Im very satisfied with my stay and come back here in the future.hotel staff were nice espeyAnthony at the front desk. The only problem is the location i did not feel safe to walk outside alone at night.Garbage was all over the street but overall the hotel was nice, clean and comfortable.
We initially arrived the same night as tropical storm Ida. That night we blew a fuse and did not have electricity over night. We also had water in the room (wet carpet). Afterwards, we were moved to a different room, which was fine. The location is near the subway (a little over a block to 39th Ave Dutch Kiln) and also close to Queens Plaza.
Worst Beyond Imagination. Stay away regardless. “Free parking” is to park at the street which requires to move before 7 am. “Breakfast included” is cold and dirt cheap, valuing at $2 at most. The staff is without hospitality at all.
There were a few pros; the staff was nice and the room was clean however the cons far outweight the pros. The street was closed due to the demolition of the building across the street which was as you can imagine incrediably loud. Upon checking in the front desk staff was not wearing a mask which seemed strange in these times and was concerning. No signs were up asking guests to either and I saw quite a few without masks too. There was some kind of street party next to the hotel will music blasting so loud that it could be heard in detail by the partcipants on the Zoom meeting I had to take for work and I was on the 7th floor! This went on for hours and also happened the next day (although to be fair the next day it only went on between 1-5 pm). When I spoke to the front desk they said the police normally come at this time and tell them to settle down (so this is a recurring daily issue apparently ) and that I was not the only one complaining. The free breakfast offered is vending machine muffins in a serving bowl. I am assuming this is part of Covid precautions but if this is the case and you are trying to be careful then why does your staff and guests not have to wear a mask? It just seems contradictory. When I asked to change rooms because of the noise I was told it wouldn't really help because there was construction going on on the other side of the building too but they would do it if I wanted but if it is the same why bother? Overall, super disappointing. I am a local looking for a place to occasionally have a staycation during the pandemic and if it was not such a horrible experience I would've made this place a regular. The staff again is very kind and the hotel is nice but the location and safety protocols are just not at all at any standards worth the price. Tip- if you book through the Hotels Tonight app. It is non refundable and expect you to call them when you are in the process of trying to sort out the issue not after. They will not help you after your stay. I wasn't aware of this so it was no help when seeking a refund. So just sharing incase you ever have an issue too now you will know.…
The staff is not friendly at all. They take the towels every day but do not replace them. I had to call front desk three times to request towels and I was told that there was no one available at the moment. The smell in the bathroom is not good, is a combination between cigarette and weed. Regarding the “breakfast” it was sad. It should not been considered in the category of breakfast included
