Detailed Reviews
I will start with the check-in process. The door to the front desk is locked and you have to go to another door that enters into the soda/ice machine room where there is a window reminiscent of a prison visit and commence screaming through the glass to the front dest person. There is even the sliding drawer like at the drive-through bank to pass your drivers license to the Econo Lodge employee.
When entering the actual room, there was a musty smell that never went away. The bed was on some sort of metal frame that made thumping noises every time you moved on the bed. The bathroom was the scariest part. There was a constant drip of the bathtub faucet that could not be turned off. The ceiling of the shower had multiple sheetrock repairs along with what looked like mold. Parts of the shower plumbing were missing from the wall and the hot and cold indicators for the water temperature were reversed. The floor was not clean with dust balls in the corners of the room.
I will say that the wifi was fast and the A/C worked albeit very loudly.
I know “econo” is in the name but as a Choice Hotels member who has stayed at other Econo Lodge hotels, this was the worst I have encountered. I would have complained but did not feel like screaming at the front desk employee through the small glass window with the thick glass. The website had beautiful pictures of the front lobby which is inaccessible to the guests and the pictures of the rooms look nothing like the in which we stayed. I have no idea how the reviews gave this place an “excellent” rating.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at.
There was no water in the bathroom for a shower.
Service was the worst, the guy at night told us we could check out at 12, then the morning guy said we could not since “so many people checked in that night” being platinum members we are always allowed a late check out. And our flight did not leave until about 3.
You don’t go to a lobby but a speak to them through a piece of plexi glass like a jail. Our kids felt unsafe. I woke up with bites all over my arms.
The service was rude and the agent was on his phone the whole time. I wish I had the 8000 points back.

First, not the worst hotel I have ever stayed at - but close. Don’t believe any of the reviews in the Choice Hotel website. Not even close to accurate. There is no lobby. You talk to staff through a glass window where paint is peeling above your head. The room was clean, but the air conditioner was noisy, the refrigerator was nosier, the toilet seat was held on with only one bolt, sheets were rough and towels thin. Outside area was dirty. For one night we made is work

This hotel had 4.7/5 review so we booked it using Choice Privileges points, & were charged an additional $17. Upon arrival, we were charged another $50 deposit & $20 for check in 2 hours early. When I called ahead a few days before to ask about early check in, I was told $20, then, no, he changed it to $40. I've never had to pay an early check in fee so I called Choice directly & they were told $30 by the location. So which is it? Seemed shady. We arrived 2 hrs early day of, & were charged $20. We were also charged $50 deposit. Staff at check in wasn't very friendly. Room was not as appeared online, it was very old & in desperate need of repair/updating. It was dirty in all corners, baseboard, etc. It reeked of air freshener spray or a plug in, but we couldn't find a plug in. Left the door open for an hour while we waited for other friends to arrive at their hotel across the street. The fragrance hadn't dissipated at all. I'm allergic to fragrance, and since it was so heavy in the room I got very nauseous & a headache. Called desk & she said they don't use air fresheners, that it must be the Fabuloso they clean the floors with. Absolutely! That stuff smells so strong! We were in a serious time crunch & she offered to put a machine in the room to try to remove the smell, but with my allergy & the fact we'd not be back till very late, didn't want to chance it still smelling & having to try to find another room elsewhere, so we asked her to check us out & refund us all we paid. She told me she can't do that - I'd have to call Choice. We got a room at another Choice hotel close by but paid double the price. It was decent, but still not the best. Few days later, called Choice, (out of country reps, not in USA) they wont give me my money back, they want to give it to me in points. This is the second issue I've had in 2 months with one of their hotels (the 1st was bedbugs & room key not working several times), so I denied getting points instead of money. They refuse to credit my card so I have to dispute it with my cc company. Choice doesn't care about you & this hotel is terrible. NOT a 4.7/5. but maybe a 2/5 at best. Run away!
