We appreciate your input. Unfortunately due to Covid 19, we aren't allowed to have a breakfast until further notice due to the self serving of our line up and the small breakfast area. We will be able to offer it to you as soon as the restaurants are open in our area at full capacity. I've stayed here 4x in the last year. The owner has been working on refreshing and updating his property this past year. There is new carpet, new toilets, new sinks, new faucets, new lamps, new tiled floors! The entire hotel has received a fresh paint job, and it looks wonderful! I have always had a clean room, not only are there mattress encasements but there is always a nice mattress protector on top of the encasement. The owner has always been very accommodating to my flexible work schedule and is always happy to modify my reservation when needed. I absolutely recommend staying here.

My husband uses a wheelchair and many hotels claim to have rooms that are accessible but are not. This handicapped room was honestly one of the best we've ever had.The manager/owner takes a lot of pride in the hotel and the staff is pleasant and very friendly. I wrote a note thanking the owner (not typical) who said that the rooms were just refurbished. Only 20 minutes from Clarkson - we will be back for sure.

I have stayed in hotels in Europe, Canada, and too many to count in the US, from 5-star to 2-star ratings, but I was thoroughly impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. Nothing fancy about this place, this is a basic hotel; the room prices are reasonable, and of all things, they have RECLINING CHAIRS in their rooms. Today, with all the problems one encounters with bedbugs and the like in so many hotels that it is necessary to inspect the room before barely setting one's bags down, such care with cleanliness is so welcomed; this is the place I will stay if I ever have occasion to return to Massena, NY.

Checked in in the early evening. Location is a bit underwhelming, and the lobby was shabby. Attenedant was friendly enough.
Room a double bed. simple, clean, with good TV selection, fridge and microwave. Nothing else here, not even breakfast items (unlike most Super 8s) so went into town to a dinner for a good breakfast.
Main reason to be here: early flight from MSS.

Overall, this hotel met my business needs for the week I was in Massena. The room was clean and even had a reclining chair which made up for not having an iron/ironing board in the room. Even the refrigerator was bigger than most dorm fridges you would see in a hotel room. I liked that it actually had a freezer section for my ice packs. Housekeeping cleaned my room every day, which is more than I am used to while on business trips and staying at any Hilton chain hotel. The drain was a little slow in the bathtub while taking a shower. I brought my own breakfast items to eat in my room as the breakfast choices offered were your basic cold cereal, yogurt and coffee and juice. Overall, if I had to come to Massena again for business I would stay here.

We've stayed at all the local hotels in Massena. This property is consistently clean and well-maintained. Recently, there have been major upgrades to the rooms including renovated bathrooms and new carpets. The showers are wonderful, the beds are comfortable and the flat screen TV worked flawlessly. Although the a/c heater is dated, it worked well and the fan sound is akin to white noise in that it lulls you to sleep. They used to have a little breakfast available but that disappeared when covid hit (obviously) but it has not been reinstated. All in all...should you need an affordable, clean overnight stay while visiting Massena, this should be your choice.

Even though we stayed in the first floor which is a non-smoking one, there was an intense tobacco smell from the very entrance of the room.
Presumably the front desk tender was a smoker as well (important to say that I did not see him smoking).
The ventilator (A/C) was extremely noisy from 3:00 AM on room 111 so we couldn't sleep well from that moment on.

No one at the desk at check-in or check-out. No breakfast. Common areas are full of junk and dirty. The cleaning staff that takes care of the room I stayed in is the only bright spot for this location. Quiet hotel as very few people were staying there. Machines in the breakfast area were broken and dirty. Handicap access would be very difficult due to slope of property and the door locations.

Massena is a quaint little town. I had never been there before but I just loved it. I took my 2 cats with me and hunkered down. I was visiting from Canada and we still have very strict protocols so I decided to stay in my room for the entire weekend. I glad that it was a clean room. The only thing that I would change would be to have a room on the first floor. Close to amenities, shopping center across the street. I will definitely be back.
