I met 3 different staff members during my short stay at this hotel. They were the best part of the facility. All were friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The hotel itself isn't bad. But I wouldn't say it's good either. The lobby is nice and the hallways are nice.
My room was an acceptable level of clean. It was however very small. I was ok with its size as it was just me in the trip. I also accepted the smaller room from the desk clerk who was good enough to let me know the third party I booked through booked me a smoking room.
The hotel parking lot was very cramped with difficult turning angles. The exterior stairwell from the parking lot was very sketchy and dirty and as I found out after climbing a flight of stairs you couldn't access the hotel from the outside.
The breakfast was a typical selection, nothing extraordinary but it tasted fine and was filling.
I wouldn't say I would want to spend a lot of time here. But as a short overnight stay it was acceptable.

Stayed over one night with friends while traveling. Everything seemed to be quite good; Rooms were clean as expected, fresh linens, etc. I could comment a little on the overall neatness of the hotel, which for the most part was good, but then I would I think I was "nitpicking". Continental breakfast was more than I expected, with eggs, bacon, waffle maker, and many choices of cereal, fresh fruit and Pastry. Lobby was very nice with tv, and hot coffee around the clock. We arrived after 8:00pm on a Sunday, and "Dar's" was already closed. Sadly, the area around the Inn has seen better times, and most places to eat were also closed for the evening.

Thank you so much for your review. I appreciate you taking the time to let everyone know how we are doing. Yes, Dar's is closed on Sundays, so I'm sorry you missed out on the great food she serves. Maybe next time! Best wishes from everyone at the Quality Inn!

Stayed at the Quality Inn for a recent government event. The hotel is well situated right on the 1 block of 'downtown' in Massena. I stayed in room 104, which was clean, large, had a King Size bed, full bath, table and chair, seat w/ ottoman, television, fridge, microwave and hairdryer. The exercise room is not very large, and the walls are thinner than usual between the rooms. I'd visit again, the decor was very North Country woodsy cute. There is a bar and restaurant, but I didn't visit. The continental breakfast was great - juice, cereal, coffee, and make your own waffles. It's near the town hall, chamber of commerce, and diner-type restaurants.

The pictures and advertisements for this facility are the closest thing to false advertising if not actual. I've traveled to third world countries and have never seen such abysmal conditions. If we could have found better accommodations we would have and when we complained about the room, we were advised that no other rooms were available. The first morning we were greeted by a stopped up bathtub with someone else's hair around our feet and legs, the sink had no stopper, the entrance roof was falling down, only one elevator was working, the ceiling in our room was falling in, the carpet was damp and if you wore socks they felt wet, the smell of stale cigarettes was throughout the halls and stairwells, it didn't appear to be ADA compliant, there were huge potholes in the parking lot, there were broken and boarded up windows on both sides of the facility, there were window shaker A/C units, the chair was broken and torn, rust was on the vents...

All around horrible. There was a smell to the room as you open the door, Once the door was open, I ended up discovering that I had half a room, Could have been perfect for an office. Bed was up against the wall, and the mattress had a huge dip in it, awful sleep. There was 12 inch circular stain on the carpet, mirror was improperly cleaned, lamp shades and bulbs had dust and cob webs on them. Cleary they can't afford people to clean the rooms properly. Oh yes, the AC unit was loud enough, was comparable to a diesel truck parked and idle outside.

The room was very dirty and the front desk person, Michelle, was extremely rude. When we approached to ask a question she was snippy and sarcastic. The lobby was decent and the restaurant was okay but its owned and ran by a different entity. I would never stay here again.

Our floor and room had a musty smell, like an old basement.
The room was entirely too small that the TV was on the side, not at the end of the bed.
There were ants crawling up the wall.
The shower was grimey.
The A/C sounded like a diesel truck was parked outside the window.
There was a brownish red stain next to the bed.
The bed was a double and pushed up against the corner along the wall and the phone was on the wall as there was not enough room for even a night stand.
The toilet was leaking rust around the back onto the floor.
The mirrors in the bathroom had not been cleaned so there were cloudy streaks all over them.
Lamps attached to headboard were dirty snd dusty. Wallpaper was peeling.
The desk chair was torn and rickety, felt like you would fall to one side.

The concierge did not ask us how our stay was as we would have told him then.

Will never be back and would never recommend. Would have been better off sleeping in the car.

We stayed at this hotel for Graduation. When we got in our room it was very small. I was looking out the window and the cover to the heat and air condioner fell off and landed on my foot. The heat and air condition did not work, thankfully it was May so it did not matter. The bed sagged to the middle, and the head board fell off. By now we were at the point of laugh or cry so we laughed. In the morning when my husband went to take a shower there was a big Crash - the shower doors came off. We had to hold them up in order to get it back together and then leave them open son he could take a shower. Next the tissue cover came off, and I'm sure somewhere in the future someone will take a ride off the loose toilet seat. So far this is the worst place we have stayed. But we kept our sense of humor and gave the family a good laugh.

This hotel was recently enovated with beautiful rooms, comfortable beds ans sparkling, new and spotless bathrooms. I believe our AARP rate was about $70.00 a night! Georgous indoor pool. Wonderful free breakfast from 6:30am until 10:am. Fresh coffee in lobby at all times and a beautiful lobby and breakfast room to boot. Friendly and accommodating staff. Can't say enough great things. Have paid over $200.00 a night for much , much lower class accommodations. You won't be sorry--promise.

This was an excellent hotel in downtown Massena, NY. We arrived in the late afternoon and were checked into the room quickly. We selected a small room with a double bed. We were very impressed with the overall amenities of this small room. It was very clean, with plenty of lighting, microwave, large TV, refrigerator, desk,etc.. The bed was very comfortable and had many pillows. The bathroom sparkled and the shower was great. All we wanted was a hot shower, and a soft warm bed to pass out in after our all day trip from Sudbury,Ontario to Massena, NY!. This hotel was perfect for our needs. We had lots of space for parking. The continental breakfast was very good. Lots of choices.. The Quality Inn staff was friendly and well organized.
We had a very good Italian dinner at the nearby "Italian Affair" restaurant.
