The leaves rustle quietly in the rainforest. The waves quietly approach then draw back, seemingly hesitant to disturb the peaceful shore. This is sanctuary, this is Kamana. Nestled between an old-growth rainforest and the gentle Nabasan Bay, Kamana Sanctuary offers shelter from the hectic noise and frantic pace of the city. Every modern comfort has been thoughtfully provided in each room, to ensure only one thing - that you leave refreshed, recharged.

A bit pricey and is a 30-minute drive from the centre of Subic Bay freeport (including about a 10 minute drive along a small road -- but paved -- from the highway) but is well worth it. There is a sign on the highway and several more on the road from the highway but best to use GPS or Waze. There are no houses in this area -- because it is a sanctuary after all (I find it hilarious that some people on Tripadvisor complained about how secluded this place is and that there were monkeys around). Check in during daytime; it can be a difficult drive at night unless you are familiar with the area. Unlike other places in Subic and Bataan, Kamana does not accept guests who are only there for the day; this makes the resort very private. All the staff are very friendly and greet their guests. They seem happy because they always serve with a smile. The rooms are large, and the beds as well. The WiFi signal is very strong throughout the property, including the beach. I have read some really bad reviews about this resort on Trip Advisor and I wonder whether we all went to the same resort -- I could not see what they were complaining about. Breakfast buffet (which comes with the room rate) is fabulous. Fruits, cereal, rice, tapa (very good),

Large rooms nice shower ( should really have a hand shower attachment as well). Two wash basins. Room well lit and a wooden window/door with shutters.Air conditioning excellent easy to control as well as first class TV. Exceptional WiFi. Some rooms are built out into the sea. Food was good we stayed at New Year so the catering was all arranged as part of the evening entertainment . The entire resort was newly built it did not rely on any existing buildings or facilities as part of the old Naval Base. A great view of the sea and amazing sunsets and idyllic sunrises.Staff were exceptionally friendly. Be aware anytime there is a function in the centre of the grounds it will be noisy.

We fell in love with this place! Sarap sarap ng food with the sulit price...super busog sa buffet breakfast...sarap mag breakfast by the beach...the hotel staff were nice, courteous and prompt in attending to guests’ requests...super serene environment, indeed it was a sanctuary....the hotel room was spacious and nice...the whole hotel property was clean and nice...the view was superb...the sea water was very clear and you can see some fishes while you swim! Though there were monkeys in the morning lined up at the forest area in front of the hotel corridor just as you go out of your room, they were just hoping guests would give them food. Some would line up in front of the hotel guests smiling. Also, it was a long drive through the Subic forest to get to the hotel. We hoped there were more lamp posts going to the property as it was scary when we went to Zoobic Safari for night safari. It also felt scary when we were driving along the bushy narrow road that was quite unmaintained, and seemed like you are going to the middle of nowhere 😬 So I hope Kamana would cut the tall grasses along the road and have more signs to make guests feel that they are really going to a hotel and not in the middle of the jungle 🤗 Best that you are in the hotel before sun down. We missed the massage by the beach, as it was fully booked when my husband and I decided to go for it. But I think it is also great. All in all, this hotel is just simply ❤️ We will definitely go back! And we already recommended this hotel to family and friends 😊
