On start I wish to salute the hotel's excellent health & safety protocols which are in place which provide visitors and guests the much required peace of mind amidst such complex sanitary conditions. We stayed for three nights as from the 26th Nov and had really an awesome CX at different service levels of the hotel. The amenities, food, services and I can go on and on, are simply amazing with an omnipresent hospitality. Behind this are real hospitality talents, be it at leadership, Front Office, F&B and housekeeping levels. If you want to experience a real 5 star experience, do not hesitate and venture. You will get one of the most amazing Asian fusion cuisine led by a very talented Chef Boi, a peculiar and exceptional Indian fusion cuisine from Chef Himanshu. I wish thank them heartily for such exceptional and second to none culinary experience. The teams are led by Stephane (GM) and Manish(Resident Mgr) who are the inspiration behind. I cannot thank enough Manish for his passion and steer in making our stay an exceptional one. How can I not mention Ishrat from Front Office who has been caring and a real support in ensuring we had a seamless stay, especially in organizing with my wife, a surprise birthday. This was really touching. The list of associates who were at the basis of a great CX is long and unfortunately cannot cite them all, but I wish to extend a big thank you! We are really looking forward to return back.

My husband and I have just returned from this wonderful hotel and had the most amazing stay. We have been fortunate to travel to many countries over the years and this trip was probably one of the best we have ever had. As other reviewers have already said, the staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make your stay special. There are far too many people to name who looked after us so well. All of the restaurant staff were so polite, friendly and nothing too much trouble. We ate in the only two restaurants that were open but did order from the à la carte menu in the main restaurant and the food was so beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. So much choice. All of the poolside cocktails are properly made and not sugary liquids that you sometimes get in all inclusives. Aza was fantastic on keeping our glasses filled and always happy. We had a beautiful ground floor room (1002) overlooking the pool and sea. This was extremely spacious and the bathroom was very large and plenty of towels. Cleaning staff did a fantastic job every day cleaning the room and replenishing towels etc. We have never wanted to return to a hotel before, even when we have had a great time but WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN to Intercontinental Mauritius. 😍 Well done to everyone, cleaners, waiters, managers and not to forget Manesh (resort manager), whom we had an interesting conversation with just before leaving.

I have just returned from a one day relaxation from Intercontinental Mauritius and I could not asked for more! It seemed that it is not enough one day and we are already planning to come back next week 😊. First of all I would like to thank Mr Ishrat (Front Office Manager)who run the Front desk and was very welcoming to us. We did have some issues upon arrival which were resolved by him immediately and nothing was too much for him. He would always keen to help us every time and would ask if everything is going well. Secondly all your restaurants staff are amazing and there were good food to eat also. I eat to much that I will need to do a diet now. Thank you to chef Himanchu and boy for making such delicious food and am already craving to have the next dish. In all this hotel has everything you need which will Make you stay a memorable one. I have seen comments that Mauritian people are being discriminated and I can tell you this is not the case! Believe me I was there and I cannot tell you how much the people was accommodating and would go out of their way to make things possible for you. In all this hotel deserves a better rating than 5*!!!! We will be back next week!

We had a relaxing stay in a near perfect hotel thanks mostly to the staff and the sensational food. We were so well looked after by the staff. We had a lovely Prestige room on the ground floor by South Pool with a gorgeous view to the sea and beach house. Mosquitoes prevented us using our terrace too much but so lovely to wake up each morning and be greeted by the view. Bonus was the Nespresso machine as we’re coffee addicts. Unfortunately we weren’t advised until we arrived that 2 of the 4 restaurants were closed, I’m guessing due to reduced capacity, however we we’re still allowed to order from the menus in the main buffet restaurant which we opted to do a few times in our 2 week stay. You had to wait a while but it was worth it. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The staff in the Senseo restaurant looked after us through breakfast, lunch and dinner with special thanks to Catriyona, Yadev and Roomesh. We also ate 3 times at Segala their Mediterranean restaurant and Wesley looked after us so we’ll there too. On our last night of holiday, he even set us up our own table on the beach surrounded by candles to make it unforgettable for us. Again the food beautifully presented and the Scallops, Carpaccio and Fillet Steak were faultless. At the pool bar, once again the staff went out their way to make sure your food and drinks were spot on. Again special thanks to Damesh (never let us have an empty glass in evening), Vino & Pooja (who make the perfect Coconut Mojitos) and lastly Appadoo, Aza & Manoj who fetched and carried drinks to us with a smile either at the main pool or far away at South Pool. These people and the many others who work here, even the towel man at the main pool all worked hard every day to make sure our stay was spot on. It’s been such a relaxing holiday thanks to these lovely people. We also visited the spa twice during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed some couples massages - definitely recommend! My reflections on what would have made this the perfect holiday… - Having an ATM at the hotel. You have to get a taxi at around £20 return to get to Grand Bay or one of the shopping malls (recommend la croisette) - use the Yugo app (like Uber) for taxis, nearly half price of hotel taxis! Triolet ATM is slightly nearer but there’s nothing there. - You can’t really get a drink after 11pm and it would have been nice to use a paid for full bar given you can’t go anywhere else to get drink. - Lastly the evening entertainment at times was really poor. There was a band or music duo/trio every night and I think only twice in the 2 weeks we were there it didn’t offend my ears. They had a female singer with a fantastic voice on a few times but she didn’t work with the band and often sounded like they were performing different songs. It was uncomfortable listening I’m afraid so they need to invest in better brought in entertainment.

As everyone else has said, the staff here are hard working and helpful.Special award for AZA who took care of us at the South pool and on the beach. Also Brian,"Qui manyer"! Ben and Apadoo. We had a really great holiday at Intercontinental apart from a couple of things, hence only 4 stars. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and appointed. We had room 1604,ground floor garden room with a fabulous view of the beach and sea, which was a joy every morning. We loved the bed,so large with good linen and tons of pillows,so comfortable. The room was possibly the best we ever had on any holiday.Super bath and shower/towels and cleaning.Food at the buffet and Segalla was excellent, with masses of choice. We had a wonderful, romantic dinner by the beach there.Just a shame the other 2 restaurants weren't open for different surroundings. The beach areas and 2 pools(quieter South pool away from Sugar Cane bar)are very clean,Not many people seemed to swim in the sea but it's very safe and calm and you don't need to snorkel far out to see some of the tropical fish. The hotel is nicely situated for nearby Mon Choisy or Trou aux Biche public beaches a short taxi ride away but highly recommended. Ok,so to the niggles that spoiled the holiday somewhat. Firstly,is it absolutely necessary to do the nasal Covid test as soon as one arrives? We had a 25 hour journey with no sleep only to have this 5 minutes after arriving. Entertainment the first week was very dull and old fashioned. One morning we left our sunbed for breakfast only to return to find a couple had taken them which took almost 3 hours to resolve, ruining the day.On our last full day the SAME thing happened again reducing my wife to tearsMight we suggest the hotel gets more sunbeds as this has never happened before on any holiday we ever had. Lastly, the drinks. Why serve up such a poor selection of spirits and wines that do not match,in any way,the quality of food served in the restaurants?Imagine our surprise also when my wife and I were refused a bottle of house all inclusive wine, only to be told we had to order by the, half filled, glass, repeatedly. We like to have wine whilst watching the sunset from our room or getting ready for dinner but unless you want to be charged 1200 mr to have the all inclusive wine via room service you're expected to go backwards and forwards to Sugar Cane. I really don't like to complain but just ever so slightly disappointed the stay at Intercontinental wasn't 100% relaxation as it's all there(maybe an ATM needed?),staff, hotel, beach. Some managerial penny pinching looks a bit obvious and spoils the ship for a "ha'porth of tar" Thanks again to all the staff,Respect.Ki.Manyer xx
