For this SBMA trip, I looked for a hotel we haven't tried. Renovated photos of Subic Bay Travelers Hotel looked promising.

PROS:
1. Contemporary designed renovation of the lobby and all interior spaces of the hotel. New furniture and fixtures everywhere.

2. Big room with king bed with cushy beddings, huge flat screen TV with a wide channel selection. Cold AC, Safe, mini ref, elec kettle with coffee.

3. Several power outlets and located above the bedside tables height for easy access.

4. Very stylish cafe with good selection of food. We highly commend that the construction of the cafe worked around and saved the mature trees. The massive tree trunks added a unique feature.

5. Pool was adequate in size. Thanks for extending the pool hours while the wifi was being sorted out.

6. Resident manager DJ, FO Kamil and concierge Don were warm and accommodating. Thank you very much for making our celebration memorable.

COULD BE IMPROVED:
1. Internet was very weak in room 201. WIFI signal only reached the first 2 meters inside the room. No signal from the bedroom. However, SBTH staff worked overtime and even transfered router nearer to our room but it took a portion of our time into this issue.
Please look into a more permanent solution to the wifi challenge.

2. Hot water in the shower was not working. Called the FO to raise this concern and was advised that they will have the heater turned on. After a while, temp improved slightly and became tepid at best.
This should be an easy fix to avoid same in future.

3. Reception of TV channels were grainy/snowy. This should be an easy fix to avoid same in future.

In conclusion, 3 stars (average) for now but with these improvement points remedied, SBTH will be one of our go to hotels (definitely 4 stars) in the sub 3k price range.

The size of the room is very much okay. Linens are good and the room is exceptionally clean. The beds are very comfortable. Customer service is fine. A little improvement should be done with the breakfast.

Subic has always been a good place to bring relatives from other parts of the country or from abroad. This was our second time at Subic Bay Travelers Hotel and we were surprised with the renovations which is both refreshing and relaxing. The hotel staff have always been amiable and always ready to serve us. We would highly recommend this to budget conscious but comfort seeking travelers.

We checked-in Dec 28, 2014. We called a week before for reservation, and we were happy they were not full yet...Camayan was and so was moonbay marina villas. Since our target was to watch the dolphins at Ocean Adventure, we just needed a place to stay. Our big problem was we were 5 adults and 2 kids and we were too many to occupy one room. Fortunately, Travelers Hotel's double deluxe room can have 5 adults with 500 for an extra bed, since there are 2 double beds already good for 4.
For almost 3, 900 for 5 adults, this is a good hotel, near Golden teahouse with a good serving of wanton noodles and great dimsum. Aircon was so cold...staff were accommodating but no complimentary coffee even if we requested repeatedly. There was an electric heater though....so just bring your own coffee and perhaps cups, since we requested numerous times...
There is a ref and room was spacious.
I prefer the ground floor rooms since there is no elevator. 2 small pools which is always cold for me... (this is the 3rd time we checked in here but I always back out in trying their pool).
For the double deluxe room, take note that they only provide 2 complimentary breakfast stubs and 2 towels so if there are four people in the room, you have to pay 60 per towel above the 2 towels. Additional bed comes with a towel.
Small hotel but very hygienic and practical, accommodating.
Will come back if we are in a tight budget and not needing the kitchen...

We had a comfortable overnight stay in this hotel. A deluxe room can comfortably fit up to 4 adults (subject to minimal fees per extra person). Room is spacious, to the delight of the baby we brought with us since he had a lot of space to run around. Bathroom is likewise spacious and basic amenities are provided. There's a ref, flat screen TV, and steady WIFI connection in the room (multiple gadgets can connect!). Particularly impressive are the staff who were very attentive, friendly and mindful of their guests' needs. Breakfast is decent, with a minimal, yet adequate, buffet spread in their small dining area. Location is great -- restaurants (there are at least 2 in the parking area itself), malls and supermarkets and even the church, are within walking distance. The pool area, although not that big, is a nice place to hang around while reading the morning papers, checking emails etc. There's an open parking for guests. Reasonably-priced as well. First time stay was not bad at all -- actually, exceeded my expectations.

If you're looking for cheaper rooms to stay in, you can have this hotel as an option but there is nothing much to do in the area. I won't recommend it though for its food service. While our group got a good priced package, we really did not enjoy the food. There are many budget hotels in Subic Bay Freeport Zone (and I've tried many of those). I recommend the hotels along the Waterfront Road because you can find the more popular restaurants which feature live music bands at night (e.g. Pier1 and Gerry's Grill), you can enjoy the Watersports sport activities during the day (networx), and you can enjoy strolling the beachfront in the evening with background of the glittering lights of hotels that surround the beach.

Went to Subic from Clark just for lunch and ended up checking in this hotel. Price is reasonable comparing with other hotels nearby. Front desk staff was very accomodating as they let us occular the room before deciding.Pool is very clean and enticing but unfortunately we did not have enough time (overnight only). Deluxe room is huge with 2 beds which look like king sized beds, LCD cable tv, mini ref, desk, toilet and bath. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was include in the package but the buffet did not have a lot of choices. Staff during breakfast needs a bit of training though. There was not much people eating but this lady kept on asking me for my breakfst stub which i have already given her the moment i arrived in the dining area. Overall it was a pleasant stay i would come back again.

Everytime we spend holidays in SBMA, we always stay here at Traveller's Inn. We have availed their membership last year and since then, its been a great place to stay...First, all their employees are #1 when it comes to hospitality. They will always greet you EVERYTIME and you will feel their effort of willingness to help/assist whenever you need. Next is the cleanliness, from the lobby up to your room. Next is their hotel rate. We find it cheap compare to other hotels within its vicinity especially for members. I suggest you try their Executive Suite (if you're going there with your family). You will have no problem with their bed/t&b/pillows/comforter, expect a 4star hotel quality like. Also, the location is perfect as it is situated near most of the shops, restaurants, casinos, beach.

Now let me talk about the unfavorable side of this hotel:

First, locals said there are ghosts in this hotel. Though I don't believe in ghost and non of us had an experience encountering one here, so I guess that shouldn't be considered as negative.

Second, I find the swimming pool and fitness gym too small. The pool has just a right amount of space for the kids and their fitness gym only has couple of machines. I would also suggest to the management to add up some hotel features like sauna bath and/or jaccuzzi for more comfy experience for adults.

Third is about their Internet service. Though its fast, i find it hard to connect and the last time we stayed there, I had to call them several times to reset their modem as we couldn't connect, and throughout my stay there the connection was disrupted.

Lastly, the breakfast buffet. They don't have an appropriate space for their guests and a limited choices of food.

To sum it up, I would still rate this hotel with "Excellent" and will definitely go back here and recommend this too. In fact, we already have a reservation on holy week...so see you guys there. ;)

Considering this is just a 3-year old hotel, the room looks tired and old.

Upon entering, it is dimmer than most hotel rooms we’ve been in. It doesn’t help that it only has a window at the corner. From the looks of it, they could have made the windows bigger. And add to that, not all of their lamps are working.

We’ve stayed with their sister hotel, Subic Venezia, before. We were actually reminded of it when we stayed here at Subic Travelers Hotel. Not because the room layout is very similar, but because it seems that they just transferred some of their old furniture in this newer hotel.

Regarding room amenities, it’s furnished than most. But then, we noticed the following :

i. They have a coffee maker, but they don’t have filters for it. Thus if you put coffee grind in it, it gets stuck in the drip. Why not replace it with electric kettles if it’s only for boiling water for the instant coffee you provide?
ii. They have ice bucket, but they don’t have an ice vending machine inside their premises.
iii. They don’t give you a remote controller for your aircon. Should you want to have the temperature changed, you need to call the front desk.
iv. The exhaust inside the toilet gives out an irritating buzzing noise.
v. Lastly, the shower heater doesn’t really get hot.

Overall, staying at Subic Bay Travelers hotel is not a bad experience. I just had high expectations for them knowing this is supposed to be new. And if they do something about our ‘observations’, we will definitely stay here again.
