Nestled near Sedona's picturesque Bell Rock, the Hilton Sedona Resort offers a prime location that guests adore, with easy access to the airport, downtown, and stunning natural scenery. Despite the friendly staff, service at the resort receives mixed reviews due to occasional lapses in attention. While the amenities, including the pool and fitness center, are generally appreciated, the hotel's value is questioned by many travelers who point out overpriced offerings and the need for room renovations. The atmosphere splits opinion; some enjoy the festive touches, yet others are put off by the dated decor. Concerns about inconsistent cleanliness add to the reasons some guests hesitate to return.

Perfect short stay. Amazing scenery and trails for walking or biking. Some guests had dogs. Enjoyed the stargazing night. Hotel arranged the pink jeep tour. Free parking. Pastries were very expensive. Would definitely revisit and use as base for Grand Canyon too.

As others have mentioned, the quality of this property (both tangible and service) does not match the price. Even the location is not in such a position that it could potentially offset poorer quality of above.

When we arrived, we found that our bedsheets had a large dirty footprint on the comforter and we found a small beetle that we don't *think* was a bedbug but took to the front desk to be sure. The concierge offered to send housekeeping to change the sheets and invited us to have a drink at the bar while we waited, which we felt was reasonable (though probably would have preferred a different room). We had just finished a long sweaty day of hiking so we asked to be updated when the room was ready. We took our time nursing our drinks at the bar (which took a long time to even be served) and never received an update. After about an hour and a half, we decided we would just go back up to the room to check. The sheets had been changed, but it was beyond irritating that the concierge didn't "close the loop" after saying that they would update us. Not to mention they also didn't automatically take off the bar charges when we checked out so I had to explain the entire situation all over again. Disappointing.

The room itself was fine - we had booked a suite with a view which was of the golf course (recommend choosing "red rocks view" instead but honestly with the price premium it's probably not worth it), but the rooms are probably in need of an update. The showers had obvious cracks and need grout filler. With the exception of the bedsheets as discussed previously, though, the general cleanliness was acceptable.

With the new changes to Diamond member food perks, I asked for clarification at the front desk when we checked in as to whether it was $15 per person per day or per night. They assured me to was per day and so we would have $60 credit for food. When we checked out, however, I was only credited $30 and I was told that it was actually per night, and they refused to refund me the courtesy credit even though they admitted that they were in error! Disappointing.

As a general rule I think resort fees are total garbage, but usually at least there is some attempt to justify the fees. What are your "resort fees" paying for here, you ask? 1. Guest internet access - which Hilton says is complimentary for any HHonors member anyway (so why are we paying for this?) 2. Fitness center and spa facility access (please note that the public can pay for spa services here too, and the fitness center isn't so amazing that it justifies a resort fee). 3. Fitness classes for 2 (not happening due to COVID). 4. Putting green access (the only thing that remotely qualifies as resort fee eligible). 5. discounts on spa and merchandise (this is not a real "resort benefit" not to mention the lowest price package even eligible for the spa discount is $170!) Particularly when services are severely diminished from COVID, it's enraging that this resort fee is still being charged.

We would not stay here again.

Our child has a medical condition and we were concerned to travel to this resort due to this pandemic. So we called the resort and spoke with Ida. She in turn emailed her boss Mr. Berry who reached out to us. He wanted to know how they could help make our stay great. We decided to go and checked in to our room, it was so stunning Mr. Berry made sure we had a view of the red rocks so my son could sit outside on the balcony and enjoy the breath-taking view. Mrs. Christiane Murphy informed us she had something to show our family. The staff and Mr. Berry had surprised our family with an additional room, they called the “Christmas Room”. Mr. Berry made sure it would be only our family that would be in that additional room. I would like to point out that air purifiers were place in both our private rooms and were running once we arrived. The staff decorated the entire Christmas room with a full-size Christmas tree, full decorations, a gift for my son, snacks, a frig full of drinks for our family, Christmas hats and Christmas movies. I cried! I could not believe it. Mr. Berry also set up dinner for our family in a private Igloo with a special visit from Mrs. Claus who brought my son a little gift. Mrs. Claus also gave each of my children a new Christmas ornament and sang Christmas songs with our family. Our waitress Kerri was so amazing! She really made sure we were ok. In the Igloo the staff had set up an air purifier so that my son and our family could feel safe. After dinner, a private fire-pit was set up for our family with s’mores. They even gave us blankets that had been sanitized so we could stay warm. I would like to say thank you to Mr. Berry for going out of your way to help my son and our family feel so special. Christiane Murphy for your warmth, kindness and for constantly checking in on us. Our waitress Kerri for doing such a great job. Deb for taking our phone order at the restaurant and then calling our Christmas room to check up on us and to see how our meal was. The Chef at the restaurant for making a special dinner for my son the night of our reservation, our son felt so special. House keeping for placing the towels in sealed bags to ensure us we were the only ones to touch them and for giving us trash bags when we needed them. Joe the manager at the restaurant for his hospitality and kindness. A very big thank you to Ida Kruger for really stopping to listen to me, for emailing her boss Mr. Berry and letting him know what my challenges were and the obstacles we were facing in bring my son to Sedona. The staff also place individually wrapped hand sanitizer wipes in both our rooms. We saw staff constantly cleaning hi touched areas and in the elevators they had sanitizer wipes you use to press the buttons and a trashcan for you to throw them away. They also had sanitizer stations through out the resort.

Gorgeous views, great pool, perfect location. Unfortunately two major changes have occurred over the past year: the restaurant on New Year’s Eve only serves a $60 per person fixed menu and will not accommodate changes for children. (We booked a reservation five days in advance and were assured at the time that they would allow orders off the normal menu). Upon arriving for dinner last night the staff including the manager would not honor that commitment and suggesting taking our guests to our room and ordering room service.(7 total people including 3 who’d drove 30 minutes from Sedona to dine with us). Terrible guest service! The second change involves the so-called benefit for Gold members: last year there was a $30 per day breakfast credit that could be used for breakfast in the restaurant or coffee and breakfast to go). This year upon receiving my bill the credit was not granted for the to go items. Upon calling to inquire I was told that this policy did indeed change from last year. Great way to treat their formerly most loyal customers! (Sarcasm).

We stayed using Hilton Points in a King Suite facing golf course and sunset views (February 2-6). The room was spacious and clean, the staff friendly and attentive to requests, and decent happy hour $5 Prickly Pear margaritas (would not pay full price). We chose the King Suite over a queen sized room at same rate with Red Rock views and glad we did. The suite was much larger with separate bedroom, small dining table with sink and fridge. Both rooms had a gas log fireplace, which was nice addition for cooler February time of year. There is also a resort fee that was waived for our point stay. I believe it is $33/night. I would not believe the amenities are worth the $33/night since we are not golfers, and not the time if year to use tennis courts or pools. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on food. The hotel is very short walk to restaurants on Route 179 in Village of Oak Creek ( Miley's Cafe, Corner Table, Cucina Rustica and others). They also have tours available from hotel.

I would like to start by saying the management team we interacted with at various times (restaurant and front desk) were exceptional! A+ to all of you! Also, Ana did a great job with a foot reflexology at the spa! The size of the our room was definitely a huge plus! On a very strange, and definitely positive note, one of the guys blowing dirt out of the parking lot from the storm the night prior was blowing dirt off of my car when I walked out in the morning. I thought this was really funny and very thoughtful!

My wife and I both agree that this was on the lower side of what we have experienced from Hilton in terms of actual quality of the building. The lobby and restaurant areas both feel nice, but as soon as you take a turn down a hallway, you feel like you are revisiting the 80's. The appearance of the dark and dingy hallways and rooms is surprising compared to how bright and beautiful the lobby is. I can tell that there was a mineral/gemstone theme going on around the hotel...these photos/canvases are not colorful or lively. Please update this to have some really nice canvases printed of the Sedona area instead. The Marriott did this and it was much more pleasing to the eye and felt more immersive. I am even more surprised at the quality of the beds, sheets, comforter, and pillows. Any hotel/resort which is trying to provide luxury accommodations should be using sheets which are high enough quality to be quiet when moving them around. Any time we moved around in bed or even adjusted our heads on pillows, the loud noise would wake us up. Also, the pillows were not comfortable in addition to this. I recommend to hotel management to invest in higher quality, quieter sheets, pillows and comforters. Doing this one thing will be the difference between my family coming back here again or not coming back again. We did not get quality sleep either night.

I would also like to recommend to management to invest in 4-6 clipper creek electric car chargers. The Marriott has them and it was much more convenient to have those attached to the hotel rather than charge at the Tesla Urban Chargers around the corner from the hotel. Between the quality of the rooms and the car chargers in the parking lot, I will pick the Marriott over the Hilton next time even though this Hilton had a better pool and dining experience.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hilton sedona thanks to the clean and comfortable rooms, the attentive housekeeping, and the great staff - front desk employees, pool bartender and others. I highly recommend the red rock view if available. I am not sure why the reviews of this hotel are so mixed - I was extremely happy with my stay for the price I paid, but I may have gotten a better deal than others paid for their rooms. The location is suitable for accessing Sedona area attractions and trails and still manages to have a lot less traffic than uptown Sedona. I would definitely stay here again and really commend the staff for being so personable.
Also, even though the pool temperature was cool my daughters very much enjoyed playing and swimming in the pool for hours one evening. One of the staff members with the fire pits while were there which was awesome. Lastly you can buy the red rock pass here and they will provide laundry detergent and fabric softener for you to do your laundry for free at the second-floor laundry room located near the center of the hotel.

This was my first time visiting this property and I was disappointed.

Check in time: A Thursday and an early check in was not an option, even for Honors members which was okay because the hope was that additional time was being taken to ensure the cleanliness of the rooms. Not so great was the wait...almost 30 minutes...as only one person was checking in guests. Digital Key was not showing as available so we couldn’t avoid the line. The front desk clerk was pleasant.

Room/hotel: We were greeted with a fly. First time I’ve ever stayed at a property where I had to deal with files in the room. This didn’t set a good tone but overall the room appeared to be clean. The pest nuisance returned when it was time to hit the hay. I was bitten several times on my ankles, chest and wrist on each night of our stay. I wasn’t sure if these were mosquitos or gnats but it was horrible and made it difficult to sleep. I did let the front desk know. This is an older property and though it appears that updates have been made to the rooms, the common areas including the hallways are a bit drab and some of the patio furniture was pretty worn. Someone was actually painting the walls when we arrived. Another issue is that rooms are only being clean upon request so piles of towels and garbage sat outside doors. This was so unsightly and unsanitary.

Dining: Problems. Rude staff with no regard for customer service. I won’t go into detail because it would make this post even longer, but just know this is an opportunity area where improvement needs to be made. To be fair, we had a wonderful breakfast the first full day of our stay. Dinner service and the next days breakfast was so bad, we decided to pack up and head out. I voiced my complaints to the front desk and Jace was super apologetic as was Jesus, the restaurant Manager.

Overall: As a 4 Star resort, we expected and deserved more, I know Hilton and they are better than this. I did receive a follow-up call from the hotel director which I appreciated and he apologized and acknowledged some of the shortcomings. I will visit this property again and anticipate there will be positive changes.

Front check in staff were very friendly, we were able to check in early and our suite was amazing!!! Not a typical hotel room, more like an upscale one room apartment facing Bell rock formation. The ONLY drawback was where our room was located 3043 not able to connect to the wifi, we used the hotspots off our iPhones to use our tablets. The food from the bar and grill at the hotel was very good, pricey but good. Guessing due to the COVID the breakfast was not what we are used to, Diamond members can pick out a cup of fruit, yogurt parfait, a pastry (croissant or bagel) and a juice or coffee. The room has a fridge (no freezer in it), a microwave and coffee maker. We plan on going back this fall for another visit and will bring reheat-able food items to cut down on the cost of eating out. Each room has a deck with a small table and two chairs. If you have kids (we don’t have littles) they will love the cascade swimming pool, probably the best pool we have ever seen.

You know when you stay in New York and you overpay for rooms but you're like "location, location, location". That is my feeling about this Hilton.

We've stayed here four times in the past three years. It is quite expensive for what you get but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfy. If you paid this much in most other places, you'd get much more luxury.

The hallways and room decor are dated and could use an update. The service was okay but not great.
Good news is that the WIFI worked much better this visit than it did in October.

They also have free parking which is something that Florida hotels do not offer.

I think they are cheaping out with the maid service blaming it on covid. The housekeepers will not enter rooms to clean at all until you check out. If you want towels or supplies, you call for them which is okay but both times we called, it took over an hour to get them delivered. I complained and they sent a s'mores kit to use at the fire pits which was nice but I'd rather see faster delivery of fresh towels or allow a standing order of towels to be delivered

The outside patio is charming and great for morning fireside coffee or late night s'mores or drinks

I love staying in Oak Creek which is actually about 15-20 minutes from Sedona. The drive to sedona is breathtaking and Oak Creek is less crowded than Sedona.

Not sure, I know you need a key card to get into the pool area and the gym. If I recall correctly, the spa may actually have a lap pool attached to it that is for the spa. As for the gym I would ask the spa when you get there. Hope this helps!
