Situated in the heart of Big 5 wilderness terrain, Makweti Safari Lodge offers five individual, intimate and luxurious suites, some with a private plunge pool. The lodge offers fine dining overlooking the panoramic bush surroundings and is a member of the by-invitation-only Chaine des Rotisseurs (a hallmark of fine cuisine). The camp is unfenced bringing elephant, lion, rhino and other wildlife to the surrounding waterholes on your doorstep. The game drive safaris are conducted in open safari vehicles with expert guides assuring an astounding experience of the diverse wildlife in the reserve, including the big 5. Other facilities available at the lodge for guests use include the outdoor swimming pool, lounge area, spa and art gallery.

The perfect place to clear your mind and enjoy the nature. The place has no Wi-Fi connection no cell phone signals to allow you to enjoy every and each moment in the nature between the bush and the wild life. The food was amazing and the staff were very helpful. It could be better to have the wifi in the main lodge where we have our meal instead of going to the office to use the internet. Other than that , it was all great and amazing experience.

My boyfriend Andrew and I were fortunate enough to have our second visit to Makweti on the 1st of Jan 2021. We didnt think it was possible, but it was even better than the first trip! The food was incredible, the drives were lovely with lots to see. The staff were so friendly, welcoming and remembered us from the 1st visit, making it so personal and lovely to go back again. Thank you to Colin for being so helpful and tending to our every need while there, as well as all of the other friendly staff. I would definitely recommend Makweti to any couple looking for a romantic, private, secluded getaway with personal, hands on service. Thank you again Makweti for an unforgettable experience. Second time I have visited Makweti with my girlfriend and we loved it even more than the first experience. Couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable stay - food was amazing, staff as friendly as ever, our room was beautiful (and very romantic) and we had some amazing sightings. No better way to start the new year than watching a female cheetah with her four cubs. We will definitely be going back very soon. Thanks to Colin for keeping us entertained, looking after us and for your insightful knowledge of all things Bush related. We loved our drives with you! Hope to see you all soon. Andy

My partner and I spend 5 magical days at Makweti and it was the most memorable bush trip I’ve ever taken. The guide Josphat was phenomenal - highly knowledgeable and tailored the experience to what we wanted to see. The service was excellent and Charlotte and the team were out of this world. The condition of the lodge is immaculate and the decor is fitting for the environment. I would highly highly recommend staying here

Hard to describe the weekend we just had at Makweti to someone who hasn't been there before...definitely a trip of a lifetime - filled with amazing game viewing, delicious food, romantic sunsets, great company (staff are so friendly) and all at the most stunning lodge. Couldn't have imagined a better African experience:) We will definitely be back!
