The Boro Hotel in New York (Queens) is a true gem and offers an excellent accommodation experience that makes staying in the city an unforgettable experience. As soon as you enter the hotel, you are greeted by a modern, minimalist design that has been designed with great attention to detail. The atmosphere is stylish and welcoming at the same time – a perfect retreat after an eventful day in the city.

Rooms are spacious, light-filled and offer stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. Especially the floor-to-ceiling windows make you feel like you're in a luxurious penthouse. The furnishings leave nothing to be desired: comfortable beds, high-quality toiletries and an interior that combines modern comfort with urban chic.

The hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Whether it’s about restaurant recommendations, excursion planning or general questions – the team is always at your side with advice and action.

Also the location is excellent: The Boro Hotel is located in the up-and-coming Long Island City district of Queens, minutes from Manhattan. The proximity to the metro allows for quick and convenient exploration of the city.

All in all, Boro Hotel offers excellent value for money and is ideal for travelers who appreciate stylish accommodation with high comfort and personalized service. Absolutely recommend!

We stayed at the Boro hotel for 5 nights and it was a very positive experience.
The hotel is located in Long Island City approximately 15 miles from JFK and it took us 1 hr with an Uber it was $86 going and $94 on the return. The Uber stand in JFK is easy to find. JFK is having a makeover and busier than usual.
The room we had was Corner Manhattan View Balcony King Bed room 1003. See photos of view from our room. We pre booked a fridge, clothes stand with hangers and a kettle and everything was in the room when we arrived. We had daily room service got clean towels and the bed was made every day.
Sofia at the front desk stood out, always friendly smiling and happy to provide information if required. The other reception staff their names I don’t remember were very friendly too. We got some milk from the bar for our cup of tea and on our arrival it was complimentary but after a few days when we asked for some more milk we were charged $3.37.
The bed was very comfortable and pillows very good too.
The bathroom was spacious with a good shower. A few complimentary toiletries and a hairdryer.
2 complimentary bottles of water in the room. Complimentary coffee and tea between 0500-0900 in the lobby.
TV in the room was ok but the search menu not particularly user friendly. No USB charge points in the room.
Amazing views from our small balcony but not really suitable to use.
No draws for clothes in the room, the sliding door to the bathroom was noisy and stiff. There is a very small metal bedside table next to each side of the bed. The room was dark and had a very loft warehouse feel to it with concrete ceiling.
The Aircon worked very well. The room we had was quiet we didn’t hear any doors slamming but it did help that we had a corner room without neighbors just stairs and the linen cupboard next to us. You can hear the traffic and light sleepers may benefit having earplugs. There is an in-room safe.
The nearest subway is 39 AV- Dutch Kills, 2 blocks away and easy access to Manhattan. We just used our debit card and no issues. Each journey is $2.90
Opposite the hotel is Micheal’s bistro that serve a good reasonable breakfast 🥞 $11.99
A block away is Joe Browns BBQ excellent food and friendly service.
I would definitely recommend this hotel. Don’t expect luxury it’s very minimalist but absolutely excellent for an affordable break in this amazing city.

When looking for a hotel for my birthday weekend, I was shocked at how expensive the hotels in Manhattan have been since my last stay just weeks before the pandemic ($350/night for a room at Holiday Inn Express?). I found out about the Boro Hotel and decided to give it a shot.

Hotel:
*I booked a standard King/Queen, and the room was spacious and clean with a wall of windows that while not a stunning Manhattan view, still had great views of the neighborhood. And as someone who is squeamish about hotel carpets, I really appreciated the hardwood floors. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. My only nitpick is there should be a second night table in each room so guests have somewhere to place their devices while they're charging. I had to move the desk chair next to the outlet to charge mine. Mini fridges are available only by request. It would have been nice to have it as a standard amenity, but not a deal breaker.

*The staff was great. Always pleasant and helpful. If you want daily housekeeping, you have to let the front desk know upon check-in.

Location:

*The nearest subway station (39th Ave/Dutch Kills) is about a five-minute walk, with Manhattan less than 10 minutes away via the N or W train. The neighborhood is mostly residential, but there are plenty of bodegas and restaurants (I recommend the hotel restaurant Beebe's, as well as John Brown's Barbeque, Samosa Bites, and Cafe Xochimilco).

Overall, I was pleased with my stay and would definitely come back.

Great staff, great location and good facilities. There were 2 train stations that took nearby and it was approximately 20 minutes to the locations we wanted to visit.

The rooms were simple and very gave authentic rustic vibes. It was everything we needed (nothing fancy or flary which we liked). Rooms were air-conditioned but they were well-insulated, so we didn't need to use it.

The rooftop views were amazing (only open 5-11pm) BUT the drink prices were excessive.

We were happy with what we paid and what we received :) Would stay here again if visiting New York again.

Great location just a few minutes walk from the subway that drops you into central Manhattan in just a few stops, hugely convenient but far enough away that you can experience staying in a real neighbourhood at much more affordable price. Our room was spacious, modern, and clean with a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. The pizzas and fresh coffee and pastries were a treat and of the highest quality but the icing on the cake was the staff who were courteous, helpful, and friendly. A wonderful stay in NYC and a highly recommended hotel.

Even though the industrial style of the hotel is not my favorite and remodeling didn't happen there yesterday, I really liked the place and will definitely come back! I think I got the best for the price I paid.
The hotel is really clean! The bed linens, towels, blankets and pillows are white and well washed. I got all amenities that i needed and all employees that I dealt with were most helpful.
The location is great, just 12 minutes of walk to Queens Plaza (blue line), two stops to the downtown. It may be another transportation even closer.
The view of the Manhattan is amazing! I didn't use a balcony much though because the floor is made of thick iron mash rods and it was a little bit scary for me to look down. The roof bar has the best view and worth to go.

I want to thank David and Toufki (sorry if I misspelled your name) for making my mother's and my stay at the Boro hotel in New York comfortable and pleasant. I think a manager and the whole team do really good job. Very professional, thoughtful and extremely nice! Thank you.

We stayed at the Boro for a week and booked a corner room with a view of Manhattan.

The room is very modern and minimalist, which we generally like. However, this means there is hardly any storage space, for example there is no wardrobe.

The only closed storage option was a drawer in the wardrobe.

The view of Manhattan is really great and fascinated us every morning and evening.

There is a big minus point for the beds, however. They really felt like a hammock, totally saggy and absolutely unsuitable for a week's stay.

Our backs were already hurting after the second night, this urgently needs to be improved.

Overall, a good price/performance ratio with room for improvement.

Recently, my partner and I stayed at the BORO Hotel in Queens at pretty much the going rate of close to $500 a night. The room could charitably be described as a bunker with amenities, including an unsecured sliding glass door to an unsecured balcony which provided the only possibility of fresh air. For almost the entirety of our stay that night, there was a loud all-night party being held. The cinder-block wall not only did not muffle the voices of screeching partyers, it seemed to magnify the noise. Our attempts to ask the front desk to have security restore enough quiet for a decent night's sleep were about as effective as the walls.

The following morning, we sought out a manager in order to file a complaint and ask for a refund for the room because the hotel had failed in its duty to "provide the conditions for a decent night's sleep." There was no manager on the premises, and the assistant positioned behind the picnic table cum front desk informed us that we had a valid complaint and would be contacted by a manager later that day. 2 months later, we've yet to hear back from BORO Hotel.

BORO was quite happy to take my money and run away from their responsibility!

It goes without saying that every hotel (and seemingly every room in every hotel) has its own personality. As does every member of the staff.

When I reflect on my 16-night stay at BORO Hotel, the word that comes to mind is cozy. Its assistant manager, David, and his front desk team made me feel at home.

They are flexible, responsive, thoughtful, and genuine. They upgraded my room in less than an hour when I mentioned that I needed a bit more space. They brewed complimentary espresso when I happened to miss the daily morning “coffee hour”.

They referred me to an excellent dry cleaner when I discovered that my khakis had a stain. They even broke room assignment protocol on one particular night when I was having trouble sleeping.

The rooms are spotless; and housekeeping is attentive. But the character of the building is somewhat unique in its furnishing and décor. “Rustic charm” is the descriptor that comes to mind. You certainly won’t forget you’re in NYC (views from the rooftop are flawless); but you might just wonder how ownership managed to bring a taste of country to a concrete jungle.

If you’re looking for a reasonably-priced hotel – something easy, mellow, and mild-mannered – this is your spot…

This was my first time at Boro Hotel. I spent a week there visiting family and it was great! The room was compact but had everything I needed like a big bed, nice bathroom with a great rain shower, bottles of water and a safe to store valuables in. It was quiet so great for sleeping and even had a balcony with a skyline view of Manhattan. Elevator service was especially good, I only waited a few seconds to get down to the peaceful vibe of the lobby in the morning to get my free coffee. I ate at the restaurant, Beebe's, in the lobby 3 times and it was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the location is great, being able to walk to the nearby subway station to get into Manhattan or to some of the nearby deli's and restaurants. I will definitely stay at Boro Hotel again next time I am traveling to the area.

Pretty short walk to the N/W station at 39th St (5 -6 minutes tops) to get you into a lot of Manhattan destinations with no transfer or minimal transfers needed. Second closest station is Queensboro Plaza, maybe 8-10 minutes walking, where you get the N/W again but add the 7 train, which is important if you want the east side (lower or upper) since you get Grand Central station that way and the transfer to the 4/5/6, but you can also get Penn Station on the 7. And in the other direction, the rest of Queens, same deal. N/W to Astoria or 7 to Flushing. There’s also the E/M/R Queens Plaza or 36th St stations but those are a bit far for me, but people who walk more than I do can probably handle that one too. Longest walk is the F train at 21st/Queensbridge station, but sometimes you really need the F train for easier access to upper West Side or if you want Lower East Side, or the village (Greenwich Village) without having to transfer. Transfers aren’t that big a deal during the week because of such frequent service but on the weekend there can be longer waits for transfers. It’s not that heavily populated a neighborhood but it’s not unsafe. The only time I’ve gotten even remotely concerned is the walk to the F train station, just a lot of industrial and not as much residential.

The Boro is in Long Island City which is where there used to be a lot of warehouses and was very industrial. However it is perfectly safe to walk about and explore (even in the evening). My parents visited back in March and stayed at his hotel. My mother has MS and needs a wheelchair. They had no issues. The other advantages at staying at the Boro (or just in LIC in general) is that they are a few minutes walk 39th Ave, Queens Plaza, 21st Queensbridge and Queensboro Plaza Stations. This gives you a vast range of subway trains right on the doorstep. Not only connecting you to the rest of Queens. Such as Astoria. But also gives you quick access into Manhattan. Which is only one stop on the N/W from Queensboro Plaza. Therefore if you want to do a lot of exploring this location is ideal as it gives you all the means to easily do so.
