The Kaatskill Mountain Club was built reminiscing those grand Catskill Mountain lodges from the early 1900's that were known for their rustic elegance. The hotel will transcend you back to a simpler time with its mission style ambience. Conveniently located next to Hunter Mountain and nestled in the Catskill Mountains our mission is for guest to enjoy the natural beauty of our area and feel carefree.

a real rip off. The hotel overcharged from the expected fee. The management was very nasty and unrelenting. they charge for everything. You have to wear a mask full time even though every where else does not require and it is not state law. The go by their Colorado company mandate apparently. It was unknown at time of booking. they overwork al their staff to the point they can't possible do a good job.

Response from Kimberly Pickett, General Manager at Kaatskill Mountain Club
Responded 3 weeks ago
We are sorry you feel the fees were unexpected during your stay. Your reservation booked with RCI provides you the details around the fees that are charged prior to your confirming the reservation and we confirmed that with RCI. Although no one enjoys wearing the masks it is our position to navigate through this ongoing pandemic as safely as we can for all guests, owners and staff. RCI does not provide the resort with emails or phone contacts prior to your arrival, so we regret that we could not contact you with our pre-arrival information in the same fashion we do for our non-RCI guests. Thank you for providing the feedback so we can continue to work with RCI to strengthen our partnership and communications for our mutual customers.

Staff works hard to please, management incompetent and very nasty. It's a shame because this resort has really nice staff which is hard to come by but the supervisors and management are greedy and nasty. Stay away or watch out for your pocketbook. They use Covid to make every excuse to give lousy service in an industry that requires it. I feel bad for their employees because they treat them terribly. Rooms were uncomfortable. Pool and hot tub was very nice. Nothing going on unless you go to ski and them again they will take such advantage of you and your money. There are so many better choices.

We loved our stay at kaatskill mountain club. The staff as well as other people staying were all so friendly. Lots to see in the area. Mountain arboretum was my favorite place to to. Units were clean and comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen. Would have love play ground at resort but there was a public one very close that was great.

There are many outdoor scenic views to be had both on resort and in the area. Some of our group visited every nearby waterfall accessible by trails. Some were too challenging for some but those that we could view were spectacular. It is a bit of a drive to some areas we were interested in visiting; that did not stop us. There are great nearby breweries with very good food. The Van Winkle restaurant in the resort, while only open on weekends at this time was very good. We did a day trip over to the Hudson River to the river walk and visited noted artist (of the Hudson River School) Church's home & studio on the east bank of the Hudson River was very interesting and unique.

Beautiful hotel! Nice staff! Got a call a day after we left the hotel. Unfortunately wanted to charge us $296.00 for a list of nonsense. She started explaining, “firstly you broke the molding by the door letting out to the porch. Secondly, one pillowcase has a blood stain we will have to discard and replace. And then she went on how much cleaning they’ll have to do in our room… “ it’s big 2 bedroom suite and a kitchen. I tried explaining to her that the molding was broken when I first arrived I personally had a hard to locking the porch door. And my son did have a nose bleed. We didn’t do it intentionally and that is why hotels purchase big quantities at discounted wholesale prices for when a pill case does have to be replaced. Nothing lasts forever… She said she’ll have a supervisor get back to me. So far I wasn’t lucky for that one. Do we really have to get charged for a bunch of nonsense to make up for what the lost on in business during COVYD LOCKDOWN?!?! OMG!! We did reach out to our bank to dispute the extra charge and let them negotiate.
