We have just returned from an 8 night stay at Shangri-La Le Touessrok, where we had the most incredible stay and experience. This is our second time staying at the Shangri-la in Mauritius and it didn’t disappoint, regardless of the current covid restrictions, the team did their upmost to ensure we were well looked after for the duration of our stay. On our first day, we were welcomed into the hotel by Sunil, who instantly made us feel at home and continued to ensure our stay was nothing less than exceptional. The special touches such as the resort tour, hotel history/stories and the special gifts sent to our room, Sunil went above and beyond to personalise our stay. During the 8 nights, we were able to enjoy many different restaurant themed nights, with the beach BBQ and Mauritian nights being our personal favourites. The daily menu's had been carefully curated to enable us to experience all restaurants available in the Shangri-la under one roof due to the current capacity of the hotel. Andreas, Bobby and the team we were always on hand to offer recommendations and were happy to accommodate any requests. Thank you to Nitish and the bar team for always looking after us during Happy Hour and ensuring our glasses were never empty! Nicole and Sharda made our mornings very enjoyable, they were extremely attentive and by the end of the week had remembered our personal preferences and orders! We stayed in one of the frangipan suites, which are spacious, airy and impeccably clean. A big thank you to the housekeeping team Fabiola and Kaviraj who looked after us. The beaches are beautiful and spacious, with only 6 other couples at the hotel, we felt like we had the resort to ourselves! Randhir was always super friendly and on hand with fresh towels and ice cold water to keep us hydrated and refreshed throughout the day, nothing was ever too much. During a previous stay, Katoorah had helped me arrange a special breakfast and dinner for my girlfriends 30th birthday and engagement. When arriving at the hotel we asked the check-in team if Katoorah was still working at the hotel, they advised us he was on his week off but would be back on the following Saturday. On the Friday evening, to our surprise, Katoorah had arranged for his team (Kunal) to set up a dinner on the beach, it was a wonderful surprise which left myself and my girlfriend speechless! This was the perfect end to our stay. Last but by no means least, a HUGE thank you to Pritee, who has worked incredibly hard over the last 2 years planning, organising and co-ordinating our wedding… and the many date changes! It was great to finally meet in person and we feel completely at ease knowing that our wedding is in your capable hands. We cannot wait to return in December with our friends and family to celebrate our wedding!

We arrived in late August 2021, only a few days after the hotel had re-opened following an 18 month CoVID imposed furlough where the hotel was closed. Our group of five experienced travellers have had the most amazing three weeks, despite - for CoVID security reasons - not being able to leave the hotel. We've enjoyed a huge selection of fantastic food, a choice of soft drinks, wines, beers and cocktails seemingly without end but most of all, most of all, it was the staff who made every hour of every day a relaxing stress-free experience and one the best holiday's we've ever had. The rooms are large, airy, air conditioned and expertly serviced every day by Soren and Brinda who were on our lovely, friendly housekeeping team. Characteristically, everyone passing took the time to say a cheery "Bonjour"; from the gardeners to the chefs to the GM. Breakfast was served by a lively, engaging and oftentimes very funny team who went out of their way to ensure everything arrived promptly. Repeat orders were remembered for next day (and the next) but of course, you could change your mind at any time. A massive thanks to Thierry, Nicole, Karen. We would then retire to spend a couple of hours by the pool where Gary and Iruhu teams had already laid out towels and provided ice cold water in ice-filled cooler boxes. The evening meals were quietly, diligently and expertly stewarded by Bantu, Anil and their teams, which was followed by the evenings entertainment - local singers either accompanied by or playing instruments themselves - playing well known sing or dance-along tunes, and a selection of French and Mauritian classics. We spent the first two weeks in the main hotel where, aside from regularly topping up our tans, we passed the time with Tennis, Archery, Foosball, Pool, swimming, spent time in the gym both on the fitness machines and having Kick Boxing lessons, played Pétanque and enjoyed numerous excellent massages. The final week was spent in Villa 400 where we enjoyed the slightly more private space of a beautiful 3 bedroom open plan villa with heated infinity pool and private beach, where our every need to was attended to by a brilliant and ever helpful staff; Ramsaren, Candeeah (chief), Medgee, Rishi, Krity and Dan. The villa experience was made possible by Harrish who worked tirelessly; from coordinating our PCR tests organising a special Mauritian food night to supporting his team, to regularly popping in to make sure everything was ok. All of this however was made possible by the man, Sunil, who, as the executive manager in charge of rooms not only organised the villa for us and made things happen behind the scenes but also took time out to pop in from time to time to share his knowledge, experience, history and many interesting story’s of his 30+ years at the hotel. Thank you all, you'll be seeing us again. Jigna and Nigel

Had the pleasure of staying here last week, we arrived 2 days after the resort reopened and we were not sure what to expect but the resort exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The resort is on a very nice area of the island, with really beautiful white sandy beaches, it is a fairly big resort with multiple beaches and heated pool, we also visited the resort's private island Ilot Mangenie and that day was beautiful and the picnic was very well organised, highly recommended. We stayed at the Frangipani suite and this was very spacious, bed very comfy and bath tub was brilliant. When we first arrived we knew that only Republik beach restaurant was open and because we were not allowed to leave the resort (Mauritius still in phase 1 of opening) we had doubts about dining at the same restaurant daily but we were proven very wrong, the menu was extensive and they brought in a Japanese menu for a couple days and Mauritian menu for couple of other days, we also had the very delightful experience of the beach bbq dinner and that was one of the best buffets we ever had. What made our stay memorable was the service level at this resort, the team there is one of the best we have ever encountered and we've been everywhere ( Bali, Phuket, Singapore, Maldives etc...) but this team is something else, they make sure to provide you with the best personalised service it makes you wonder sometimes how they do it! I always say what most resorts can have nice settings, what would make you go back is the service and we are already planning our next visit! Special thanks to Xavier, Danish, Nicole, Heshan and the rest of the resort team, also manager Sunil who was very professional and friendly, thank you for your hospitality. And by the way, you don’t want to miss the famous Chi spa! The only thing we missed is maybe few English speaking TV channels, there were only 2 and they were news channels! Hopefully will manage to visit again soon!

There is absolutely nothing you can fault. NOTHING !!! It was outstanding, friendly, food amazing and the kids club was so good I wanted to join. We were there for my 50th so we leant into the whole thing. A Private dinner on the beach and of course lunch on the Island which was brilliant. We also got a car and went to the horse races on the Saturday and they let us into the members area as we called beforehand. You must also go to the surrounding areas and eat in the local restaurants. Amazing food and it of course helps the locals who are so friendly. PUT THIS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST - amazing hotel and staff and amazing country.

The food is really excellent with a large variety of cuisine and themed buffets. The staff were very courteous and displayed a high sense of professionalism.
