Decided last minute to visit son at St Lawrence University. No vacancy in Canton and I came across Maple Rock. About 12 miles from campus but worth the drive. Everything about the property, rooms, and food was exceptional. Audrey & Jake/owners have created a lovely space; thoughtfully designed/built for guests- comfortable sleeping rooms and shared/living room spaces (indoor and outdoor). And truly appreciate Audrey quickly accommodating dietary needs (vegan/vegetarian) and offering suggestions for exploring the area. Fantastic stay & look forward to returning with family and friends.

We had the pleasure of staying with Audrey again last weekend. As always, the Inn was inviting, clean and comfortable. Covid protocols were all followed and I felt very safe. The common areas are very wide-open/airy and with only 5 rooms it was easy to keep socially distanced. The bed is very comfortable and we slept very well. While visiting a college student who likes to sleep late is was great to have a common area to read, relax and chat with Audrey in the morning as she cooked breakfast instead of having to hunker down in a boring hotel room. It was nice to meet some of the other guests as well, conversation was light and easy and never overbearing. It was a beautiful weekend and the view out the back slider onto the field allowed us to catch a glimpse of some passing deer. Breakfast was delicious as always. Audrey is also a great resource to recommend restaurants and even directed us to a local pub with some great beers on tap.

The B&B is modern and very well appointed in a beautiful area, the hosts are great people who obviously care about their guests. We have stayed there numerous times and feel like family. The breakfasts are always a treat! We highly recommend the Maple Rock.

Our third time at the Maple Rock. We stay when we attend Clarkson Hockey games. Audrey and Jake are always accommodating. The rooms are immaculate. Audrey is a great cook and the breakfasts and homemade treats are fantastic. Jake always had a fire going in the fireplace when we got back from the games. We have always stayed in room 4, upstairs in the rear. This room has a view of the fields and woods behind the house. The B&B is a couple of miles outside of town in a quiet rural setting on a low traffic road.

This was our second stay at Maple Rock B&B. We are Clarkson University alumni and stayed at the B&B last year when we came to town to see some hockey games. We knew we wanted to stay at the B&B again this year and booked the same room - #5. The bed and bedding are super comfortable. The bathroom is nice and big. Audrey once again accommodated my gluten sensitivity and made yummy lemon ricotta pancakes the first morning, and a delicious frittata the second morning. We enjoyed chatting at breakfast with the other guests. The B&B is less than ten minutes from campus. We love the rural setting and very much appreciate Audrey and Jake’s hospitality.

We have stayed here several times over the past few years when coming up to visit our daughter at the Crane school of music. Each visit is consistently excellent, from the quiet, clean and comfortable rooms to the amazing breakfast that Audrey cooks up fresh every morning. She is a fantastic host, she even let us have a quiet birthday celebration on the deck for our daughter and her friends during Covid when they didn't want to have a celebration someplace indoors.

You not only get a great place to stay with great food, you also get someone that can help you find the best in the area, from restaurants to attractions and activities. While you certainly can consult online reviews, it is often hard to get a consistent view as they are written by many different people and may not be current. Audrey helped us make many wonderful restaurant choices, and also alerted us to some wonderful things to do that we might not otherwise have found.

All in all, with everything you get, this is an amazing bargain, and a great place for a short or long stay.

This adorable quaint bed and breakfast located in Potsdam near SUNY is a perfect place to stay if you are here on a college visit or any other reason. It is immaculate, Audrey is the perfect host. She made us a delicious breakfast. She makes you feel at home with access to the yard, the kitchen, porch with rocking chairs and the deck where we brought our dinner back to eat. The price is reasonable and it couldn't be any cleaner. Everything is like new. Her homemade cookies are delicious. Highly recommend. 😄

Best experience ever!
This bed and breakfast exceeded my expectations! No worlds but excellent to explain our stay so lovely and very relaxing. The owners are so nice and talking to them feels like you're visiting old friends. The entire house, and bedroom, were sparkling clean. It was very comfortable and felt like home. The room and the bathroom is beautiful. Comfortable bed and pillows. Nice sitting area in both levels as well as on the porch. I spent some time on the Adirondack chairs enjoying the sun in my face. It was wonderful. May I add the delicious breakfast it just added and little more than you would expect. The breakfast was very tasty with healthy items included.
The location is amazing, only 10 min away from St Lawrence. Parking is on site, in their driveway. Check in/out (contactless) was very easy and smooth. If you're looking for a great place, stay here.
We just loved our stay so much, and hope to return very soon.

I recently got married on my grandparents farm, that happens to be down the road from the Maple Rock Bed and Breakfast. As soon as I walked in the door I knew it would be the perfect spot for my bride squad and us to stay in. We felt right at home, and the view from the common space was beautiful. Everything Audrey made us was delicious. She even created a mimosa bar and some fantastic snacks for us while we were getting ready for the wedding. She was very welcoming and allowed us to use the space in any way we needed. My entire squad loved the place, and it was so nice to have a place where we could all be together.

Very nice country setting, very nice people. The building itself is new; the building and grounds are clean and in good shape.

I like to stay in B&B's because they don't make me feel trapped in a room. At Maple Rock, I could sit out on the lawn, on the deck, in the screened porch, and there are common sitting areas on both floors. Coffee and tea were available, and Audrey set out cookies for me (which I ate).

Audrey was a wonderful host.

I will stay here again the next time I'm in Potsdam, assuming that I can get a room.
