We arrived at the place past 2pm from a long drive due to heavy traffic in Manila but check in was a breeze. Unintentionally, I left my IPad Mini at the Front Desk upon checking in and took quite long hours before I realized I lost it. Took a chance to ask the Front Desk and voila, they found and safekeep my gadget and return to me. I'm totally amazed by the honesty of the Front Desk. Then upon checking out, found out that my online discount has not been applied to my total bill. Ms. Hershey Santos, Reservation Officer immediately offered to assist and resolve the issue by booking me direct at the hotel so I can avail of the discounted rate. Highly commendable customer service. I am truly grateful and happy to choose this hotel. We will be back definitely! Special thanks goes to Ms. Princess and Ms. Hershey.

My wife, mother-in-law, and a cousin traveled to Manila and took a weekend side trip to Subic Bay. The BW Plus was a great choice. New, clean, super-comfy beds and all expected amenities. Staff was courteous and helpful and the breakfast buffet was great. A good selection of Filipino and Western offerings. We ate dinner one night in the hotel's restaurant, Spencer's, and it was quite good.

The hotel is not far from a bunch of other restaurant options and is located within viewing distance of the Bay.

Nothing to complain about when reviewing the Best Western Plus Subic Bay.

The hotel is modern and new. The pool on top has a good view of the beach and mountains. The gym also overlooks the pool and the beach. Service was okay. Breakfast buffet is not worth the amount. Almost all food served were canned or frozen-longanisa and pork and beans. The fried fish fillet was the only one not processed, and it tasted horrible. The pizza we ordered was also bad. The plus part is that there is a Fortune restaurant at the ground floor of the building.

Dear Lenglu, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our property. The feedback from all of our guests is vitally important to us and we always want guest expectations to be met upon arrival. I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience. Customer service is our top priority and it is very disappointing to receive a comment like this. We work hard to offer good food and friendly service, and will investigate the concerns you have raised on our food service. I hope you will give us another chance in the future. Regards, BEST WESTERN PLUS HOTEL - SUBIC

room are quite small only fits two people so if you're a family of 5 better phone the hotel and ask them your best options cos they'll give it to you. if you're like us who only has a limited amount of free time this is a good hotel for a very very quick getaway. i just didn't like the breakfast they offered so i'm docking some points on that. their pool is great though. not a lot of people so you can enjoy a good swim. food choices are a little limited but there's a mini-stop nearby for munchies you can buy. or u can just go to Harbor Point mall for more restaurant choices. i'd stay here again but maybe bring a few crackers with me should I get hungry hehe

Kudos to all employees, They were helpful from the reservation up to the time we check in. The room was cozy and clean. I do like the pillows very comfortable and the interior design of the room was detailed. If you want to have a staycation i recommend this place, it is definitely a home away from home. I like the scenic beauty from the top floor. We will definitely go back to this hotel with our friends.

This hotel is fantastic! - so I'm rating it 5 stars to offset the bad reviews. It is big and we got lost getting to our room. The elevators are visible of the building which makes us comfortable for a lot of walking. The first hall we walked down was very nice. As we got closer to what appeared to be the rooms...
- the halls were CLEAN and everything looked nice. When we got into our room I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was newly remodeled and the bathroom was not only immaculate but it was sparkling clean. I am a stickler for clean showers and bathrooms & I was not disappointed. We had to use a roll away because of the size of our group & I slept on the rollaway. Surprisingly it was the best sleep of my trip.

I highly recommend this hotel and there were some places in this large facility that were not maintained - but the rooms are fantastic!! I doubt you'd find a better place in Subic for the price.

Our family stayed for 2 nights on a peak weekend. We chose this due to the name it carries, Best Western, which has a not so bad reputation. But here we found it different, in a not so good sort of way. Rooms are very small, though kept clean. New as it seems though, we encountered a strong leak in the cabinet area coming from the bathroom.
We also had a frustrating experience with their breakfast buffet: at 815 there was serious lack of food, no plates, 3 pieces of bread, no rice even. Despite my constant pleas, they were only able to refill, and not completely yet, at around 835. It was not only I who complained as some others noted this..

Dear vas559, Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay. I greatly appreciate your comments about aspects of the room that need maintenance concern and our breakfast serving that is taking too long to be filled up for another refill, we are very sorry about that. It is a pleasure to announce that we will be implementing many of these upgrades to the property within the next couple of months. In taking great care of our charming hotel, our main priority is to be able to offer a very well-maintained and comfortable atmosphere. I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. Regards, BEST WESTERN PLUS HOTEL - SUBIC

this is ALMOST the perfect hotel. the location is good, the facilities are nice and clean, the staff are very helpful. however, there are still a few things that need improvement. first, the shower rooms of the two rooms that we occupied need re-leveling of the floor. the water overflows beyond the glass door because the floor drain is higher than the floor below the glass door. second, the cable tv in room 312 is not functioning. this should be checked before the guests arrive to ensure completeness of the package paid for. and lastly, only one card key is being provided per room. it is not always that everybody goes out altogether. there are times when one wants to stay and sleep. and the only way to keep the aircon and lights in the room running is to place the card key in the slot provided in the room. if the companion comes back and the other is still sleeping, the housekeeping has to be called to open the door. this is too cumbersome for the guests especially when there's no house phone along the hallways. i know the reason behind the single key provision is economics (on electricity) but the hotel should always think about the convenience of the guests at all times.

This hotel is new, and its nice.

Check-in was fast. Staff are very friendly and very helpful.

Room is spacious. We are a family of two adults and two kids and we fit perfectly.

Depending on where your room is it could be quite a maze wandering around corridors. If you get a room at the back now and in the coming months you’ll get a view of the on-going building construction there.

The hotel is within short walking distance to the various restaurants and bars along the marina. And there are two restaurants on the ground floor itself.

There is a nice pool at the roof deck with a nice view of the bay.

And then there are what look like contractor issues on the hotel facilities.

The first thing I noticed is the bathroom door latch with nothing to latch on to. The bathroom has a clear glass provided with roll-up shade to cover the inside, but the width leaves about a quarter inch gap on the sides so if you wanted to you can probably peek inside, if youre into that kind of thing.

Then the shower drain clogged. It didn’t drain slowly, it clogged completely. Water began to seep into the toilet area and into the drain there, leaving the whole area drenched. We informed the front desk and someone came up and fixed it.

Theres supposed to be in-room wifi but it was as good as non-existent. We couldn’t connect and even after the front desk told us twice that they would reset it, we never did manage to connect.

Breakfast consisted of a buffet with limited choices (mostly Filipino fare) but this is par for the course on most Philippine hotels outside of the major metropolitan areas. The chef makes good omelet, though.

The price (about $138/night) is about right for what it offers, although the clogged bathroom is a major issue along with the non-existent wifi, so there could be room for improvement. Its still a good hotel, but with so many new offerings in this area you may want to explore.

You better ask the hotel online about your concern about the pool. When we were there e wala naman kaming naging problem about the use of the pool.
