The staff is very friendly. As for services except for grab and go items they are pretty much out of commission due to covid.

The rooms are clean. My only complaint is that if their going to sell 2 half bottles of wine for $65 they should not be offering plastic cups wrapped in plastic to their guests. I had to ask for wine glasses or glassware in general and although it wasn’t orthodox to how they would have typically fulfilled the request, they went out of their way to track down wineglasses. Management should have to address the issue not their employees.

Courtyard was a great choice for attending the US Open. The staff members are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms are a reasonable size and clean, but on the smaller size. We were a family group of 4 in a 2 queen room, and it was big enough. Beds were so-so (not up to Marriott standards in my opinion) The bathroom is small and has small pantry-style double doors to save space. The bathroom was spotless with the exception of some mold in the grout. Housekeeping was every other day and that was fine. We used the app to ask for more towels and a friendly staff member delivered them promptly. There is a nice, convenient 24 hour market next to the hotel, and some restaurants and bars nearby (and many of them close around 9:00pm). There is a subway stop about 4 blocks away, easy walk, with access to the 7, a local train out to Mets stadium and the US Open in about 30 to 40 minutes. We’d definitely stay here again for a Mets game or the US Open.

Stayed here for an event in Central Park- the hotel itself is pretty decent for its price. I think at the going rate, it's very good value considering it's right by the bridge and basically gets to Manhattan in 5 min. Being close to the bridge has its con though, mainly, the traffic is horrible during peak time.

The "Manhattan view" isn't very impressive but as I said above, for its price, can't complain much as long as you get a clean room and close proximity to NYC.

One little perk I think is that LIC is pretty hip now and it's 5 min walk from the hotel, so it's not completely in the middle of nowhere, which is often the case for budget hotels.

I can see myself staying again if I have a reason to be near midtown and Manhattan hotels charge crazy rate.

I would say pretty much every area of this hotel is in need of some sort of drastic improvement. The front desk agent who checked us in on the evening of 3/10 had the personality of a dial tone, and didn’t seem to enjoy her job very much. The next morning we were surprised to find breakfast being offered, despite not having any mention about it at check in.

The room was pretty unimpressive and had some condition and cleanliness issues such as a dirty washcloth on the back of the bathroom door, mold in the seam of the shower stall and on the bathroom ceiling. There was tile coming off the shower stall, the shower stall had no water pressure and the head adjustment wouldn’t work. The tray in the coffee bar was all bubbled up as well. We had hot chocolate k-cups that we drank, and when we asked the front desk for more, we were told they don’t offer hot chocolate. Does that mean that we drank hot chocolate that was left from previous guests in the room? Not trying to split hairs but the pillows were flat and had to be folded over to be of any use. It’s surprising that a hotel that is this new had a lot of these issues.

Checkout just consisted of a monotone “thank you” on Sunday morning with zero enthusiasm.. it may have been the same associate who checked us in. Zero welcoming feeling all around.

We were out and about in the city all day and were really only there from 10pm-10am every day, so it got the job done for being a bed and bathroom, but really that was about it. But being a gold member (and no I am not throwing my status out there like I’m a special little star), this was a rather disappointing property.

You can always count on a Marriott to make your stay pleasant. Staff was friendly, hotel well maintained and extremely conveniently located near Queens Plaza & Queensboro Plaza for easy subway access. General Manager Abner provided a credit for breakfast as hot breakfast still isn't being and did so without hesitation. Lots of great food close by & Hudson Market next door offers lots of quick options if you don't want to explore a few blocks. We'll definitely stay here again when we visit for the US Open as it's quick 20 minute subway ride to Flushing Meadows or other direction into the City.

The location was relatively near to Time Square given that there's a direct line. The Subway is 2 minutes away, which makes it really convenient! The hotel is clean and I really love the amenities. There's a 24 hour mart right beside the hotel so you can get food anytime. Within the hotel, there's a 24 hour gym. You can get water from the water dispenser at the basement and there's also a coin operated laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. Though, I wish there's a kettle in the room so that we can get hot water. Apart from that, my trip was made memorable with hospitable staff namely Shaheed, Doug(las) and Therasa (not sure if I got her name spelled correctly)!

This is by no means a bad hotel. Rooms are spacious for New York area and come with standard features. Shower was powerful with clever temperature gauge. A modern look throughout the hotel. The bed may have been one of the comfiest I have experienced in a hotel. It did however have a stray hair on arrival. Attention could also be paid in the harder to clean areas.

The staff were lacking enthusiasm and there was no sense of welcome. No amenities were pointed out when checking in.

The hotel itself is well placed with easy access to subway and quick Uber ride to LGA. However, it is vastly overpriced for what it offers which does make one contemplate returning, especially with the lack of attentiveness.

Have arrived at hotel this evening. It’s in a good location very close to Queens Plaza subway station and an easy journey from JFK. Room is impressive in terms of size and comfort.

My disappointment is that I was asked for a bank card at check in which I assumed would be used for any incidental charges that I might incur. I subsequently noticed that a 100 dollars charge has been put through my bank account. Having queried this at reception the lady advised that this is a ‘deposit’ and will be paid back to me when I leave.

I don’t have a huge problem with this in principle (provided of course that the money is repaid) but surely the hotel should actually tell the customer that they are charging 100 dollars to your bank account rather than just do so without telling you. To add insult to injury I was quite rudely spoken to when I queried this and was advised “you should know this”.

We were here for company business trip. The hotel staff, from check in to housekeeping were very approachable and friendly. The room is nice with in room frig and k cup coffee. The shower is refreshing.
It is close to the subway so you will hear that and a a few cars during rush hour. It’s centrally located next to the R subway stop to Times Square- a ten minute train ride. That was a pleasant surprise!
Also, quick walking distance to an excellent bakery and grocery market across the street. The food choices from the deli right next door is awesome. Enjoyed my stay even with the New York sounds.

I wouldn’t recommend walking, as Times Square is not even in the same borough in the City. Take any of the subway lines that are within 1-2 blocks from the hotel and you’ll get to Times Square in 10-20 mins depending on train wait times.

How much is a taxi from Newark airport?
Answer from Devadasan M
Blacksburg, Virginia38 contributions8 helpful votes
You DON’T want to take a taxi to Long Island City (LIC - where the hotel is). You should, after you disembark from the plane at Newark Airport, look for the New Jersey Transit - NJT (train) ticket vending machine (available inside several terminals) and purchase s ticket to NYC Penn Station. It’s around $14 ( onevway) I think; you can buy return, if you fly out of the same airport on departure. You will get two tickets in that case. After that, you go upstairs to catch the monorail to Newark Airport train station (15 min ride) - train runs every 10 mins or less interval. Very efficient. The NJT ticket is the ticket for the monorail and the train - do not discard ticket after the monorail! You will need it for the NJT train once you are at the train station ststion - monorail will drop you off ( last stop). At the station, catch the NY Penn station New Jersey Transit train ( NOT Amtrak train) and it will take you to Penn Station. Do NOT get off at the Newark Penn Station.... yeah, identical names! You want the last stop, NY Penn station. At Penn station find your way to the A, C , E subway lines and look for the E train. Get off at Queens Plaza need the hotel. The hotel should be visible once you emerge into the open. The station has many exits.... but even though if you take the ‘weong’ Exit, the hotel will be just s block away!
