This hotel is clean and comfortable . Great TV channels such as HBO and Food Network, friendly staff, and free coffee and ice water in the lobby made things very pleasant. The price was half what I would pay if staying in the Times Square area. Street parking was easy to find.

Only reason I'm not giving it 5 starts is that the location is a couple of blocks outside the Queens Plaza area, in a somewhat struggling neighborhood. It was pretty deserted at night so even though the subway was nearby, I felt a little concerned for safety.

Rooms are small, great city views, has everything you need for a lower price than staying in Manhattan.
Breakfast is nothing to write home about; grab and go style (not hot). Don’t expect to eat if you have any dietary restrictions. But after reading other reviews I had pretty low expectations and wasn’t disappointed

Room and bathroom very clean and functional. The breakfast offered is a bit poor.

The hotel is located in a city area with several metro lines to Manhattan, so that it only takes 15 minutes to get there on average.

The manager and staff allow patrons to enter lobby and elevators without face coverings on several occasions. The Manager Brian allowed this 3 times with 3 different patrons in s 3 hour period that I personally witnessed and complained about. Nothing was done. When I then complained to customer care, Brian felt the need to call my room and explain to me that it’s difficult for him to make people comply. He was confrontational about me complaining. I left 3 days early and went to another hotel. When leaving, the receptionist and cleaning staff both had their masks below the nose. WTH? They obviously don’t take Covid seriously. And if the management allows this, how can you expect the employees to enforce it.

I was on holiday and stayed at the microtel in december month.
The hotel is fine, BUT!!
I had the experience, that when I should pay for the room at the counter with my VISA card and it has run through I was told by the staff that it has not gone through, this even though it said 'approved' on the card terminal. As I could not show that it has gone through, I had to run the card through again to get the room, This time I was told, it went through.
But when I get home from vacation, I could see that the amount for paying the room has been charged twice on my account, which is consistent with the fact that it showed 'approved' the first time I ran the card through.
I have tried to write the hotel twice, asking to have my money back for the one transaction, with no response what so ever!!
I find this very frustrating. One thing is, that mistakes happen, but it is very wrong, that there is no response when you address the mistake.
So I recomment, if you stay at this microtel, pay in advance or be sure not to make your payment twice at the counter.

Worst Beyond Imagination. Stay away regardless. “Free parking” is to park at the street which requires to move before 7 am. “Breakfast included” is cold and dirt cheap, valuing at $2 at most. The staff is without hospitality at all.

Dear yigangz2016, I am deeply concerned that the usual friendliness of our front desk staff was missing during your most recent stay with us. You are correct that we do not offer free parking and we strive to make this clear in all of our marketing and collateral. Additionally, we are currently reviewing our breakfast selections in order provide our guests with a higher level of hospitality. We appreciate your honest feedback and we wish you safe travels in the future. Cordially, Front Office Management Team

The staff is not friendly at all. They take the towels every day but do not replace them. I had to call front desk three times to request towels and I was told that there was no one available at the moment. The smell in the bathroom is not good, is a combination between cigarette and weed. Regarding the “breakfast” it was sad. It should not been considered in the category of breakfast included

The LIC Microtel Hotel is near all subway lines. As a rewards member I was able to take advantage of early check in without a fee. The breakfast bar is typical of the covid times we are in. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Rooms are small but a NY hotel is only for showering and sleeping. The price is considerably less than a Manhattan hotel of same quality. The neighborhood is a little sketchy and may not be suitable for young families.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was professional and accommodating. Everywhere in this establishment was well modernly designed and clean. The guestroom I stayed in was exceptional. Also the location of this hotel is superb! Just literally steps from a lot of restaurants, convenience stores and train stations QueensPlaza and Queensboro Plaza Station. I recommend staying at this hotel.

Our experience at this hotel was fine in every respect. Much better than the last time we stayed there, which was during COVID. Our room was very clean and attractive - not large but more than adequate by NYC standards. My wife heard noise from the nearby subway, but I slept right through it. Breakfast was a MAJOR improvement over last visit; a good selection of cererals, pastries, yogurt, etc, served in a spacious, quiet room. No problem at check-in or check-out, and they had no problem with our waiting in the lobby for over an hour after checkout to meet our son. The metro is about two short blocks away. Not many restaurants nearby, but we knew that. Parking was difficult; we arrived around 2 pm and had to circle several blocks several times, but eventually got a spot right across the street from the hotel. Patience is the key! Only minor drawback; the building next door is a former hotel now used to house homeless women, and a couple of them were out on the street shouting and acting very disturbed. But, everybody's gotta live somewhere.
