The Allegria Hotel garners praise for its exceptional staff and stunning beachfront location, offering guests immediate beach access and picturesque ocean vistas. While the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and space, a few guests have encountered decor that feels outdated and issues with air conditioning. The hotel's atmosphere is often described as lively and welcoming, particularly in communal spaces. Despite these pluses, the value proposition is somewhat tarnished by high resort and valet fees, as well as some guests feeling misled about room views.

Nice locations -clean rooms --roof top pool lovely looking out at ocean.

$49 to valet overnight --During summer parking is tough - we found a spot right in front of hotel

Service lacking --

We got there early - rooms were ready but I would be charged $50 to check in early . Front desk said we couldn't check in till 4PM - now I panicked - I needed to get ready for a wedding. I was just ready to pay the $50 - I asked anything before 4 is charged ? You can come back at 2pm without a charge--- Why wasn't I told that at beginning?

When I want to get my stuff from car - no one helped us. When I asked for help they gave me a cart . I guess since I didn't valet - I didn't get help.

I paid for partial beach room -- As I was checking in - I asked if room 720 was near elevator (my husband uses a walker). A gentlemen told them to give me 320- I asked is it still partial beach view. Well now me my husband and the luggage cart get to room - which is a view of the ice cream shack next door. I called asked to be moved --After auguring with the gentlemen --I reminded him I was the customer and wanted what I paid for, He told me that I didntt pay for oceanfront (never asked for that) Told me there were no other rooms available.- I pointed out 10 minutes ago the lady at front desk was giving me 720 - Finally he told me to bring all my stuff to lobby to get a new room . -He was discouraging me from moving.... Well room 720 was exactly what I paid for - beautiful partial view of ocean - and it was very close to elevator ---

Dining staff -slow but we were enjoying people watching on the boardwalk---
Ordered a diet coke and it was definitely a regular coke -- server insisted it was right -- my huband asked to please bring him a different diet coke - and this time it was perfect (didnt care that an honest mistake was made - couldn't understand why it just wasnt replaced)

Oh well -- it was only one night -- and we got to enjoy some beach time -

CathleenM896, it's great to hear that you appreciated the lovely rooftop pool and clean rooms. It sounds like you had a bit of a challenging experience with service and room arrangements. It’s always our goal to make guests feel comfortable and tended to, and it seems like some details could have been communicated more clearly. Your feedback on dining and other services is valuable, and we'll make sure it's shared with our team. Despite these hiccups, it's nice to know you enjoyed the beach time and location. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.

We booked two oceanfront king rooms @$623 a night for this past weekend. Check in was easy; the rooms were nice and AC worked quite well despite intense heat. Front desk team a bit overwhelmed on a very busy Friday afternoon, however they handled things well and continued to do so all weekend, if you were face to face with them. Just don't try calling!! Wifi was down and Verizon service is almost non-existent in the building (not their fault): no attempt was made to compensate for Wifi. Mechanical issues forced pool to close for a few hours on Sunday; was repaired by early evening.

Excellent: nice linens, refrigerator in the room, the best location, nice, small pool with very lovely attendants.

Not so great: Given the hotel's location on the boardwalk and public restaurants, it seems to be a changing station for beachgoers who are not staying there. By the end of each day the public restrooms were filthy, sand everywhere. In addition, there were people at the pool who were NOT staying at the hotel. They had free rein: took water, towels, and prime lounge chairs and umbrellas. At $600+ a night, the hotel should give preference to people who are staying there: there was no checking of room keys, beach passes etc. I resent paying so much money and not being guaranteed a lounge/umbrella because of day trippers. You need to find a way to control this.

Once we enquired, they told us that the rooms are cleaned every other day. This means for a Friday check-in, your room is again cleaned on Sunday. One of our rooms was not cleaned at all. Again, no attempt at recompensation. At these rates, I do expect daily cleaning and more than one tiny trash can.Lighting can also be improved: no overhead lights in the bedroom part, except for one dim one over the desk. Again: not a four star experience. Bedside charging stations would also be welcome on both sides of the bed.

Although there was a landline in the room, which was needed due to Verizon situation, there were no instructions on how to make a call, reach the desk etc. Basic Motel 6 stuff.

This hotel embodies the maxim:" Location, location, location." Don't expect $600 worth of hotel...maybe $300 at best.

The hotel is located right on the boardwalk. They provides two beach passes, towels and two chairs that you carry onto the public beach adjacent to the hotel.

Stayed for three nights in an ocean view “renovated” suite. The mattress was very comfortable, and air conditioning worked well. The room itself is very spacious but dated. There were dirty a/c vents, carpet stains, paint peeling in the shower and mismatched furniture. The second bathroom had a sliding door that didn’t fit. When closed the door was still open about four inches. The door was not broken, the track was just installed that way.

No complementary coffee, you can buy coffee downstairs either at the restaurant or at a pay machine in the lobby. There was an older looking coffee machine in the room.

Here was our big problem:
We reserved three nights and prepaid in full directly through the hotel’s website for an ocean view suite. When we arrived the front desk person told us our room was not available due to a mechanical problem. The best she could do was offer us a basic room looking at construction scaffolding and give us a small price adjustment credit. (She was going to base the credit on the rack rate for the small room vs the prepayment discounted rate for the suite). While she was trying to find other options, I saw on their website they currently had suites available to book. She said she couldn’t give any of them to me and kept going in the back to check with a manager.

I requested numerous times to speak to the manager, but was told "he was busy", she "already spoke to him and there was nothing else that could be done." The lady I was speaking to also told me she was a front desk manager.

After 45 minutes of back-and-forth discussions, the assistant general manager happened to walk by. When I explained the circumstances to her, the assistant general manager was quickly able to make an alternative suite available. This was aggravating and my take was the front desk manager didn’t want to deal with the situation

Overall, I would still recommend the hotel if you wanted to stay in Long Beach. Just understand it's not a luxury hotel and hope they will give the rooms a deep cleaning.

HowTraveler, it's appreciated that you took the time to provide such thorough feedback. The boardwalk location is something many guests enjoy, as well as the beach amenities. It is great to hear that the mattress and air conditioning in the suite were to your liking. Your detailed observations about the room condition are noted. Cleanliness and maintenance are top priorities, and it seems there are areas where improvements can be made. The issues with the second bathroom door and the room’s outdated appearance will be reviewed for future enhancements. The experience at check-in must have been frustrating, and it is reassuring to hear the assistant general manager was able to resolve the situation eventually. Your patience is appreciated, and the hotel team will certainly take your comments into consideration to enhance guest experiences moving forward. Looking forward to welcoming you back and providing a better experience next time.

I live in Florida and had to travel up to Long Beach, NY (LB) on 9/24/24 for my mother's funeral on 9/25/24. I stayed at the Allegria Hotel on LB for a couple of reasons. First, it is only a couple of blocks from where we held my mother's service, and second, it came recommended as the finest hotel on LB. A very good friend actually made the two-night reservation for me using points which caused a little confusion about who was actually staying there, but we added my name and all went smoothly. Upon check-in, I was handed the room key-card and two $20 restaurant vouchers. I used the restaurant, which is directly on the boardwalk facing the ocean, only for breakfasts. The service at the restaurant was very good as was the breakfast food. The front desk staff at check-in was very friendly and professional. The hotel itself is very well appointed, boasting a gym, the restaurant, meeting rooms, and spacious and clean guest rooms (mine was a king with an inside view). My favorite aspect of the room was the bathroom. Huge, with everything you'd need: hair blower, abundance of varying sized towels, hand soap and lotion. The rain shower was really nice and included shampoo/conditioner and body soap. I was due to check-out on 9/26/24 and fly back to Florida but due to Hurricane Helene, I wasn't sure if my flight would go or not. I booked an extra night in an abundance of caution and spoke with Sharon at the front desk to make those arrangements. I told her I may have to cancel if my flight was leaving as scheduled but that I wouldn't really know with a lot of time to cancel properly. She told me not to worry about it, and as it turned out, I was able to leave as scheduled and cancel the extra night without penalty. Thank you, Sharon, for the assist with that uncertain situation. So, all in all, a sad occasion, but a really nice two-night stay. I highly recommend the Allegria Hotel on LB, NY!

We couldn’t be more thrilled with the experience we had at The Allegria Hotel! From the very beginning, Jessie, the catering sales manager, was incredibly accommodating, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. She was always quick to respond to our questions and went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of for our guests.

The feedback from everyone who stayed was overwhelmingly positive—guests were absolutely delighted by the luxurious rooms, which were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The views were breathtaking, adding an extra special touch to the stay.

Our overall experience exceeded all expectations. We are so grateful for their exceptional hospitality and couldn't have asked for a better place to host our guests for our wedding weekend. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay!

I have dined at this hotel/restaurant several times. It's got a fun and lively bar scene, which is great if you are coming off the beach or in the mood for that ambience. But every time I go there with my family and hope to be seated in the main dining room, there is an "insistence" that a reservation be made. Which is insane when 3/4 of the dining room is empty. Having worked in the "hospitality" industry, being hospitable and polite is key. What I found was a poorly trained staff and a snooty & rude hostess that kept trying to one-up me. She had no concept of humility or politeness. When I asked to speak to the manager she refused and barked back "she didn't have one". I insisted knowing that was nonsense. My wife, child and I were forced to sit by the entrance in a high-top, music blasting, people shouting and a blast of wind every time the door opened. What was most infuriating was the sight of the empty dining room. I kept seeing no one going in and people leaving. Eventually, the manager came by and apologized and offered to move us. By then we had ordered and were used to the situation and our waitress Kristen. We all enjoyed the fare as it was good and the service acceptable. Although providing silverware when seated, salt and pepper shakers and understanding the menu would be bear minimal. Hopefully, management will provide better leadership for the novice staff. Don't know if I'd go back no matter if you're the only place on the beach.

Your insights on your recent visit to our establishment are indeed valuable. We understand that you have frequented our hotel and restaurant coupled with the expectation of a wholesome dining experience. Our hotel's lively bar scene, which you appreciate and find fun represents our commitment to offering all our guests an atmospheric experience they can enjoy. We apologize for any instances where you didn't find our staff hospitable and polite. These are integral qualities we encourage in our team to create a welcoming environment. The situation you described regarding the front of house function, including our hostess’s behaviour seems truly not in line with our service ethos. We fundamentally believe in treating all our guests with respect, courtesy, and a fine level of hospitality and hence, deeply regret any inconvenience caused due to this unfortunate incident. Your distress indicated over being seated at an unfavourable location near the entrance, amidst the louder music, shouting patrons, and consistent gusts of wind is an aspect we sincerely regret. Understandably, the sight of a largely vacant dining room would compound the frustration. We appreciate your patience and forgiveness when the manager finally intervened, offering to move your family - albeit at a point when the gesture was less impactful. Your uncertainty about returning to us is a genuine concern for us. Our ultimate aim is to become an establishment of choice for all our patrons. We appreciate your candid feedback and will ensure that we use it constructively to enhance our guest experiences. While we acknowledge that we have areas to improve, we hope that we can offer you a much more satisfactory and holistic experience should you choose to visit us again. Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed review. This dialogue will allow us to focus on areas that require improvement to ensure the delivery of unparalleled service to all our guests.

Overall decent but not worth the expense. Rooms without ocean view have very bad views of dingy and dirty space. They charge a $54 resort fee a night and only give you beach chairs and towels, no umbrella. And they forget to tell you that the $54 includes tax so you think you are only paying $50. The drinks at bar are expensive and watered down with lots of ice. The cleaning service is ok but they came late the first day so when we came back from beach at 5:00 pm room was still not cleaned.

The Allegria Hotel seems to be the only ocean front hotel property on Long Beach, NY. It is perfectly located in the middle of the boardwalk making it conveniently accessible from the Long Island Rail Road Station, the pristine sandy beach, major shops, & restaurants. It is great to be there during any season...

My wife & I loved being there to celebrate her birthday in the middle of a "Dead Season" during very cold weather in January 2025. It made us feel that there was almost nobody else around... The whole place belonged to us :) although, some guests in the hotel were attending a wedding...

Meanwhile, we had a very warm reception from the first moment when we arrived & were greeted with a huge, friendly smile from Derek at the front desk, as if we knew each other for a long time. Derek registered us in less than 5 minutes, gave us great news about an upgrade to a room with a breathtaking ocean front view, and made 2 magnetic room keys that were flawlessly working all the time during our stay.

Our shower was not bringing water temperature hot enough especially for this kind of unusually cold winter... so we went to the Front Desk to report it. We were warmly greeted by Sharon who gave us a big smile, asked to wait for a second, brought a piece of a shower body similar to what we had in the room shower. She showed us a little trick how to press a little button on that metal part to make water temperature increase beyond the stopper. That was probably designed to prevent an accident & burn yourself. Thank you Sharon! She can be in charge of the plumbing /engineering department ;)

We also had an outstanding dinner & breakfast experience at the Atlantica Restaurant of the Allegria Hotel, from the moment we entered, being greeted by maitre d' Lois who treats the customers like her best friends. We were lucky to be served by Anny for both occasions. She was extremely prompt with the service we received & we were not rushed. Anny was super attentive to all our choices & requests while giving us some great recommendations. The Atlantica Restaurant menu provided a great variety of choices. Our food, during both dinner & breakfast, was absolutely delicious. Our compliments to the Chef!!!

FInally, the check-out proces was like a breeze, facilitated by Jeannette who was extremely fast. She asked us to return in the future, & wished us a safe trip home...

We really felt like our experience was like being home, surrounded by very friendly people, & wishing us to come back soon...

P.S.
The hotel was meticulosly kept clean by the housekeeping department.
Thank you all for making our stay so pleasant & memorable!!!

I was going to book two rooms for two nights here in mid-December but when you get to the small print it says $35 resort fee for WIFI and a $20 food voucher. Well breakfast eggs are $17 per person and coffee is $4 per person, so what good does $20 voucher do two people? Plus, why do I have to be forced to eat there to use a voucher I do not want. It is a scam! Yes. it is a scam. It is winter on Long Island and this hotel charges for WIFI access in 2023 and a forced useless restaurant credit. I will not stay here and I will book my two rooms elsewhere.

BosU_12, we appreciate your feedback regarding the resort fee and the restaurant voucher. We believe in transparency and take your words seriously. Our aim is to provide pricing details that offer added value and the extra services such as WIFI is part of our effort to enhance guest experience. The restaurant credit is an inclusive deal aimed to provide a pleasant dining experience, however, we understand that it may not be beneficial to all guests and we'll consider your perspective. We hope you'll reconsider and give us a chance to deliver a more fitting experience.

No continental breakfast. You have to request a coffee maker. Smoking area is outside the hotel. You are charged a resort fee which includes beach passes, beach chairs and beach towels. No alcohol on the beach. You have to call multiple times to contact front desk with the hope of someone picking up the call.

I stayed here in July- the rooms were fine (especially if you get an ocean view), but what you are really paying for is the location; based on the recent reviews, the cleanliness in the common areas and hospitality are still subpar.
