While the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel boasts a selection of amenities that guests appreciate, such as a well-equipped gym and an inviting indoor heated pool, opinions on the rooms are divided—some acknowledge modern touches and great views, but many describe them as outdated and not well-kept. The rooftop bar adds charm, although the overall atmosphere receives mixed reviews. In terms of value and service, travelers have expressed dissatisfaction, pointing out overpriced offerings and inconsistent customer service. Despite these concerns, the cleanliness of certain facilities like the gym is often praised.

Liked · On-site parking (but not the additional rate for a single car per room. I could see for additional cars. We had a single car for two rooms), on-site restaurants, pools, car service, social areas and the location was good. The staff we interacted with were nice.

Disliked · Rm 910 had no complimentary waters(had the card saying enjoy them), entrance & bathroom doors stick causing enough noise to wake person sleeping in the bed by the window; there was a used facial brush under the vanity, no washcloths, headphones/earbuds on top of the wardrobe, old dusty spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling, worn carpeting, discoloration of wallpaper, coffee maker was dirty, one outlet cover on the floor, no refrigerator or microwave (but plenty in storage room across the hall), luggage bench was in the bathroom (which we moved), vent in the shower didn’t work, dead space in the bathroom should have been made into a closet then you wouldn’t need the wardrobe taking up space in the actual room. Another chair could be put there & add more comfort. Fridge & microwave can fit under the dresser console and not impact room space. There was only one bar of soap, no “Do not Disturb” or privacy door hanger (we made one & taped on the door). This was all room 910. Rm 911 (also one of our rooms) had some of these same issues but not all. We ordered food at the restaurant & it took so long to get that they closed while we waited & one of the meals was wrong, but they couldn’t remake it and couldn’t give us a refund because they were closed. They said come back the next day & they’d remake it but we were checking out the next morning & didn’t want that then. We just wanted a refund or take it off the room. We asked at the desk & because we paid for the food with a card, they said a manager would have to do it. Why couldn’t you just have the restaurant refund us. The manager wasn’t around so they took our contact info, but we haven’t heard from them. The pool closes too early (8pm). The age shows on the property (worn carpet, torn upholstery, quick fix repairs, changes that weren’t thought out well). There’s a little more but I’ll just stop here.

My only issue was the toilet seemed over looked during the cleaning process, but I always carry alcohol and disinfectant as a frequent traveler. Jamilla went above and beyond to make sure our family had rooms right next to each despite having different reservations. Andy at happy made up for the long day’s drive with his welcoming and attentive hosting.

A well located and good value hotel. I was here with a group of friends from England to watch an NFL game.

The staff were exceptionally friendly.

They rooms in the Sheraton side of the two tower building (Le Meridian on the other) are now somewhat tired but I think that was reflected in the price we paid. It did not impact on our stay at all.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the NASCAR museum and a short further walk right into downtown Charlotte.

I used the swimming pool. It was unusually shallow but appeared to be clean. No lockers in the changing room which was strange for me. The gym was large and very well equipped - it was not one of the ‘broom cupboard’ gyms with 5 pieces of equipment often seen in hotels.

Overall, I recommend this hotel and if staying with friends or over on a short business trip, I would stay again. If for a romantic special weekend with the wife, I might not.

The quality of this hotel definitely does not correlate with the price of the room. If I am going to pay $200 a night for a hotel room (room, tax, and parking total), then it should at least have a functioning door to the bathroom. The door handle to the bathroom in our room had broken off, but the mechanics were still in the door. This caused the door to shut and lock one of our guests in the bathroom. We had to call for someone to come get her out. The man finally got to our room about 20 minutes after we called and he took a screwdriver and opened the door and left. How hard is it to put a new handle on a door?? Our room did not have a refrigerator or a microwave! What expensive hotel does not have these two amenities in every room now a days?? We had to take semi warm showers all weekend as there was barely any hot water which seemed to be the common theme amongst others throughout the weekend! A woman in our party complained and a man went to her room to check by holding his hand under the sink while the water was running and he said it felt fine to him! Also, our room for four people only came with 3 bath towels. It took two calls, hours apart, to the front desk for anyone to finally bring us more. Upon check out, the desk clerk was rude. He never asked how our stay was. He told me our bill was $255 when in fact it was $200.55. When I questioned him, he was very rude and spoke to me like a child saying that our $400 bill was split in half for each paying party and was $200.55. I said ok to that amount. Then, he handed me our receipt and said, “See... here it is. It says $255.” Seriously?! I told him that it was read as two hundred dollars and 55 CENTS! I explained our bad experience and he just said, “Sorry.” He didn’t apologize sincerely, he didn’t offer any discount nor for us to speak to a manager, even though another lady beside of us was complaining at the same time because she found a cigarette butt in her bed and her desk clerk discounted her parking amount from her bill. I asked for a survey and he typed on his computer and said he sent one to me, but he actually did not send one. Therefore, I am on here filing my complaint and warning others so you can spend your money elsewhere if you need to stay in this area!

Stayed here for a work trip for 3 nights. You’ll have to pay to park which is quite a bit of money considering the hotel has no amenities or perks to offer. The lobby is modern & clean, check in was quick. Room was on the 11th floor facing the freeway, the loud traffic was impossible to sleep through, even with bringing a portable white noise machine. Rooms did not have queen beds, instead they were smaller full size beds that really only sleep one person, the beds were comfy, but between the size of them & the constant sirens from the freeway, I was up 4-5x a night. The bathroom while updated, was tiny & not much thought was put into the design as the vanity is located in the middle of the wall with a good 2-3 ft of unusable space on each side which meant the toilet was wedged in a tight spot by the shower. The round toilets are ok for women or children, but if your a bigger guy you’ll find them awkward (anatomy wise) to sit on. A much bigger surprise was that there’s no microwave or fridge in the rooms, the coffee maker was perched on a flimsy table that could’ve easily been upgraded to a cabinet that could hold a fridge and place the coffeemaker on top. I found the coffeemaker dirty, I took it in the bathroom to rinse out the water tank to find dirty brown water coming out. Put it back on the table & the plug in cord is short, the closest outlet is behind a very large mirror that I discovered had only been leaning against the wall & was not secured in any fashion….just something to be aware as this could pose a huge risk to small children or clumsy adults that bump into it. Front desk was quick to send up extra towels & have the garbage picked up, this was the biggest positive of the hotel stay. The indoor pool is closed indefinitely per the front desk, & I was told that they had no idea when it would be open again. Was incredibly disappointed in this hotel even further when I overlooked the bill to find the conference group rate was not honored for the last night of the stay, nor the member rate for the first two nights.

Checked into the hotel, lobby is beautiful but the rooms are outdated and not cleaned very well. The housekeeping should spend this slow time detailing the rooms. The floors, baseboards, furniture, doors are in need of a major deep clean. I was never comfortable in the room it felt dirty. As an ambassador client I was very disappointed, I don’t recommend this hotel if you are a business traveler or with your children. The sheets were also very itchy, management has a lot to do to bring these rooms up to par.

The Charlotte Sheraton was disappointing in many ways. The parking for handicap guests is non-existent near the lobby. The valet staff uses the 4 spaces to park cars without handicap placards or stickers. Valet service is $35 a day extra. Self-parking in a garage is $25 a day with more access to handicap spaces. If you self park in the parking garage you will need to walk up to ramps, long hallways of the convention meeting areas to get to lobby. It was quite a journey for me with mobility issues especially causing more pain after a day at the convention center where you pay $20 daily to park.
The valet staff are rude if you don’t want to use their valet service. There are additional spaces near the lobby that are used by the private car service but cannot be used by handicapped.
Additionally the rooms are old but remodeled but not effectively. Water stains on ceiling that are unsightly.
The mini refrigerator that is the smallest size available sits on the floor next to a small stand alone closet by the desk. For an older person with degenerative hip, knee and spine problems accessing the refrigerator in nearly impossible. You need to sit on the floor to use it and it holds very little so bring small bags to put any takeout that needs refrigeration.
And not to mention the general staff like housekeeping who always say “No English” “no understand” so you then have to go downstairs or call the front desk to ask questions.
Will never stay here again. They don’t cater to the older generation.
I have tried for 2 days to contact hotel director, Mustafa Agha, with no response or call back. Very disappointing.

I had high expectations for the Sheraton in downtown Charlotte, but all of these expectations fell short. When we arrived there was no valet, no Bellman and no luggage carts. We checked in and went into our room which was dirty. I had made a reservation for four people but there were only towels for two. The carpet did not appear to have been vacuumed. There were marks all over the furniture from cups and glasses. There are no microwaves, refrigerators, or irons in the rooms. All of the beds are double beds which are way too small for two adults. The nightmare continued when I went to take a shower and there was no hot water. The entire three day stay, there was no hot water at the hotel. I reported it to the staff but they said it was a complete outage at the hotel. Because I had booked with Marriott reward points, they did nothing for me. I had asked for coffee which was never delivered. There was complementary coffee in the morning downstairs but it was so crowded, so it ran out quickly. All of the staff seemed completely overwhelmed. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since they were short staffed but after our horrible stay I reached out to the manager by email, and phone multiple times and have yet to hear back (3 weeks later) . I at least expected the general manager of this hotel to reach out to me and apologize for all of the shortcomings but I haven’t heard a word. This is the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had at a Marriott branded hotel

Upon attempting to get a reservation for a hotel room while traveling the Sheraton would not refund or allow me to change to the airport location. This was within 15 minutes of making the mistake. It was a terrible experience that could have been simply remedied. Clearly they do not put their customer first.

My experience at this hotel was the worst experience I've ever had from the second we arrived. We arrived to find out that the hotel overbooked and did not have the king sized bed that we reserved and paid for and that they could put us in a double room. We said no as there's no way 2 grown adults can share a double bed. Then one of the front desk people said they were queen beds so we accepted the room as we were on a time crunch and only had 1 hour to be at our event. Upon entering the room we then realized we were bold faced lied to. The beds were not queen size. My husband and I had to sleep in separate beds. The TV did not work at all, the safe in the room did not work, the ice maker on our floor, the 2 floors above us and 2 floors below us did not work either. The next morning when I went to check out I told Vanessa ( i believe that was her name) when she asked how our stay was that I had some complaints. Her response was "Ok, youngun, what are they?" She was incredibly rude and condescending as I am a 42 year old grown woman and not a child. Their front desk manager, Nazaar M., could barely speak English making him impossible to understand but he did not care at all that his hotel overbooked. There were numerous other people checking in when we did with the same complaint that their king room was not available. We will NEVER stay here again!
