, chairs and table are your shelving. Long metal rod in the bathroom to hang towels and wet clothes. Water bucket to flush toilet. Cold water shower worked okay. No mirror anywhere.
If I were to stay there again I would pay the extra for an aircon room in the concrete building. I did not bother with their wifi as I found my internet package more reliable.
The staff are friendly but once your checked in your on your own. On my first morning a staff member scaled a tree and prepared a free buko for me. Unexpected but appreciated.
The nearest place for food is about 1km back down the road at Cabs Hantien fish ponds complex.
Both mornings I was awoken by barking from the dog next door.
After visiting Jawili Falls I walked back to my room about 15-20 minutes.
Yes, it's off the tourist trail but if you want a big long beach virtually to yourself then this will accommodate. I suspect weekends would be somewhat busy with locals.

Bienvenido a WAVE BEACH RESORT. El sitio al que usted NO debería ir nunca. Hay otros sitios muy cerca donde SI será usted bien recibido y tratado con educación y respeto.

Jawili is an excellent beach destination, off-the-beaten tourist path, away from the crowds, yet so close to Boracay and Kalibo. The Wave Beach Resort is right in front of Jawili Beach itself and just an 8min walk to Jawili Falls. I stayed in a bamboo style cottage with a fan and a private bath. Though I only stayed here for 1 night, it was perfect for a bit of a beachfront rustic getaway with some peace and quiet. With no restaurants around, the staff can cook for you. I had breakfast and dinner here, at the little cottage enjoying the sounds of the waves. The owner even told his staff to give me fresh buko / coconut juice, which they just cut & picked from the tree… so refreshing. Overall, I had a great experience here.
