Nyamatusi Mahogany is the perfect luxury safari experience for families. Consisting of 2 tented suites and 2 family suites nested under mahogany trees on the shores of the Zambezi River, the camp has been designed with style and serenity in mind. Promoting a philosophy that embraces families into the wild, children are welcomed into our special ‘Cub Club’ incorporating tailor-made activities.
My wife and i stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon and we were blown away by the camp and staff.
The staff at the camp made sure our stay was exceptional. Michelle was always there to greet us and make sure we were comfortable. Benjamin ensured our room was spotless each day and had all the amenities readily available to us. Even the chef deserves applause and is a prodigy in the making- I had some of the best meals of my life while staying here, even better than fine dining from our home in new york city. All the other countless staff as well deserve praise for their efforts
Our guide TV also was an important part of our stay. His knowledge of the park and its game as well as his impressive off road driving skills made every time we left camp an enjoyable experience. He always tailored each drive or activity to our interests and led us to incredible game interactions in a safe manner.
The amenities of the camp were astounding with plenty of places to relax and get comfortable. Our tent additionally had a pool which led to some great interactions with the elephants.
Overall we had an all star experience in the park and with the team. Any one travleing through zimbabwe should ensure this camp is part of their stay.

I stayed 2 nights and wished I had been able to stay longer. I stayed in room number six. The room was very large with a plunge pool on a large deck. There is also an indoor and outdoor shower and a clawfoot bathtub. There is air conditioning at this property . The food is very good and you get a choice of entrées for dinner. I think they do pizzas twice a week in their pizza oven but I missed it. The pool area is large in the central area, and the view is nice of the river . All of the staff are very helpful and my guide was very good. They also have family connecting rooms on one side of the lodge and then two separate rooms on the other side .

We just loved our stay at Nyamatusi. The camp is luxurious and still gives you the feeling that you are in the African bush. You are very close to nature and experience the most exciting interactions between the animals (we were there in December which is not the best time of the year at all, but still saw lions killing buffalos, six baby lions, crocodiles and hippos fighting over food, etc.) - just amazing! Besides regular game drives, you can also go kayaking, fishing or for a boat ride. The scenic view is wonderful! Staff was extraordinarily friendly and did a great job at entertaining the guests. Food was almost always very good! We felt like we were in our African home! Will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family!

A beautiful location with 5 star accommodations & meals plus their wonderful staff made us feel like family. Nic Polenakis our guide made sunrise to sunset filled with life long memories. We saw so much wildlife and with his knowledge of the area & animals that was priceless! Thank you Nic for everything, you went above & beyond. I stayed at Nyamatusi Mahogany with my husband and 3 children. The tents and the main area are beautifully and luxuriously furnished and offer a breathtaking view out towards the shores of the zambesi river. We saw lots of animals in the camp and close to the tents every single day, from elephants to elans and even hyenas and lions at night. The game driver TV is a super star, both very friendly and knowledgeable and had a sharp q1aeye for finding the perfect spots for observing the animals and enjoying the delicious snacks and drinks that the kitchen prepared for us every day. All the meals were delicious and the staff both friendly and extremely service-oriented. We would love to come back!

We just came back from a 3 days stay at Nyamatusi ABC in Mana Pools. Travelling with 3 kids, we had an amazing time.
Of course, the beauty of the Mana Pools Natural Reserve is breathtaking. Of course, Nyamatusi camp is luxurious and comfortable, situated along the Zambeze River, with breathtaking views, private pools and decks in front of each tent, animals that pass through the camp at all hours and let themselves be admired peacefully,.... But what made our stay so special was the welcome we received from the entire camp team! Sheppard and his team pampered us. Zulu cooked us delicious dinners, taking care to please both parents and children. Finally, our guide Cliffy shared his immense knowledge of the park, his good humour and his patience with us. The football party he organised for the children in the savannah at sunset will live long in their memories! Thanks for everything!

I’m scoring African Bush Camps 10 out of 10 for our trip through Botswana and Zimbabwe BUT I have to give Nyamatusi Mahogany a 15 out of 10! Bowled over by the friendliness, expertise, fun and family feel while staying there. Huge thanks to Chris our game driver ( super special person and so passionate about his job And family) and Taffy - a perfect fun host who understands the diversity of his guests so well and deals with them in such a professional manner. To call this a camp would be an injustice, as it is a super-luxe accommodation nestled right on the Zambezi River on the Eastern edge of Mana Pools.
The arrival was to the customary dancing welcome…and that set the tone for the trip. Taffy and team took great care of us during our entire stay.
We were in the Family Tent closest to the Main Lodge, and believe me it is the the most crazy luxe accommodation with 2 huge rooms that could fit our whole extended family with a lovely plunge pool in between. Everything is high spec and it was an absolute joy to stay here. One can hear the antelope munching on the grass outside while lying in bed, and the lions are literally relentlessly calling all night, leaving one dreaming of the adventures of the next morning. The rooms also have refrigerators to keep the drinks cool, for a long sip after those afternoon naps…new experience in a camp for me. A bit OTT, but sometimes that can really comfort oneself.
The team is absolutely top notch and we enjoyed many long drives with our amazing guide Lovemore. Taffy and Kela took care of us while in the lodge and anticipated every need…they even entertained us with some dancing on one of the evenings. Chef Foongai worked his magic and got us amazing meals through out, including an unforgettable spicy oxtail stew. Colleen took care of the rooms and our never ending supply of laundry.
Wildlife sightings were amazing, although we didn’t get to meet the King Elephant, Boswell…but we did try. We had to “make do” with some basic stuff like lion tracking on foot and hanging out on the ground with the 9 members of the “Dynasty” wild dog pack. Just the usual stuff, you know….😀
Overall it was lovely and we really enjoyed our time here. We would return in an instant…bank account willing.

My husband and I, along with our adult daughters and their guys, spent the most incredible three nights at Nyamatusi Mahogany Camp in late July.
It's hard to know where to begin, so I'll start with what stands out the most and that is the truly exceptional staff. Their warmth and congeniality combined with their professionalism and humor created an atmosphere that we will never forget. Our hosts, Joyce and Jaison, set the tone for the entire camp. Upon arrival at Nyamatusi, we were greeted by Joyce and Jaison leading the staff in song. The incredible hospitality we were shown made us feel at home for our entire stay.
Lovemore was our awesome guide. With Lovemore as our leader on game drives and walks, it was as if we were in a college level course on the African eco-system. His depth of knowledge was truly remarkable. In addition, Lovemore, with his quick wit, kept us in stitches and seemed to possess unlimited tolerance for our incessant questions.
We so enjoyed being able to spend our time in camp, at meals and around the campfire with our guide, our hosts and the extended staff. It was a lovely opportunity to get to know them better and hear about their experiences. We were so touched on our last night when we were surprised by a dance party and celebration in honor of a couple of major events in our family (an anniversary and a recent engagement). The kindness and thoughtfulness of the entire staff of Nyamatusi was just remarkable.
On the banks of the Zambezi River, with views across to the mountains of Zambia, the setting for Nyamatusi Mahogany is stunning, especially at sunset. The design and decor is gorgeous: contemporary, spacious and comfortable. We loved the views from our "tent" and especially from the two-story common area.
The food was wonderful! There were great, healthy choices and all so beautifully presented.
Oh! yes, the wildlife! Mana Pools is an amazing area. We saw lots of elephants, impalas, kudus, zebras, a huge variety of birds, crocodiles, lions (several times) and tons of hippos. Don’t miss: 1) a canoe trip on the Zambezi: up close and personal with lots of crocodiles and hippos, that will get the adrenaline going! and 2) a walking safari - especially on the trail of lions! The guides in Zimbabwe are some of the best and most rigorously trained in Africa.
It all adds up to an unforgettable experience!!!
