Stayed here for 2 nights for an office event. The place is very nostalgic to the old subic bay era. The rooms are huge with old classic interiors. Food and service is good. There just a lot of construction going on to update the hotel. Looking forward to see al the new upgrades in the future

Spent a night here and it was quite the experience. I've never had a hotel experience that fluctuated so much in terms of quality, but overall I got the relaxation I sorely needed thanks to this place.

Pros:
-It's fairly close and easily accessible from Manila, only a 1.5 hour drive.
-There are a lot of promos/discounted rates so we paid much cheaper for a room that (in our opinion) would normally be much more expensive considering the quality
-The lagoon is well-maintained and spacious. We stayed in the pool for hours.
-The room we got is magnificent, complete with a jacuzzi tub (with actual hot water!) and a sonic shower. The bathroom is one of the nicest I've ever seen, complete with gold and marble furnishings.
-The view of the marina bay is wonderful and you get to fall asleep to the faint sounds of waves splashing against the yachts docked there.
-Food is good enough; their crispy pata and halo-halo were delicious, and very well-priced for hotel! Breakfast buffet had a lot of variety. I loved the cinammon french toast in particular.
-Staff were courteous.

Cons:
-Like everyone else, I have to bring up the renovations. Apparently they've been renovating for a long time now, because there was still a lot of construction ongoing and their temporary "lobby" is tiny. A lot of the main hotel is blocked off with sheets and tarpaulins giving out a haunted vibe.
-The building itself is showing signs of wear and tear, with paint chipping off of the facade (which strangely enough, is one area they're not currently renovating for some reason).
-It's clear there's some mismanagement going on because subic bay yacht club used to be the one place you went to subic for, a haven for the elites. And yet now, despite being there on a holiday it was practically deserted. The restaurant was empty when we had dinner, and we barely saw other people around. I suppose if you enjoy privacy you will appreciate having the entire place to yourself.

Me and my husband scheduled a brief overnight stay at the Subic Bay Yacht Club (we stayed on the weekend of March 8).

The reviews of this place are pretty accurate. The old furnishings, dirty carpet, stained walls, unpolished brass fixtures, old wooden scent, and the and dingy looking elevator in the lobby all met my low expectations of the hotel. But then again, at a discounted rate of 50% via Agoda (we paid only Php 3,250 for a deluxe room with breakfast) the deal was not bad at all.

The parking area was covered and secure enough. However, it was good that we didn't have much luggage to tug around from the parking as there were no bell boys assisting us. Come to think of it, there were only a handful of employees in the compound.

The room itself is acceptable enough. The beddings were okay, the wooden furniture served its purpose, and the huge bathroom had a separate bathtub and shower set-up with fixtures that are in bad need of replacement. Although, I didn't dare try the tub/ jacuzzi due to the run down marble around it -- it's an accident waiting to happen. Also, make sure to bring your own toiletries as they don't provide for grooming goodies apart from unbranded soap, shampoo, and bath gel.

The TV was already a 32"LCD type although some of the cable channels were unclear.

There was only one electric outlet with two ports -- not really convenient if you want to immediately access your gadgets while charging.

There was a coffee maker with some ground coffee for brewing albeit they forgot to provide cream to go with the condiment packets. Oh, there is no complimentary water for the room so you will have to buy water from the 7-11 outlet found right across the street.

Since our room adjoined another, it was also inevitable to hear baby shrieks coming from the other room.

The hotel also offers free WiFi but the signal barely reached our room on the 3rd floor. You would be better off tethering from your Iphone personal hotspot.

Breakfast buffet at the Cambursa restaurant was at best, average. The only thing really good among their offerings was the beef tapa. Just have that and an omelette and you'll be set for the day. The service crew however were not so amicable. I asked for coffee and the waitress just pointed me to get some from the buffet. This was strange considering that she was serving water. There were no cloth napkins nor at the very least tissue paper holders on the tables so pray to the highest heavens that you don't spill anything on your lap.

Look past these flaws and instead look forward to the positive. True enough, the view from the room makes up for the imperfections. The marina view gave me an overwhelming feeling of nautical opulence. Big beautiful sail boats and yachts were docked right in front of your room.

One thing is for sure -- I've stayed in worse and I sure have stayed in better. But for an overnight stay, it will definitely suffice. I would have loved to stay here during its heyday in the 90s. I sure wish however that they renovate the interiors before it comes to a point of no return.

While I abide by my review of an acceptable overnight stay, I wouldn't recommend staying here however if you're in it for a mid-long term vacay. Go for Segara villas/suites or The Lighthouse if you're staying at least two nights or more for a more.

Apart from the very high price of a room for visitors, and the same for the use of the pool, the whole place is sadly lacking in outside maintenance. Pathways and areas are broken in many places. It is very outdated all round. The opening hours for toilets and showers for visiting yachts guests are erratic and not as advertised. The appearance seems to wholly set for the staff and management convenience. That said the staff in the reception and restaurant are very helpful and polite.

The Clipper Race crew, support staff and maintenance team, that’s 200 plus people were held in quarantine within the marina. The hotel staff, Barry the marina manager and his team did everything they could to support our unexpected stay. I cannot fault their care and kindness. Thank you all for looking after us. Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again in January 2021.

MUST READ THIS BEFORE YOU RESERVE YOUR ROOM IN THIS HOTEL. After we checked in and entered our room, the first thing we noticed was a torn bed skirt not only one side but all over. There's a lot of stain on the carpet (see photos attached) also stain on the wall. They plug a hole next to the ceiling but not totally sealed.
the whole room is totally dusty every corner and looks like a mold below the vent with nail hole on the wall. I told them I have an allergy of dust mite and demanded to give us another room but was told to wait. So I waited for 45 minutes to see if there's available room but never got back to me and I had to call the front desk only to find out there was none available. If I didn't call I would have waited for longer time. All of the lobby on the 3rd floor where we stayed were sealed with plastic which made the lobby even more hotter on top of the humidity outside. The hotel is under renovation and I completely understand that buy they should have not rented the rooms that are under renovation like our room at #320 which is very dirty, dusty and health hazard. Now I am suffering from a bad allergy reaction up to this time. I ALREADY CONTACTED THE DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM BECAUSE I FEEL THAT THIS HAS TO STOP. IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD. NOT ONLY THAT, TOWELS THAT WAS PROVIDED WERE BROWNIES COLOR (THEY WERE NOT BROWN COLOR, THEY WERE WHITE). BY THE WAY I'M REFERRING TO ROOM #320 WHERE WE STAYED FROM 6/7-6/12.
THEN COMES CHECKED OUT TIME, WE HAVE ALREADY PAID THE DAY PRIOR BUT ON THE CHECKED OUT TIME THE CLERK WAS ASKING US TO PAY AGAIN. NOT ONLY ONCE BUT TWICE BECAUSE WE PAID FOR ANOTHER ROOM ALSO FOR OUR GUEST AND THEY WERE ASKED ALSO TO PAY AGAIN. WE STAYED IN THAT OFFICE FROM 5:30AM- TO 6:45AM JUST TO CHECK OUT. NEVER AGAIN I WOULD STAY THERE OR RECOMMEND SOMEBODY TO CHECK IN THAT HOTEL. VERY BAD MANAGEMENT I THINK. I AM NOT FINISH YET, THE FOOD FOR BREAKFAST WERE NOT PRESENTABLE EITHER. FOOD IS COLD, NEEDS WARMER, THEY SLICED THEIR FRUITS INTO VERY SMALL PORTION TO ACCOMMODATE EVERYBODY FOR $10.

I had a great time staying here at Subic Bay Yacht Club. The bedroom and rest room is Great. They gave me two rooms and for free because the aircon is not working. We had our event here and the room is nice and great. I love to invite the people who will go to Subic and try to this hotel. The pool was nice and the gym is cool.

I booked 2 rooms for my family, inspire of all the negative feedback. I sure am glad this time I didn't listen to the comments.

Hotel: is a bit old but it is still nice, the lobby is a bit warm, but the view of the Marina is lovely.

Rooms: has 2 queen sized beds + 1 sofa bed. The bathroom is huge with its own jacuzzi that actually works. I booked 2 rooms without a view but I was given 2 adjacent rooms facing the marina. What a lovely view to wake up to. The rooms we were given are clean.

Staff: the reception has only 1 staff when we checked in & checked out, but she was very efficient and fast. The hotel staff are very helpful with my sister who is on wheelchair.

She restaurant staff are the best. As soon as we entered the restaurant for breakfast, they automatically looked for the most comfortable table that would accommodate all 7 of us. When I told them my sister will only be having ala carte, they automatically offered for her to eat anything for free (I hope they won't get into trouble with their management with this comment).

Overall, we had a great time at the Subic Bay Yatch Club, I just hope they would restore the hotel to its former glory.
