If you prefer to stay in a quieter part of town, Desert Quail is a good choice in Oak Valley part of Sedona. It was a good value as well. We had a king room with fireplace and hot tub and it was clean, plenty of soft towels, refrigerator (no freezer), small couch and rocking chair and armoire for hanging your clothes. The bed was firm and nice pillows. Highly recommend walking literally a few sreps to Red Rock Cafe behind hotel where the locals go. Across the street are italian, burger and mexican restaurants to walk from hotel and a coffee shopbeside the office. Traffic was much less at this location, yet not many roundabouts to any locations in Sedona. Bell Rock within a couple miles.
We are so happy we found this place to stay. It is in the Village of Oak Creek, but was quiet, clean & comfortable, and a much better value for the area. The room was well appointed-refrigerator, microwave coffee maker & iron. There were several restaurants close by-an opening at the back of the property made for easy access to a grocery store & the Red Rock Cafe(delicious). We had a long tour scheduled for one of our days so we bought some juice, fruit and breakfast items to be heated in the microwave. They had a nice pool & hot tub. On the day we checked out, we had some time, so we walked to the Bell Rock Trail, leaving our car in the Inn parking lot. I would recommend doing the trail early in the morning or late in the day though due to the heat while we were there. We would highly recommend this Inn & would definitely return if we go back to the Sedona area.…
We spent two nights here while visiting Sedona. The rooms were very large and very clean. The pool area is very nice. The hotel had a small laundry room that I was able to use. There is no breakfast or coffee provided. However, there is a Clark's Grocery Store right behind the hotel which was very convenient for coffee. There were also a number of coffee shops within walking distance. We really loved our time in Sedona and we really loved this hotel. The hotel is very close to Bell Rock. We would definitely stay here again.
A great place to stay while in the Sedona area! Why: We had a room with a king-sized bed. The room was clean, spacious and nicely appointed--plenty of room for the 2 of us. It also had a love seat and a recliner! The TV had HBO! Too, walk 300 feet and you have the Red Rock Cafe which is open from 7am to 2pm for a great brunch. Walk 500 feet and you have very nice market to buy any necessities like water or alcohol! Right across the street are other nice restaurants--Lisa Pisa (get the gelato)! Know what else is good? The ride to Sedona proper has remarkable vistas for you to pullover to photograph or to hike! Oh and try COLT BBQ! They have breakfast!
Our 6th stay. Very clean and comfortable. Large rooms, great location — close to everything and away from heavy tourist congestion. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There great little restaurant for breakfast next door and a super market right next to it.
What a great hotel! We had a first floor room that was clean, quiet with comfortable beds. We did not use the pool and I forget if there was a hot tub, but it was conveniently located and the woman who checked us in was very pleasant and gave us suggestions for dinner and breakfast spots (Dellapaine and Red Rock Cafe). I would highly recommend staying here and hope to return again soon!
What a great hotel! They advertise that they don't have a view, which honestly, is A-Okay! I felt so comfortable and slept so great here. It was quiet, super clean, and just a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area and definitely be a repeat guest. This owner and staff have got a great thing going and I wish more business took the same level of pride in their properties that Desert Quail Inn does!
Stayed for two nights - first floor room. Clean - it passed my uv light test. Close to trails. Next door is Firecreek coffee- great coffee and a few breakfast items. I liked that it was away from downtown Sedona and the crowds. Quiet at night. A few restaurants nearby. Wifi was good.
We arrived early & were able to check in. Gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! Hotel is in a great location and not Sedona prices!!! Our room was clean, comfortable and also had a fireplace!!!! Restaurants were within walking distance. Try the Mexican Restaurant across the street in the little mall. Sooo good!!!! Bell Rock & Courthouse Butte are right up the road. Sedona is within 15-20 minutes. Red Rock State Park is about 1/2 hour. We would definitely stay again!
This is a perfectly nice place to stay. The property is obviously old but has been updated and looked well-maintained inside & out. Very nice LITTLE pool area with hot tub and a few lounge chairs. Roomy room with 2 queen beds, fridge, & microwave. Sink area is separate from toilet & shower which is nice for families. The lady who checked us in (Irene?) was very friendly and helpful with tips about what was nearby. There is a small supermarket in the adjacent parking lot. The motel is pricey for what it is, but not pricey for where it is (Sedona).
