We stayed at your Long Island City location on the nights of May 11th & 12th.

Just wanted to send a word of thanks to your amazing staff, who really take customer service to a higher level. They are like a playful family, genuinely seem to like each other and carry a welcomed informal presence! The clean hotel is definitely a 'no frills' place; but we actually appreciated that a good night's sleep is all you really need when you are on the go sightseeing in the city most of the day.

A particular thanks goes out to Kiara Camacho, our first contact upon arriving at the front desk. Enthusiastic, energetic, helpful and knowledgeable. That first contact and greeting made us feel welcomed in NYC, especially after hearing various horror stories of indifferent or rude hotel employees within the city.

While I worried I'd be too far for the Manhattan list of tourist things to do, the hotel is 2 minute walk to the subway that takes you directly downtown in minutes! The hotel location turned out to be a safer, cleaner, and more quiet alternative to the downtown core without compromising accessibility.

Lots of shops and restaurants close by.

Look forward to staying there again in the future.

All the best,
Ed Boettcher

We always stay in Long Island City when visiting NYC lately, as it’s an easy subway ride to Times Square and hotel rates are better. Access to the subway from this hotel is very easy and convenient.

There is a parking lot across the street from ALoft and it is $24 a day. We tried to find on street parking with no luck so we used the lot twice. This is convenient, but if you stay at The Paper Factory also in LIC there’s on street parking in the neighborhood, and we really enjoyed that hotel too.

This hotel has a complementary breakfast if you book certain room rates such as AAA. It’s ok. There are oatmeal packages, yogurt, make your own waffles and an assortment of baked goods. It’s a little challenging to get to the food as several people are always trying to access the same small area. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The room was small but the bed was comfortable. Street noise wasn’t bad on the high levels of hotel.

We didn’t visit the bar as we were booked with activities but it looked cute!

It is often complicated to find a nice hotel that you can recommand with full sincerity or that you are eager to go to this destination again just to book a room: Aloft LIC is just one of those. 👍🏽
I wanted to take some time to give a full description of the amenities but it is way better to give it to You : the excellent free wifi, the sympathetic staff, the amazing location of the hotel which is 2mn away from the best MTA subway line (which goes straight to Manhattan in 8mn) or straight to the Airtrain for JFK, the wonderful set up of the room full of amenities (USB port everywhere, comfy bed, huge TV, big shower, free hotel drinks and water), the diversity of food and beverages that you Can buy 24/7 in the lobby, the smart Make À Green Choice program which gives you access to $5 vouchers each day you keep your room out of the housekeeping...
Is there anything else I can add ?
I was only disappointed by 2 things though : the water that wasn't warm at all on a few nights because of regular cloak (but a call to the front desk will fix it) + some working noises on the building around that was quite irritating on the morning.
Except for that, AlOft LIC is an absolute must-stay ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🖤

Don't believe the room description.
The city view is just a view to buildings around the corner. You can see other people's bedroom. Don't pay extra money for the city view!!!
The crew and specially the supervisor don't attempt to help. They don't really care what you think and they don't try to make you any happier.

The only good thing here is the school janitor who came quickly because the a/c system didn't work.

All the hotels in my east cost vacation were just great, but the staying in aloft long island was just terrible.

As a Titanium Elite, this was my first stay since March. I have stayed at this hotel cumulatively about 2 months over the past year or so, and love it every time. However, this stay was different. I called in advance and person on phone offered and placed us on the 14th floor which was great. At arrival, we were given a room on the 4th floor with no other options. The proximity noise from construction kept us up on and off all night. Also, at check in, I was not offered a welcome gift of points. Water was also not offered. If these are changes due to COVID, understood, but I would try to explain for the changes rather than not bring it up. I understood the food area was closed, but still, there’s a experience that frequent travelers are used to, and this check in experience was not it.

I called and asked for towels and the associate on the phone asked for the room number. 40 minutes later, the towels never showed up. I went down to the lobby myself at 10:00p and found two front desk representatives chatting with the towels in a bin behind them. That was disappointing.

I had to do a check out/in process since I had two separate reservations. After some time, it looked like the representation had some issues with the computer and the process was slower than usual. I asked if I could do this at a later time, and the agent gave an attitude that we are “almost done just put in your credit card.” Again, a soft skill failure which shouldn’t be impacted on service standards during this time.

I am unsure if these issues are related to new standards due to the pandemic, but I was disappointed with a usually excellent place to stay. The service level and noise outside brought me to this rating of 3/5.

Once you get past the narrow hallway and the size of the room you're fine. Most importantly, the hotel is extremely clean with modern decor, service from the time you checkin until the time you leave is wonderful, the views are incredible and you're almost surrounded with subway stations with a number of different lines that get you into Manhattan or any of the boroughs quickly. The only downside is that there are not a lot of sit down restaurants (but plenty of deli's, pizza and fast food) nearby so you're almost forced to take the subway or an uber into the city if you're looking for fine dining. But, otherwise, we were extremely pleased with or stay. Hotel is quiet, beds are comfy and the shower is like a power wash! Overall, you can't go wrong with a stay here, especially since the price is reasonable compared to Manhattan hotels and a much better view!

From the moment we walked in, JP made us feel comfortable. Everyone had their masks on and sanitizers were available throughout the lobby and around the waiting area for lobby. Rooms are great and they’re cleaned very thoroughly. The garden space aloft has at this location is superb. Nonetheless, this review is due to JP’s hospitality and nothing else, he’s doing an excellent job.

My friends and I headed to LIC and it was definitely worth the trip. The double room at Aloft was big enough to comfortably accommodate four people. The rooftop view was absolutely stunning and open to guests at no extra charge; we were able to grab Chipotle across the street and get the experience of a rooftop dinner at the hotel. The staff was friendly and gladly gave extra towels. This is the place to be if you want excellent service, a great view, and accessibility to city life, shops and restaurants.

I’ve stayed at the Aloft on several occasions. Each time was an absolute delight. JP, the GM and his staff are extremely welcoming and always willing to go above and beyond. The hotel has awesome indoor and outdoor seating, great for kicking back and relaxing. The location is super ideal with tons of bars and restaurants close by. The rooms are always in tip top shape with views that speak for themselves. 10/10 would totally recommend staying here to friends and family. Can’t wait to come back! :)

I work in the neighborhood, but my mom was visiting NYC, so I decided to put her in the Hyatt near Aloft so she could be nearby. We had a terribly unpleasant check-in experience at Hyatt (terrible customer service) so I canceled my reservation even though it was non refundable and walked around the corner to which we stumbled upon ALOFT.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted so warmly by the GM, Kiara, and the other gentleman whose name I can’t remember (it was his first day) that I was so glad I canceled my reservation at the previous hotel. They felt like family.

ALOFT truly understands the meaning of hospitality—their friendliness and professionalism truly reflect that Management invests in their staff. I would highly recommend you book your stay with ALOFT. Their rooms and rooftop boast stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, something even I, as a native New Yorker do not get to experience.

Moral of the story, don’t go anywhere else. This place is IT!

I did not pay attention to any parking lot as I was dependent on Lyft during this trip. Being in New York or around the area, I doubt it, and as the other reviewer mentioned, yes there is street parking pretty much everywhere BUT they're always taken.
