Our night at the Royal Palm was perfect, from the early check-in to the late checkout. The staff is welcoming and always available to help, we haven't been let down a single time. The food is amazing, even lunches at the "bar plage". We deeply regret not continuing our stay here as we had a reservation for the beachcomber paradis, which is the total opposite of this hotel.

We arrived at Royal Palm not really knowing what to expect. Although the price is high (potentially the most expensive hotel on the island) it was more than justified with the service and experience we received during our week long stay. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was absolutely incredible from start to finish. We have eaten at many quality restaurants across the globe however the food we ate at Royal Palm was on a different level. Specifically, I would like to thank Avinash, Muchen, Sepul and the other staff who helped make our time so special. They couldn’t have done anything more and would always go above and beyond to ensure we were having the best experience possible. The beach at Royal Palm is extremely private and the sand is so soft. The water is turquoise blue and it really is picture perfect. Rahul and the beach staff were so helpful in ensuring our towels were always fixed/replaced, our complimentary ice water was constantly topped up, and the service (just like every other area of the hotel) was out of this world. I had the unfortunate event of dislocating my shoulder (it was my own fault) when I spent time at the hotel however again this was no issue for the staff. The reception manager (Vanessa) personally took my wife and myself to the closest (and best) hospital and arranged all documentation, payments, treatment etc. The doctor was able to get me fixed up within a very short time and I was extremely impressed with the attention I received. Vanessa then made a copy of everything I needed and provided me with the documentation/information at the end of our stay. Once again, the service was 10/10. It is hard to fault this hotel at all however we did think there was a slight room for improvement with the cocktails. They are quite Alcohol focused (which some people like) however we think they could have been slightly more balanced in comparison to cocktails we have tried elsewhere. We just stuck to the Phoenix Beer (or Mauritian water) which was great! Honestly, if you are going to be spending time in Mauritius I would highly recommend that you spend all (or at least some) of your time at this amazing hotel. I travelled to Mauritius in May 2023 to celebrate my birthday. A wish made in January 2020, on a starlit evening, the ocean at my feet, on a private beach at a restaurant. I have travelled to Mauritius on numerous occasions and stayed at various hotels. I am very well travelled, having visited all continents, paradise islands in the Caribbean, Europe, Asia across to Australia. My view and personal experiences are vast, therefore an informed review. Although I did not stay at the Royal Palm, due to the nature of my work in the tourism industry and an Executive Lifestyle Advisor and Life Coach, I arranged an in-depth visit of the property, various room types and all amenities. Let me say at the outset - I pay my own way, this review is not a "paid partnership". I do not receive any emolument. Therefore my review is my personal perspective, and unbiased. From the minute I arrived, I could sense that I had arrived in another world. A world of superior paradise. Where the energy whispers wealth. The hotel is magnificent. All six senses are tantalised on entering the hotel. The ambience is elegant and serene. No masses. Just peace in paradise. Situated in Trou Aux Biches, the location is perfect, midway ... travel up the north to adventure and southwards to explore a less developed side of the island, returning to Utopia for residence. There is apparently a 4 to 1 guest ratio. The staff will remember your preferences and desires. You can request bespoke meals and experiences. A particular guest has visited over 56 times. That should be a true testament to the home away from home experience. A few children were in house during my visit. Mostly European guests, their primary market. The rooms and bathrooms are impeccable. They will undergo a refresh and will be refurbished during the forthcoming months, ready for high season. I honestly couldn't see anything that needed replacement. It's what they do. I would recommend the autumn, winter and spring seasons, less humidity, rain and mosquitoes. The gardens are spectacular and sprayed for mosquitoes. An environmentally aware hotel. The level of hospitality is as outlined in their marketing material and on their social media. You, or your guest, can request almost anything. Authentically Mauritian with a European flair. As the French would do, and master. Elegant and opulent, yet not pretentious. Exceptional. Excellence. This beautiful hotel is expertly managed so that we are all made to feel like extra special guests and that nothing is too much trouble. Our spacious room had lovely flower arrangements and overlooked a stunning view of their well maintained gardens and beach. Guests are given their own sun loungers and given water all day, with attendants even offering to clean your glasses! The beach has soft white sand and the ocean is safe to swim in with no tide. Our room was immaculately serviced each day, with a really comfortable bed and huge walk in shower. Lovely food attentively served. Expert fitness teachers in the gymn and spa. A beautiful hotel with exceptional service. I never thought I would stay somewhere so luxurious. Very clean hotel and professional artisans. We had dinner at Ischia the food was very good and tasty. We received a warm welcome by Jean Pierre who suggested a delicious red wine. It is well situated with soft sands, an amazing view with turquoise seawater and peaceful atmosphere reside this beautiful hotel with unique service throughout there artisans. Glamorous and stylish but still retains the Beachcomber ethos. First stay and we were upgraded to a suite which was unexpected and amazing. Love the beach and the service we received. All the restaurants were very good including lunch at the beach restaurant. Service top notch. A busy location it was good to see a different part of the island. Slight issue with mosquitoes but I am a walking buffet sadly. Hubby loved the golf at the nearby course all laid on by the hotel. Birthday cake and flowers organised. I loved the beach and so easy to swim. I enjoyed the spa and had a lovely massage. Already planning our return!
