It's like visiting a different place in Subic. Thai inspired hotel rooms and food. Try their bangus breakfast just make sure to arrange it ahead of time. Also ask for a quieter room since it is near the port.

My husband and I occasionally stay at the Segarra Suites since 2012, when it was relatively new. Our time there had been really comfortable, the staff were very pleasant, professional and very attentive. The rooms were spleen clean. I was in my first trimester and they took the extra mile to accommodate my requests. They even sent an entire Cookie Jar to our room since I was having cravings. They made us very happy that whenever we go to Subic, they were our number 1 choice. Things turned for the worse when we came back and decided to stay at the Segarra Villas. We made reservations on the same day that we arrived. We were staying for 3 nights. I CALLED IN AROUND 11am AND WE GOT THERE AROUND 11pm ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE ROOM IS NOT YET READY BECAUSE THEY HAD TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS VERY CLEAN. My oh My! That's more than 8 hours of cleaning time!!! Really?!

Seeing that I was fuming, they told me that the room assigned to us was frequented by none other than the Queen of Talk, Ms. Kris Aquino. As if that would help. And that if I was a BDO Credit Card holder I can avail of their discount. We were really tired, I didn't want to get into any more arguments that night since I also had a baby in tow. So we checked-in, slept and ate breakfast the following day.

Breakfast was pretty standard, one reviewer here noted the crushed chicken bones in the adobo sauce. I think that's how they do it, probably their trademark. The Tapa was good and eggs were served in abundance. We left after breakfast so they can have the room cleaned.

Facilities like the pool and restaurant were properly maintained.

I guess we got back earlier than they expected. We left the Villa around 11am and came in around 4pm. NOT ENOUGH CLEANING TIME? THE HAND MARKS OF MY SON WERE STILL IN THE GLASS PARTITION OF THE LOFT, WORSE WERE HIS SALIVA TRAILS SINCE HE WAS TEETHING. THEY HAVE POOR CLEANING STANDARDS NOW. I complained to the front desk about this and they did nothing!

Fast forward to checking out, I presented my BDO Mastercard and asked for the discount only to be told that it was exclusive to BDO Employees! I called for the manager but instead, the front office staff gave me a piece of paper so that I can write down my concerns. I wanted to utter heartfelt expletives but knowing it wouldn't solve anything, I just resorted into writing this straight-from-the-heart review.. on the internet for everybody to see.

Segara suites were a last minute booking for us as our regular hotel was fully booked. We appreciate the clean and beautifully themed rooms. We were unable to try their pool due to time constraints but it looked so inviting. The set breakfast was ample enough to start your day.

Weekend stay with the family.. Quiet location.. Nice and clean rooms, except for the busted bedside lamp.. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before.. breakfast buffet option is only when hotel is fully booked.. Major disappointment was when the restaurant can't provide food in their restaurant until 8pm because of an event.. worse, when we asked if we can just buy food outside since they can't cater for their in-house guests, there's corkage! At least be flexible since you're not capable of providing service..

The policies enforced upon you as a paying guest at the Segara Suites have to be amongst the oddest (and most detrimental to the overall guest experience) that I have ever encountered.

1. Upon check in, guests are obliged to sign a waiver to release the hotel of any responsibility should your room be robbed during your stay, what a first impression! There are also large signs in the rooms telling guests that the hotel is not responsible for theft of cash etc etc, why is a waiver also required?? Legally, the sign covers them, the waiver is just completely unnecessary. We spent 45 minutes waiting for the safe in our room to be fixed, not something I would usually care about but after we're told about the imminent threats that await us, it seemed essential to lock everything up!

2. Breakfast must be ordered by guests the night before, it's not absolutely clear why but order we did. The really confusing thing is that guests are 'allowed' to have only one drink with breakfast, that means 1 cup of coffee OR 1 fruit juice and heaven forbid if you might like one of each! It just doesn't make any sense!

3. After filling out a form to order breakfast the night before, selecting coffee or a fruit juice and eating breakfast as the staff stared at the TV screen, guests are then required to sign a form confirming that they have had their 'complimentary' breakfast! It's all just so unnecessary and unwelcoming.

4. When raising these points the staff seemed bewildered that all of these policies and signatures were not what guests expect, it was clear that nobody was listening.

The hotel also failed to mention that the 650ft long submarine tender, USS Emory S. Land was in dock less than 100m away (for 2 months) meaning that there was a loud sound of engines and generators running 24/7, not really the hotel's fault as such but it might have been worthwhile mentioning this at the time of booking. Did I mention that the hotel was completely empty?!?!

On the plus side, the room was perfectly nice and the pool area was actually very attractive. Shame about the TV that was only half tuned in, nobody seemed to be able to address that for us so we just gave up.

Bottom line, someone has enjoyed creating all of these rules and policies at the Segara Suites without considering what paying customers actually want. They definitely won't be reading this review (or responding to it) and that's where all the problems begin.

When you sign a waiver to keep your things safe, you better make sure that you do. It's my second time to stay in this hotel. Generally the service is quite good. Room is very cozy. It appeared to be safe but disappointing to learn otherwise. Been checking in hotels and have never lost any valuables. It was my first to experience to have lost cash during an overnight stay in this hotel. Good thing the thief did not get the whole 10,000php just about 1/3 of the amount thinking I wouldn't notice. Reported incident to the hotel and it was taking them forever to review the cctv. I just asked if they can just e-mail me what they found and hopefully do what is necessary to keep their place secured. This is so that nothing like this should happen to any of their guests again.

Price is what you pay, value is what you get.
Shoddy customer servicr starts right at the reception.Segara is the only hotel I have seen till date which charges you if you lose the electronic key.
Stains on the carpet and curtains isn't what you expect from a $150 a night hotel.
Oh and if you need an extra towel,no need to worry, you just need to pay Php300. And you can get an extra pillow or glass as long as you pay for it.
Nice property but certainly not value for money.
I am going with 2 out of 5 for Segara suites.

Segara Suites is located inside the Subic freeport and beachfront area but of course you cannot swim there bcause most ships were parked.
The allocated park was good since it is covered.
The Staff were friendly (some but not all)

The Swimming pool was SUPERB! It was warm and perfect to our body temperature.

The garden was well maintained too.

We were 3 Families and booked 3 Rooms with 2 Queen size beds. It was clearly stated on Call center hotline that 4 adults can accomodate per room but did not explained that only 2 can accomodate per room then the rest was EXTRA CHARGE. This made our day and relaxing mode so bad.
The Air conditioning was not good since you cannot control the temperature and need to call the front desk to adjust it.
The shower cannot maintain what is the temperature if it's cold or hot.
The bed was great and soft. Pillows was too soft.

The breakfast was WORST small serving. It's like only a 4 year old kid can eat it. So we still manage to eat in Mcdonalds nearby.

The cleanliness and orderliness is acceptable.

Upon check out they charged us extra person and the bill went to like its good for a room it was like a SURPRISE thing but we insisted not to pay it since the Supervisor accepted our explanation. We we're decieved by the pricing and explanation but nevertheless will probably look for other hotel on our next stay.

We have booked in Segara suites twice and in every visit we are always happy with our stay. I have this penchant for modern and clean hotels, and Segara suites fits just that. My kids also love the hotel and the pool.

Our family was excited to have a long awaited local break when we booked in Segara Suites. When we arrived, help for bags was instant then we checked in at the front desk.
The reception guy Carlos asked how old our kids were, where I answered the said ages. He then mentioned that kids above 7 years of ages must be paid as extra persons in the room. I said that in the city 5-star hotels, we were always not charged for the 2 extra kids since they are 12 and below, to which he just repeated that they have to be charged. Annoyed by this, I just gave him the money and asked if we can just get in the rooms already. This conversation wasn't as clear as it sounds since the Carlos guy was beating around the bush in stating their 7-year-old-children-must-be-paid-extra.
The rooms were spacious and there was a spa, a pool, and a restaurant inside the property. The shower though was having temperature control issues, and it was a gross sight seeing the small bottled toiletries have a portion used up. It's as if the previous guest used it and the hotel just chose to leave it there for the next guest.
Going out for dinner, the same front desk guy Carlos asked if we have chosen which breakfast items we wanted, and I was lost with the question since there wasn't any previous instruction that we should choose beforehand. Since we were in a hurry, I asked if we could answer when we get back, where he said it should be submitted before 9pm, and that was 820pm when he said it. Completely annoying!
Next trip to Subic, we choose another place.
