Woodstock Inn on the Millsteam is fantastic! The room was amazing - so comfortable, with a fireplace, and a beautiful back porch right on the stream. It was wintertime but still so lovely. The breakfast was also lovely. Continental breakfast, but lots of great choices, and the innkeeper is lovely and so helpful. Also, the other guests were all so laid back and nice. I can't wait to visit again - and my teenagers liked it too!
We stayed in deluxe room 17 end of row, it had a very small shared porch with the adjacent room at the front.and is closest to the road. However try to book 16 or 15 ( + 14?) as they have proper outdoor seating areas to the rear. The holiday cottages looked lovely (probably in high demand) and there is also a row of more reasonably priced holiday rentals - 'terraced' rooms with a 'stoop' which runs from one end of the building to the other and with some seating outside of the rooms. We enjoyed our 3 nights there very much indeed. The grounds are very picturesque and laid mainly to lawn. Numerous seating, and tables doted around the garden areas, as well as alongside the the river bank + a couple of hammocks. The grounds enable one to pass a pleasant time reading, watching/listening to the waterfalls or even going in for a dip! If you are lucky, spot the deer, which roam around. Coffee and tea can be found in the office/small cafe area and this is where a continental breakfast is offered approx 8am to 10.30ish. There is a slight/gentle hill walk up to Tinker Street, the main street in Woodstock - only takes 5 mins and the Colony music venue is about 5 or10 mins further. Don't forget to take a torch if you come back to the inn late evening! All in all a wonderful and convenient place to stay and would highly recommend. If we visit again this is where we would definitely stay - lovely memories.…
We have stayed here many times, in all seasons. We love the town of Woodstock and the Inn is a short walk to the main shopping district. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the grounds are lovely. There are multiple places to sit and overlook the Millstream and waterfalls. The deluxe rooms have a kitchenette, which is handy. Will stay here again!
Love this place! Beautiful scenery, walking distance to town, and super friendly people. Very accommodating. The room was perfect, just what we needed. Clean, quiet, warm, and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again!
We stayed for two nights - room was great sized with a kitchenette. Our room was next to breakfast area but was still private and not noisy. Breakfast was one of the best during a 10 day trip through the east coast. My only gripe is that the aircon was very load and kept us awake. I only discovered next day that there was a huge ceiling fan which meant we didn't even need the aircon. I did mention this to the manager who said someone else had complained about this, so the hotel should act on complaints like this. Nonetheless I give it 5 stars as I highly recommend the hotel for its location, amenities, rooms and wonderful grounds.
We stayed in one of the Deluxe "rooms": it is actually a suite of 2 rooms (bedroom+LR) and bathroom. It was quiet and clean. The grounds are pretty. The breakfast was OK. The inside eating area seems a bit cramped for the number of people staying there, but we had nice enough weather to eat outside. Would we stay there again? Maybe, as the Woodstock location is good.
Great vibe, meticulously kept grounds and accomodations, but not fussy or uptight. Terrific staff: helpful, friendly. And yes it is a short stroll to several good eateries. Perfect place to relax.....turn off the phone.
This is my third time staying here. If you’re looking for a nice, quiet place to relax, this is it. The grounds are beautiful — bring a chair and a drink and your bath suit for a soak in the stream or just flop in a chair with a book and enjoy the solitude. It’s close to town — haven’t had to move my car since I got here but yes, be prepared because the road is curvy and narrow. The rooms are indeed small but they’re perfect for one person. The vibe is just chill. See you again next year, Woodstock Inn!
The grounds are clean and absolutely beautiful. Just walking on the property will give you a sense of calm and tranquility. The Inn Keeper is very nice. The shower has great water pressure. There is plenty of parking and chairs to sit outside and take in the scenery. The stream is beautiful and I could sit there all day just listening to the water running. The cons: The room is tiny and smelled. Not sure if the smell is from humidity or cleaning supplies but it definitely has an unpleasant odor. If you are claustrophobic these rooms are not for you. The bathroom is tiny. Another positive…. The Inn is in a great location. Only a 7 min walk into town.
We enjoyed our stay at this sweet spot on a scenic stream in Woodstock. We were anticipating a “short stroll” into town as described online, but found it to be a bit of a hike on a inclined narrow road with no shoulder or walkway. The hotel grounds are lovely and the room was comfortable and very clean. We booked a deluxe room with a “bubbler” tub but the tub was not functional. When the innkeeper was asked the response was that it was now a soaking tub and that they would change the listing ( but it remains) Breakfast was a wonderful surprise with a great selection though the notice in our room said breakfast was not available ( it was.)The contradictions were a bit off putting.
