We stayed at Nungubane Game Lodge for a week as part of our honeymoon and could not have imagined a better experience. We received a very warm welcome from the whole staff upon arrival. As the lodge only accommodates max. 10 guests at a time, the atmosphere is very unique and genuine. The hospitality we experienced was truly amazing which made us feel right at home. We also liked getting to know the other guests from different nationalities. One evening there was a private dinner set up as a surprise for us in our room which was very romantic. We were also lucky to have two private game drives as we were the only guests for a while. The twice-a-day game drives were awesome. We saw a whole lot of animals from elephants, zebras, lions, rhinos, giraffe, cheetah, baboons and a wide…
We visited the Nungubane Lodge during a long weekend break. It was not what I expected - it was way beter. The lodge is situated in the Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. The price includes transfers to and from the lodge, all meals and snacks and two game drives a day (of about three hours each). What makes the experience a bit different is the fact that the lodge is very small and can accommodate only 10 guests at a time. This means that you will have a very close and personal experience with the other guests, since everybody eats together and goes on the game drives together. I am not use to such a setting, but it was surprisingly pleasant. The rooms are beautiful and the staff go out of their way to make you feel special, greeting you with a song on arrival and ensuring that…
my family and I stayed in Nungubane Game Lodge for a week at the time of July. I think there are many amazingly good things in the lodge - the food is extremely good, the cabinet is beautiful, comfortable and clean with a fire place. the location is in the middle of the bush and sometime animals comes to the water hall and you can see them from a view spot (we saw a lion, zebras and a pack of baboons). the drives in the early morning and at the sunset were wonderful. we saw every animal you can imagine! but there is one thing that made this place really special - the people and the service. that was beyond belief. I can't remember such a warm service, it felt like they are a big family, and they treat you as one of them. The best thing in the trip was Annouchka. the best guide…
There are not enough words to express the wonderful time we had during our stay at Nungubane lodge! From the firs moment we met Annouchka at the western gate of the reserve, until we left six days later, we hoped the experience would never end. Hidden in the bush there are only five perfect intimate huts- beautifully designed, well maintained, with a beautiful view. The hut includes a Large room, a comfortable bed, a romantic fire place and a cozy bathroom. Perfect! One can spend days just enjoying the view from the balcony. The hut is very private and nature is the only view. There is a private water hole that you can observe from a secluded view point. We saw a lion!!! We ate excellent food made by Chef Lizie and Anne (two options every meal, different every day) and both were…
My husband and I had the best time at Nungubane! A short break away from the city felt like we had relaxed for over a week. From the minute we arrived, we felt so welcomed by the team of ladies. Always friendly and accommodating - no request is too much effort for them. The food was amazing with lots of variety to accommodate everyone’s taste. Boma night under the stars was definitely the highlight for us. Annoushka is one of the most vibrant people we have ever met and her passion for the bush and animal conservation is contagious. She goes out of her way to make sure you get the best sightings even if it means staying out late. Her extensive knowledge about everything from plant species to bird life and to the large predators made you appreciate things you would otherwise…
